Loved Ginny's remark about Snape cloning. LOL My heart was beating so fast when Ginny stood up for Claire! :D I wonder what's going to happen?
I am a new reader. I loved the first chapter! This looks to be a great AU, which AUs are hard to do right. I love the idea of the social structure. I also like your Blaise, and Hermione teasing Ginny about him. Cute. Can't wait to see how Draco and Ginny get together!

I'm a pretty big- okay, HUGE- fan of this story, and reading a new chapter just determines what an excellent story you've created.
And Draco, ohhhh, Draco. I just love him so very much. The scene where he's giving Ginny a choice and the one where he tells her that, if she wants, she can cross the ballroom hand in hand with him for everyone to see, you just had me open mouthed. The way Ginny just brushed it off, oblivious to the fact that Draco WANTED her to do it, wanted to basically declare his love for her in front of everyone, wanted her to be with him... I think it was my favourite moment in the whole chapter.
Love this story, and am silently praying you don't have another writer's block so that hopefully, can update soon.
Author's Response: Hmm... I'm not entirely sure he wanted her to take him up on his offer. It was a bit of a test - think of the way all the other girls acted around him at the ball, and what Angelique said about what everyone would think, seeing the two of them together, and how natural it was for her to immediately brush it off is part of her appeal to him. But it was also a reassurance to her that he's not afraid to be seen with her, afraid of associating with a Weasely - he only ever picked on that because it was a way for him to get under her skin, which is what sets him apart from everyone else at Hogwarts.rnrnThanks for reading and for you kind comments.

Seriously, though - awesome chapter, I loved it. Getting back into your story again feels like wrapping up in a warm blanket, it's so comforting. It's one of my three favorite stories on here.
One thing I would like to see later on in the story is Ginny choosing to be with Draco. Not being coerced into it, or feeling as though it's the "right" option . . . but actually thinking about it and making the conscious decision to be with him because she wants to.
She's such a strong character and lately I've gotten the feeling that she is just going along with whatever he is doing.
Author's Response: Exactly!! She's been swept along with the Malfoy and his powerful determination... She does need to make a conscious decision to be with him because it's what she WANTS and what she NEEDS. But he's still a mystery to her, that's she's finding a bit more about, and it's muddling everything up.

Author's Response: I actually didn't really have anyone in mind for Blaise. Maybe the Asian actors who've portrayed his HYD / Meteor Garden characters (Oguri Shun and Vic Zhou), since that's what inspired the plot.

Wow, this is such a great story. It took hours to read all of the chapters, what with the chapters being so long (which in this case is only good) and English not being my mother tongue. I'm usually a little skeptical about AU-based fics, but this one turned out to be amazing. Very well planned and written, so keep up the good work and the updates coming. :-)
Well here is my review of your story so far....the character development have been so well linked to Harry Potter that i am impressed....a little secret i actually read your story before i knew abt HYD, and i loved your story it was thought provoking, funny when needed it to be and very easy to imagine that this all could be true if DH had never happened... i for one loved Meteor Garden which is the Taiwanese version of HYD becuz i though the guy was a much better acter than the Japanese guy.... i even checked your livejournal... i too live near toronto and the allure of designer wares are hard to resist but im sure you are coping in your new appartment... hats off to you...!!! i recommend seeing Soulmates the best drama so far...

When I was first watching HYD, I couldn't believe just how much it seemed like the two main characters just walked out of a D/G fic, which made my brain start spinning to figure out how I could WRITE that fic, and what it would take to make it work, which is how I ended up with this current, completely twisted incarnation of JKR's world.
