This is the perfect perfect portrayal of what was going on in Draco's head when this all happened. Well, perfect as in this is realistic and human and what I thought he'd be thinking. It's the best piece of writing that I've read post- HBP that is about/or even incorporates HBP Draco events. It is great.

Aw, this has such potential for a longer fic! Perhaps Ginny is studying under Madame Pomfrey and is there when Draco wakes up?
::duh duh duhhhhh!!::
So yeah, nice fic-let!

Author's Response: I'm not sure whether or not to take offence to the whole 'duh duhhhh' thing, so I'm just going to ignore it. It is a one shot. I just wanted to show a little glimpse into the scene that Rowling wrote. Sorry!

That scene was one of my favorites with Draco in it. You portrayed the emotion that I felt reading Rowling's work perfectly. Great job.

Author's Response: Thanks!

Thank you for yet another well written fic. I greatly enjoy reading your work. This one really captured that scene well. It was a good interpertation of Draco's state of mind.

Author's Response: Thanks!

And AGAIN I am reminded of why you are my most favorite fanfic writer out there. This is beautiful yet so painful that it breaks my heart.

Author's Response: Thanks. Draco is really quite a sad character, I think.

One word: Awesome. That was beautifully written and nicely interpreted. I like the D/G in it too - subtle. It fits with the mood and theme wonderfully. Excellent work. I'll be keeping an eye out for more of your work.

Author's Response: Thank you very much.

The last few paragraphs are my favorite, when Draco is face to face with Harry...y you just seem to capture that moment so clearly. I came here looking for another fic update and what a pleasant treat to find yours instead!

Author's Response: Thank you!

Great! Great! Great! You have such talent! I came to your page as soon ans i finished reading 'before the storm' and i absouloutly loved 'bitter sour'. I also want to remind you, and encourage you to continue to write the sequel for 'before the storm'. Thanks!

The bathroom scene was one of my favorite from the book. It seemed to me to be the first time JKR made Draco really really human, and remembered that he was still really young. This short was an amazing accompaniment. I loved it. Thank you so much for writing it.

Author's Response: Rowlings gave him new dimension by putting that bathroom scene in the book. Draco's no longer the one dimensional bully, he has feelings and fears, and above all, he's frightened.

Wow. Very well written. I imagine that was just what Draco was feeling at the time. Also, I think you should write a sequel to "Before the Storm" Please keep in mind that this is FAN fiction, so its okay if it doesn't go right along with the books. I promise you that if you write one, I will read it and I know I won't be the only one.

Author's Response: Thanks.

First off, let me say that it is an absolute treat to read your writting again....I have honestly missed it. Second, this is the first review that I have posted since reading the HBP, so you must forgive me if I am a little rusty on the review-leaving antics. WOW! That was superurb, it really was. We only see things as they happen from Harry's point of view, so when we read the HBP, we only saw this from Harry's eyes. But, Draco was also a mess, becasue we felt sympathy for him, through Harry. I just wanted to congradulate you, because I no longer feel that this scene is one sided. I understand that this is fan fiction, and Harry's point of view was the real thing, but this IS HOW Draco felt. We all saw it when we read this scene, we just didn't feel it, but thanks to you, we do. Thank you so much for this...IT IS AMAZING!!!!!

Author's Response: Um, thanks. I can't claim to know what Rowlings was thinking for Draco in the bathroom scene, but I interpreted it as best I could. Glad to see it's appreciated.

That's really deep. I love Draco's bathroom scene because it shows that he really does have a heart and loves his mother very deeply. You captured the emotion that I thought Draco was feeling when I read the bathroom scene perfectly. Kudos to you.

Author's Response: Thank you. I like the new Draco facet Rowlings has shown us. I'm fascinated to see where she takes him now.

That was really beautiful and poingent. I could really see that happening, him thinking those things in canon. As for you little post-HPB update in your profile..I definitely think you should write the sequel to Before the Storm. It is such a great story and I'm absolutely certain that no one will care that it will have turned into an alternate universe type story. Your writing is just too good and you've hooked too many of us in your world to just leave us all hanging *gives you big puppy dog eyes*...xoxo

Author's Response: Thank you very much, and I'm working on it. I've invested a lot of time into BtS, so I can't just abandon it. Time will tell.

"...he is more Malfoy than man." Beautiful line, and a beautiful fic to accompany the canon.

Author's Response: Thank you.

You are a fantastic writer, and this small piece proves that even more. Your stories draw the reader in and makes them feel exactly what the characters are going through. Not many people have that talent. I know how you feel about the whole HBP fiasco, but I really hope you write the sequel. So what if the story can't be true. Not everything turns out like we plan, but that shouldn't stop us from dreaming. You have a gift for writing, and with that gift you have made so many people fall in love with your story, Before the Storm. And I know I'm not alone in hoping to see what happens next.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. You're very generous with compliments, and I'm flattered. Thank you for taking the time to let me know how you feel. I'm sure the new movie with inspire me.

That is really beautiful. You have captured exactly what I expect Draco was feeling at the time. Very well done. You might want to add a spoiler warning at the beginning, however, for those who have not yet read HBP.

Author's Response: You are right, Embellished. I should have realized that adding it to the little warnings underneath wouldn't be enough. I never read those! I've corrected it. Thanks for calling me on it before I got angry reviews.
