I read this whole thing in practially one sitting. I couldn't bring myself to look away. My eyes sting.... from reading all day, and from the tears that fell in the last two chapters. I can't believe that so much emotion and hard work was put into this... I am just amazed. I know that you don't know me, and I've never left a comment on here, and this is actually the first story on this site that I have read... and I would love to say that you did it beautifully. I have never been so strongly bound to a charatceter as I was to your version of Draco. He was perfect... just how I would expect him to be... the love, the scorn, the anguish... it's all perfect. As everyone else agrees, a sequal would be great.... I would read it.. probably with the same convictions as this one.... I took a break to eat, and use the restroom... that is how entangled I became by this. I think that all the characters were well deveolped... while I didn't picture GInny to be like that, or for Harry to seem so weak... everyone else was right on the nail. Blaise quickly became my favorite character along with Pansy.... Bravo! And thank you... it was one of the best stories I have ever read!

Author's Response: Thank you Courtney. I'm happy to have caught your notice and attention. I did put a lot of emotion into this story. I think that anything Draco should be filled to the brim with drama. Blaise and Pansy became quite popular, actually... More then I ever anticipated. Perhaps I can work on Harry and Ginny if I continue though.

Just wondering - how's book two coming along?! :)

Author's Response: Book two may be halted. I'm not sure yet. The end of Book Six really shook me. We'll wait and see.

I will outright agree with a previous reviewer. I absolutely despised the way each character was personified. Ginny, Draco, Harry, Hermione, Snape, Ron etc. they were so weak so rundown and i hated that so much because i can never see Ginny so used like that but also like the previous reviewer said- i couldnt stop reading. i read it the whole way through absolutely hypnotized and i have no idea why- it was a beautifullywritten story and i can't wait for more.

Right. Where to begin on this one? I've read the story in it's entirety, and I must confess, it's very compelling. You've woven quite a plot here, taking something that could have been trite fluff and turning it into something of worth. Even knowing that the ending of this couldn't be happy -- not for anyone, really -- I couldn't stop reading it. It was dark, and as such, just perfect for their relationship. As anything between this pair truely couldn't be any other way. I thoroughly enjoyed your characterization of Draco. Here we see him not as the dashing young hero, but as a much more complex character. He is insufferable, arrogant, and loathsome. He's selfish and dark. And this is the Draco that I adore. Because you've taken canon and just given it a little twist and made us really understand what makes Draco tick. As for Ginny. What a mess of contradictions she is as well. Spitfire? Or clinging little girl? Her infatuation is entirely plausible here. She's certaintly not perfect in this story, which makes her a more likable character. You've given very thoughtful consideration to many of the other characters here. Hermoine was quite well done, although I confess that I'm not a shipper of her and Snape. The interaction between her and Ron was quite to my taste. I did so love the Weasleys in this. They are such a great family. As for Harry Potter? Very nice. I was very impressed at your portrayal of all the characters without making any of them into "villains." Oh, and you made me like Goyle and Pansy, although I'm still not entirely sure how. I would love to read more on this, should you be inclined to finish it? If you have an e-mail list of when you update, I should really like to be on it. sidhedreams@yahoo.com

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm not sure if this will continue yet... I'm so pleased that you enjoyed Draco's characterization. I wanted his depth to be apparent. Rowling's is currently narrowing down the playing field with him, but he's still open. He's vicious and spiteful and arrogant... I adore him because I loathe him. I'm happy everyone else was satisfactory as well. I don't think any of them were meant to be villains. Everyone just has different goals, and different ways of getting there, I suppose. I don't have an update list, but I'll try and take note of anyone who has asked for updates, and when I get my site running, I'll e-mail them.

I have to admit, I hate your Draco since the ever fateful Chapter One. I hate your Ginny ceaselessly. You've mucked up Hermione, you sabotaged the Weasley family, you have undermined Dumbledore, and you have scandalized Snape. But I was completely transfixed to your plot for the entire 23 chapters of tense meteorology. I've been using every spare moment in the past three days, neglecting tasks that were in much need of completion, until the very tactful ending of your apparent first installment of a remarkable plot. I hate your characters, yet you bind me to them hypnotically. Please write more soon, I'd love to see where this is headed. - clockwork.strip.tease@gmail.com

Author's Response: I don't know if I should be sad or flattered, reader. Either way, I'm happy to hear your opinion. I hope you didn't neglect too many of your duties though. Thank you!

Loved the story! But I'd like to know if there's more. Since y'know it said it was the end of Book 1 which gives the impression that there will be more. Anyway, I'm not giving a huge in depth review because 1)it would take too long and 2)I'm a judge in the Draco/Ginny Awards so you'll see what I thought anyway.

Wow, this story has really pulled me in. The characterization of Draco is great, so cold, and so evil yet you can't help but like him. I like seeing this flawed Ginny who is naive and cries quite a bit in contrast to the fiery Ginny that you read in stories often. I am reviewing after this chapter because the ending really got to me, and even made me tear up. She is spilling her love for him and yet he is still so cold! Gah, its killing me. Although, I love it...can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: He's brutally cold, but I found a strange respect for his manipulative personality. Ginny, though, is getting more fiery book by book! JKR is really going all out on the redhead stereotype. Thanks!

I like it, but the only thing that bothers me is that they would say "Mum" & "Dad". But, I love it so far!

You have taken what initially a simple plot that might have been used in other D/G fics before, brought it to the next level and made them entirely your own. I thoroughly enjoyed the rich, beautiful imageries and your fine writing. You managed to fleshed out the characters so well that I can feel their angst, understand their foolishness and their dilemma. You are a truly gifted writer--one of the rare breed of writers that can definitely make it out there. I am looking forward to the next book and your other works. Thank you for the joy that you have given to your readers!

Author's Response: Whoa! Thank you! I'm glad you think I can make it out there. I keep thinking that I want to write a book, and so many ideas keep bouncing around in my head, but you know what? I'm helping my fiance write a comic book as of now, so interesting things may come of it. I'm extremely pleased that you believe in me. Thank you.

As i've promised I review after finishing reading. I must say that it was amazing, and thank you very much for not allowing Draco to die - it's so much better that way and besides it leaves an opportunity to write a sequel ... Just want to let you know that i apreciate your hard work and am really amazed by your story.... As i've written in my first review your Draco is just perfect - you managed to make Draco love Ginny while sticking to the canon, thats the huge success! The last chapters was really heartbreaking - the amount of emotion inside Draco was almost unbearable to me to read :D But I wish I could read more Ginny's thoughts, and the thread of Harry's and Zabini's love to Ginny are really underdeveloped! I hope you save them for the sequel! I'd love to read more about Blaise who you've made one of the most interesting character - that rivality between him an Draco - awesome idea though as i said we didnt get a chance to read more about it... Back to Draco and these last chapters - i must say that you fully convinced me that Draco really really LOVES Ginny in those last chapters (20-23) - before, it constantly remainded me more of a sick passion that true love i must say... (I loved the scene when Draco decides to get to know Ginny more and makes her tea! - brillant!!!) I also really liked when Draco said 'My mercy extends only to you' - funny funny.. :D:D I could be talking about my fav moments and scenes in your story for ages and cause i know i cant just let me tell you 'THANK YOU FOR THIS STORY' and please consider writing sequel cause there are so many threads that were left and not developed enough! PS. I've also loved it when Ginny said that Lucius would be proud of Draco! It was really cruel but i liked it :D GREAT job!!!!

Author's Response: I hope you don't mind that I decided to combine my reply to your review in one, instead of two. I'm happy to have made you believe in Draco's affection for Ginny, but its a pity my Ginny disappointed you. In my defense, this story was more about Draco then Ginny, but to give you some hope, I'm thinking of making Book Two have more from Ginny's point of view. I like Draco too much to make in completely from her vantage point, and he's much more interesting to write about, anyway. I'm happy to have satisfied you with the end.

Well, I meant to review after reading the whole story but it's just so amazing that I decided to write a review to share my thoughts with you :D I also thank you for Ron but most of all thank you for your amazing Draco. I've never ever read a story where he is really himslef if you know what i mean... I'm glad to read about his emotions and am really thankful that you didnt change him completly! he is still arrogant and cold and it makes him more real. I'm tired of reading other DracoGin stories where he becomes all sweet and good, your characters are amazing cause you dont need to change them to show their reactions and emotions. Besides Draco and Ginny, I really like the behaviour and overall reactions of Hermione, Harry (though you dont develop his character too much!) and Ron of course. The fights between them are just perfect especially those with Hermione - her 'affair' with Snape is also nicely written :D Oh there is so much in this story that I want to talk about! Character of Blaise Zabini, Pansy, amazing Goyle - I've never thought his chracter can be so much developed! You've done a really god job :D So thank you for saving Draco from changing into nice and sweet boy! (though his insults is sometimes really annoying - it even made me scream at the screen asking Ginny how can she allow him saying those things!) There is only one thing that I didnt like that much - Ginny's offer to become draco's lover. It was rather unexpected and you didnt even give us some insight to the Ginny's thoughts about this issue... The same with actually sleeping with Draco. I'd really loved to read how she handled it. She is 16 and lost her virginity to all of her friends' nemesis and she didnt have chance to talk about it with nobody... It jus seems a little bit strange that we didnt get a glimpse of what she was thinking then... Apart from this I can say that by now your story is one of my favourite (and I've read a lot!). mainly because of amazing character of Draco that you've created (Yes, you actually created him cause JKR hasnt really done it!) Ok, I'm off reading the remaining chapters (i have a terrible feeling that you've killed Draco at the end - and this chapter made even more sure about it, Hope i'm wrong!) Great job, you're really talented person. I'll review one more time when I finish reading :D

This is a profoundly beautiful fanfiction. I was stunned an awed by your writing style. The depth of character and emotion you portrayed was astoundingly intuitive and realistic. This story leaves me in awe of your talent. I stumbled upon this website and idly began reading random fics--I must admit that previously I have not been a Ginny/Draco shipper until I read this fic. Your portrayal of events is so utterly depressing, but completely true to the characters and situations they find themselves in. You had me crying in the final scenes of this story! The tangled web of relationships was astounding...I loved how Dumbledore and Draco outlined them all. Blaise's plight struck me as particularly hopeless and sad. Your description of Ginny and Draco's impossible love struck me as an excruciatingly painful relationship--the description of their utter separation of classes was excellently written. I also like the fact that you didn't change Draco's essential character and that he was still essentially an arrogant wealthy racist snob. I was particularly taken with your attention to detail and also heartily enjoyed the Hermione/Snape interaction--are you planning on developing that further in the sequel?

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your review. I'm happy to have 'turned you to the dark side...' Ugh. Too much Star Wars. SS/HG interaction will of course be continued, though to what end is unknown. It was depressing, wasn't it? I think its the only way it could be. 'The course of true love never did run smooth,' though in this case, I think its running over a boulder pit filled with land mines. Draco is a racist, arrogant, pompous ass. I love him.

I was tiring of going through empty, plotless, emotionless Ginevra/Draco fan fictions and am thankful I finally found this one. All I can say is that this story is simply beautiful. I cannot express how this story captivated me. You're writing has such a poetic feel to it that the words just seem to flow and bind the whole story together. You never failed to fully depict the characters as they truly are. I began reading this at 11 pm on a school night, and continued to read until 2:30 am despite my best efforts. Even then, I hadn't completed the story. I even attempted to finish a chapter at school. I finally finished it this afternoon. I must admit that I was getting tired of recieving such little emotion from Draco, until I finally realized that this is how he truly is. He is not some bad boy gone good, as many authors like to say. Your perception of Draco is exactly how I imagine JK Rowling would write him if she was, in fact, writing your story. Ginny took a while to grow on me, and I could not stand her naivity, but I understand that it is probably how she would have acted. I am also very glad that you used her real name - Ginevra - because I think it truly is a gorgeous and powerful name. However, I would've liked to have seen some scenes with the mirror Draco gave to Ginevra. I thought it was a great idea in the first place, and I was hoping it would've been mentioned somewhere again. I am an avid fanfiction reader, and am so pleased that I have finally found a fanfic that I feel deserves my sacrifice of sleep. I don't usually enjoy stories that are sequels, because the ending always leaves me unsatisfied. However, I am reading the Harry Potter series, aren't I? :) I am so pleased that you are writing a sequel! Please continue to work. You are truly blessed with the gift of writing.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your thoughts, Alyssa. I lost many, many nights working on it, so I can understand the sacrifice you've made, lol. The sequel... Ah, the sequel... I can only hope its met with as much happiness.

-faints-this story was beautiful. The pain of loss the pleasure of innocence... its all interwoven so gracefully. i have been reading this story for a long time and the ending was something i feared terribly because we all knew it would end like that, they would never be together. It must have been hard to write huh? i was more scared though, that you would not uphold to the immaginings of my mind, as many writers have done before. Believe me when i say that you broke all apprehensions, the ending was beautiful and heartbreakingly so. please continue your writing, and i'd be glad to help with the new website. -lisha (eternal_clowmistress@hotmail.com)

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Hard to write? I think I was inspired, so it wasn't hard. I loved every minute of it. I'm really happy to have not disappointed. I hope the end met your expectations well.

Hello again! I don't know if you're still reading reviews, but I just reread the story (not all of it--just from chapter 6, approx.) and wanted to mention a couple of things. First to answer your question--I thought of Blaise when Ginny pushed Draco down because in Blaise's moment of heartbreak, he trips and hates himself because Draco never falls down. It was sort of a Blaise-vindication moment (and it was probably bad of me to cheer that Blaise now had one up on Draco). Also, I wanted to ask if you changed something in the story--when Draco says that he WILL have Ginny, even if he can't marry her, did you change Dumbledore's response? Or am I just being a spaz? Thanks!

Author's Response: I DID change Dumbledore's response! I can't believe you noticed! I'm very impressed! And don't worry about your affection for Blaise. You made me see a lot of things from a new perspective. This story was made better because of your contribution and commentary.

Wow...for the past week I have been obsessively reading this story, but tests, and schoolwork prevented me from leaving a review until now. I just wanted to let you know that this is a beautiful story. Not just the plotline, but the writing is beautiful as well. You are a very talented story teller and a writer. The characterization of every character -- Draco, Ginny, Blaise, Pansy, Goyle, Ron, Harry, Hermione, Luna, and Snape -- was just amazing. I love how everyone was so human with human flaws and real personalities. I can't wait until you begin writing the next book :) Wonderful work! --Waiyza [http://www.livejournal.com/users/waiyza/]

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm happy you were left pleased, if not content. Writing the characters as human was my main goal, so if I accomplished that, then I'm happy.
