Interesting beginning though I think you could have explained the whole "fallen star tradition" part a bit better or further but maybe that's for a latter chapter? Also the students having to say their wishes aloud in front of the whole school seems a little embarrassing and far-fetched but I guess at Hogwarts everything is possible; other than that I thought everything else made for a very sound structure for your story. I especially loved Hermione’s “Irresistible?” Hermione asked, horrified. “What has the world come to?” It had me laughing out loud and genuinely empathizing with Hermione's character which is very rare so good job. Please update soon.

Ooh!!! What could Draco Malfoy possible want with Ginny? Well, I can think of a few things.
I honestly thought that Hermione was referring to Draco at the beginning. All the descriptions sounded like him. Poor Ginny has an unwanted Hufflepuff (who is very annoying!)
This is off to a wonderful start! It has bits of humor and I just absolutely love it!
