ok i read this a couple of years ago or something on unredeemed and i have to admit that this is one of the first d/g fics i ever read and one of my absolute favorites! i helped turn me into a d/g shipper for good and i've read it many times since so bravo on such a phenominal story!

Bloody brilliant. The story seemed to flow well and the build-up in terms of actions and emotion was great. The fact that the story took place over the course of several years really helped. I especially liked the complexity of Draco's feelings. I hate stories that magically transform his personality (no pun intended). He may not be evil, but he can be a snobby prat sometimes. Acknowledging how hard it was for him to turn his back on his family and father was very poignant. It's not always easy to be nice. I also thought that everyone's reactions to their relationship were executed exceedingly well. In short, I loved it!

I think this is probably the first D/G story I ever read, and I wholeheartedly blame my ongoing obsession with the pairing on you and your fantastic story. I honestly cannot express how fantastic I think this is and how that you do not object to my having added it as recommended reading on my fic rec site http://www.freewebs.com/sekhmet_recs/

Your story was wonderful! it had a original story line. I also liked that the relationship between draco and ginny developted in a believeble way.

That was just wonderful. Seriously. I have been reading this straight through, only stopping for classes, meals, and sleeping. Great work!

I've never understood how this grat fic hasn't received more reviews! It deserves more! It deserves praise and ovations and... I'll stop now. It's so great though. You did a wonderful job.

I've already read your story in the past and I sometimes come back and reread it, doing so I noticed that I don't think I ever reviewed it so I'll do that now - it's brilliant! One of my fav D/G stories and one of the fics that made me ship D/G in the first place. I read it soon after I got into fanfiction and loved it. Thank you for writing this great story.

Something of a newcomer, I've been obsessed with Harry potter fiction for about six months, and in all that time Dark Directed is the only story I've read twice. When I talk to people who haven't read Harry Potter fiction and want to give it a try, it's my first recommendation. Being a geek, my favorite aspect is the love story--even though you really sense how perfect Draco and Ginny are for each other, they both stay in canon character: Ginny is cheeky and brave, Draco is witty and prejudiced. That's what I appreciate most--in a genre full of impossibly sissy Dracos, yours still has teeth. Well, that and the plot, which is true to Rowling's world but also manages to have a life of its own. I'm sad to read that you don't want to write more Hogwarts era fiction. You're great at it!

I really don't like fan fiction, but your story was great. I loved it. Your characters have real depth I think it would be great if you could write a sequel

I also read this story on another site (MT), but this was the first D/G fic I ever read. This story alone got me hooked on D/G fics. The reason why I like reading these fics isn't nessesarily because of the Harry Potter series or of who the characters are in the stories. But really of the talent used to write these fics. I appreciate the unique way in which these two are played upon each other. While I'm not sure if you have or will do a sequal. I personally think you should. If it's possible to add without underminnig the fic itself.

I'm smiling as I type this. That was fantastic. The best D/G I've ever read. It's so difficult to find realistic plot devices when trying to get these two seemingly opposites on the same page. Well done.

I read this story on another site but wanted to add a review here to say how much I enjoyed it! A very satisfying redemption story with believable characterisations, all the more so because we can see at the end how far Draco has come but that he still has a way to go.

I would first just like to cmpliment you on your writing skills - and your characterization skills. This is one of the few fics I've ever read where I really believed that the characters were real - that they were logical extensions of the characters in the books, instead of means to an end. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but still. I bow to talent when I see it.) And the entire plot was excellent - it kept me wanting to read more, and it never dragged - it was killing me that I didn't have time to sit down and read it straight through. Not doing so did increase the sense of anticipation, though, so I guess it wasn't so bad - at least I wasn't waiting for new chapters. And that's another thing - you're one of those writers that makes me happy that I wasn't reading the fic while it was being written - the anticipation would've killed me... Another thing I really liked was the way you ended it. It was realistic, and that just made it all the better. And when Ginny told Ron (finally!) was just funny - kept having to go attack fenceposts...too funny. And when Ginny realized that Draco had rejected Voldemort because he was a snob...priceless. Well, I hope you can make sense of this review - I know it's not very good, and it doesn't even come close to hitting the good parts of every chapter, but thanks for sharing, anyway.

I loved your story. Draco and Gin together without them beeing too much out of caracter, very few autors manage to do this. And you have a good English as far as I can tell, it makes the story easier to read. (English is only my third language) xxx ab

Let me state first that I am an H/G fan, but have always loved the idea of D/G. Something about the bad boy/good girl idea appeals to me intensely. This having been said, I began to search for a good D/G fic, one that would make me believe in D/G, and I have found that in your story. Much like how 'Ginny's Gift,' an H/G fic, made me a firm believer in them, this fic opened up to me the boundless angst that is D/G. Where to start. Well, I liked intensely the fact that it wasn't rushed. I found myself saying, 'Come on! Kiss her already!' But then I realized, to make this story both plausible and enjoyable, it had to be slow. There had to be some tension leading up to what would ultimately be love. I am very pleased with the way you handled the Harry factor; I feel that's something that can't just be shunted off to the sidelines. I was very glad to see that Harry was not made to be some kind of jerk, in order to prop up Draco and D/G. He was geniunely caring. I loved when he first asked her out and kissed her. It was so perfect, and even though I am an H/Ger, I knew that she could not feel for him what she feels for Draco in the story. While I wasn't pleased that Draco called Hermione a mudblood, I saw the reasoning behind it. He just can't cast off something that has been drilled into him since birth. It's something imbedded him, and no matter how much he loves Ginny, it can't be denied. I liked that you didn't have him suddenly apologize. Very IC. I was also impressed by the math calculations and potions. I write fanfic too, and am terrible at that sort of thing. I hope to see a sequel! I am intensely curious to see more of D/G and how her family ultimately reacts to Draco. I must say that this story has forever tainted other D/G fics for me. I will forever compare them to yours. Thank you for such an awesome story. I've read lots of fanfic, and this is definitely one of the best I have read.

You're bringing up really interesting issues from the books that a lot of other authors have forgotten about - especially the fact that Ginny has most likely been traumatized by the possession and that not everyone knows that Voldemort was Tom Riddle (and half-muggle). I really like where you're taking this story. I have a little constructive criticism, though. I think the romance between Ginny and Draco is developing too quickly. I like your Ginny-Draco interaction, but Draco's tenderness and the kiss were a little surprising. I found them hard to believe. I don't really know where this is going (and the next chapter will probably have more insight into what is going on between them), so I probably should not critisize yet, but I was just thinking that if you were ever considering revising this story maybe you could slow it down a little. This is a great beginning, though.
