OMG! OMG! OMG! It's an...illustration? Okay, after I saw the pictures, I remembered you told us the next post was going to be drawing rather than a chapter, but I forgot. Arrgghhhh! Anyway, nicely done. And don't worry - Ron's sweater is HIDEOUS! I will now slink away, suck up my disappointment, and get back to writing.

Author's Response: Haha, I did warn you. In bold letters. But don't worry, it probably won't happen ever again. ;)

Lovely! I am enamoured just at the second chapter of this story with how real you made Draco - not a bloody robot, but a real person! Keep up the fantastic work!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad you like it so far and I hope you feel the same about the rest of it.

Yay!! Love the illustrations (especially Ron's sweater ;)...please post soon!!!

Author's Response: Haha, thanks! I like the sweater myself. I actually modeled it after one my friend's cold weather wear.

Author's Response: Hmm, you're right. I think I'm going to include more DG action than I had originally anticipated. Sometimes I get too caught up in Draco!

Oh!! Please update soon!!! Please?!

Author's Response: Um, I'll try? But with the site down, I have to admit that I haven't been writing as much. But thanks for leaving me a message. Guilt can do so much.

Good lord, woman, you've managed to turn the world upside down in the last couple of chapters. All those decent, noble, do-gooders have gone bad - from Harry and Ron and Ginny to, of all people, Arthur Weasley. They've all been too quick to jump to the wrong conclusion without anything resembling the merest hint of a fair trial for poor Hermione and Draco. And for Arthur to put his selfish need to save his own son above what Draco's life and what he needs to do for his mother and the Order, well, it's blasphemy - pure and simple blasphemy! Blaise and Draco, two "nasty" Slytherins going to Hermione's rescue (and perhaps a bit more than just a rescue for Blaise) and then Draco selflessly deciding to help Fred, well, it's all so very unSlytherin. The only thing holding up in this turbulent scene is that tiny, unmistakable connection between Draco and Ginny, despite all conscious thought and desire on both their parts. That connection has made Draco a better, strong person, and has made Ginny, well, a jealous unreasonable witch with an attitude way bigger than she deserves. And what of that healing stone, anyway? What does that do? Can it heal all of the emotional turbulence and angst running rampant in this fic? If so, I'll take a dozen, please.

Oh, my favorite line in this one was, "stood a thin, angular boy with white-blond hair," because I love your characterization of Draco with all of his vulnerabilites and esp. his physical weakness in this one.

I am thorougly enjoying the questioning of the usual Hogwarts assumptions about characters and houses and forcing us to look further than that. Yes, it does make Neville look like a bit of a hero in that regard, doesn't it? Whew. Signing off until your next, next chapter! I enjoy your illustrations, but I enjoy your writing even more. -fallenwitch

Author's Response: I really really should be working right now and I apologize if some of this is incoherent since I'm burning on two hours of sleep...however, I could not help but respond on account of the Gryffindors. I don't think I've completely inverted them but showed, hopefully (but please let me know if I have failed to do this), that Gryffindors aren't entirely noble and infalliable but rather, human like everyone else. Likewise, Draco and Blaise are human too. Not entirely evil but suspect to feelings of duty, compliance, lust/love. While Arthur's move was selfish, I think it was natural and almost beyond reproach. He doesn't think Draco will DIE but he knows his own son will without the proper assistance. Arthur stands at a divide, between duty (to Draco, to the Order) and love (for his own son). To me, the choice is clear. And as for your other speculation, to be answered as soon as I can...Well, sorry for sounding off but I do value your assessment and I hope that I have not horribly misrepresented these characters. Again, thanks for a very thorough review!

Good chapter. I do like how you're tying it in with HBP. I'm eager to see how you continue with it. Update soon. :D

Oh. My. Gosh. This is one of THE best fanfictions I've ever read! I can't wait for the next update.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! It's always very exciting to get new reviewers and reviews like this especially!

*Sighes deeply* You have a wicked sence of humor. I just love the drunken Ron and Draco and the kiss heard 'round Hogwarts. But to have Baise and Draco sit with Hermione, classic. Of course Neville would stay with her. He is the most noble Gryffindor in my hummble opinion. But Remus in love with Narcissa? Didn't see that coming. Great story telling and a very good chiff hanger. Do you work for CBS?

Author's Response: Yes, I love Neville. I need to give him a better role. But alas, next time... As for Narcissa and Remus, it all goes back to the very beginning, when Draco finds those letters in Lucius' desk. Was it four months ago I posted that chapter? Anyway, thanks for the review! And do you mean CBS the television network? Why do you ask? Just a mere college student with a part-time non-media related job.

Way to go I really like this chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad too many people aren't screaming at me for that. But I even feel I should give Draco a break after this chapter. ;)

Why didn't she give him the stone? Or put it on him while he was performing the healing?
Grr!! Think child think!
I am really looking forward to your next post illustrations or not!
Update soon!

Author's Response: Hmm, I didn't even think of that. Not that I've forgotten about the stone all together but I, like Ginny, was too absorbed by the entire scene. I'll try my best to update...

I think your references are quite apt for the feel of this story, the PreRaphaelite paintings, Edgar's scene from King Lear---I'm not sure how the birthday fits in yet, unless Draco's being whisked away by the Erlkonig and that's what upsets Fleur. Beautifully written and fun to read as always. Waiting on the edge of my chair to see what happens next.

Author's Response: Thanks for guessing! I don't think I'll answer all the questions...yet...but soon... Anyway, thank you for such a lovely review. Cheers!

I'd say you're a little bit on the obscure side. I'm rather confused. But that was good, and made me very sad. I'm attached to Draco. So, just know, if you kill him, I'm likely to want to cry. Though I also idolize Draco and rarely actually cry.

Author's Response: Well, I hope to resolve a few things pretty soon and hopefully it will clear some things up for people. Anyway, it's really gratifying to know that others have become attached to this Draco. I AM rather fond of him myself!

Great job! Can't wait til the next one. I can't believe you're so mean to him. But yet... I still love this story.

Author's Response: I know, poor Draco. But when you're beautiful and rich, you have to work a little once in awhile, yes? Thanks for the review btw!

Aww. Poor Hermione... Poor Draco... Poor Ginny... Poorness all around. Everything's just a massive bunch of misunderstandings. Update soon!

Author's Response: So the case seems to be... Hmm, maybe I need to rename this fic. Thanks for reviewing btw!

Yay! You updated I love you so much right now! I'm glad that you made Ginny pissed off I know it was the potion but Ginny is always putting others before her and its good that she is acting to defend herself. Draco on the other hand should be a man... a macho man and be like "Woman! Explain your self NOW" Hahaha. No but seriously good job on the chapter it was not as angsty as I though it was going to be so I was rather relieved.

Author's Response: I'm glad you like angry Ginny. We can't have both of them moping about, after all. And Draco was angry for a while...but I DO like him being mopey. =)

i don't blame ginny. i guess.. i would have been really mad if i were her. i'm on her side. sorry folks.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I think Ginny is allowed some righetous anger (obviously), though I hope her sympathetic side is also discernable.
Name: Kisou reviewed Chapter 6 - Solace on Apr 11, 2006 06:19 pm
I'm still rather confused about the potion thing that made Draco and Hermione kiss. I'd like a little more explaination. Maybe Snape is just too smart for me. I don't know, maybe you could have Draco explain it to Ginny or something.

Author's Response: Hmm, I'll see if I can work it in, but I don't want to be blatant about either. *I* also don't think it's as impt as other things...but that's er, my own humble opinion. Thanks for pointing it out. It's very helpful.
