This is absolutely gorgeous. I've read it before and loved it. It's always resonated with me. The final note of hope means so much. It's truly amazing, and it's always made me choke up a bit, though that's just between the two of us.

I really enjoyed your story. It left room for hope, hope for them that maybe in the future they have a chance.

I can't remember if this was a one shot or not, but I love it.
It was dis-jointed, it all sort of started clicking after a while.
Very nicely written.

The imagery in this story is really lovely. It is a nice contrast to stories where love begins in the spring, and yet not without hope.

Carson McCullers' "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter" was a childhood favorite, and this beautiful fic is now a new favorite. The tightly controlled, hauntingly frugal writing mirrored their emotional display and the plot line as I have rarely seen. The tension between the two and the angst was superb as was the heartbreaking ending. Thanks for the ride. It was first class all the way. -fallenwitch
