hahah i laughed all the way through this. thank god it's corrected in my mind! this is totally how i'm going to think the series ended for the rest of my life. psh. i don't think ginny would let harry name one of their kids "albus severus" anyway. those names don't even go together!

Author's Response: No, if Gin had had a say one of the children would have been named Fred. I still say the epilogue was all made up of Harry's wish for the future as he watches Gin run off with Draco to live happily ever after!

Lovely! Brilliant! I was disappointed by the epilogue (no mention of Luna AND a receding hairline) but this just made it all better. Thank you.

Author's Response: You're welcome! I'm glad I could make it a bit better!

I have to agree. I wasn't to thrilled with the epilogue; i mean it was cute and i expected what i thought it would be...but i wasn't 'into' it.....

thanks for the wonderful story!!

Author's Response: You're welcome. I think I could have stomached it better if the epilogue hadn't been such an afterthought. There was no alluding to it, no lead up and certainly no real relationship between Harry and Ginny.

Thank you.  I have now replaced my memories of the epilogue that was with this.

Cassiopeia is a wonderful name just like this DH Epilogue! Can I please print this out and attach it to my book in the place of jkr's horrid trash also known as the canon epilogue? I screamed a full 3 minutes when I read the Scorpius bit. What an outrage! It's quite obvious that she was going out of her way making Draco look bad... Thank you so much for this!!!!!!!!!!

Author's Response: You're welcome! And you're more than welcome to print it you'd like!

Oh thank you so much for that! My view of both Draco and Ginny had been completley skewered by all the fannon that I expected so much more out of the characters in the final volume of the series. I was surely dissapointed with the outcome though, honest to God I didn't expect a D/G ending. I still felt that Draco was done a huge disservice; his character had little development and didn't have a whole lot of depth. So thank you for this little tidbit of the way of fannon! I have been waiting since I finished the book for someone to post a post DH fic to see how they possibly manipulated it to a D/G paring. I think you did a wonderful job, thanks again! (Reviewer Note: My purpose was not to try to bash J.K.'s writing I think she's an amazing writer, this was merely my opinion on the how the character was written for this story. Alas this wasn't his story so for her to go off on a completley random Draco tangent would of been well random.) Thanks again!

Author's Response: Ooh, there will be more I promise you! This was just my gut reaction to the book. Let me have some time to stew on it and there will be lots of fic that deals with DH sans the epilogue which was just tacked on anyway!

I love this epilogue so much better. Scorpius? seriously? Made me want to puke.

Here's a possible explanation for JKR's obvious digs at Draco

"People have been waxing lyrical [in letters] about Draco Malfoy, and I think that's the only time when it stopped amusing me and started almost worrying me. I'm trying to clearly distinguish between Tom Felton, who is a good looking young boy, and Draco, who, whatever he looks like, is not a nice man. It's a romantic, but unhealthy, and unfortunately all too common delusion of — delusion, there you go — of girls, and you [nods to Melissa] will know this, that they are going to change someone. And that persists through many women's lives, till their death bed, and it is uncomfortable and unhealthy and it actually worried me a little bit, to see young girls swearing undying devotion to this really imperfect character, because there must be an element in there, that "I'd be the one who [changes him]." I mean, I understand the psychology of it, but it is pretty unhealthy. So, a couple of times I have written back, possibly quite sharply, saying [Laughter], "You want to rethink your priorities here."

There you go. Now it is quite clear that JKR wants to spoil Draco forever by saying that he has receding hairline. As if...

Another possibility is to simply keep the Boy Who Lived, dead, but which JKR quite hastily corrected because she feared the wrath of children. Make up your mind already! He was supposed to die! It made so much more sense than how he miraculously comes alive! Well, anyway, thanks for this balm to my depressed soul...

Author's Response: It's more than obvious she was trying to make us hate Draco because we don't love her precious Saint Potter as much as she does. She's entirely too close to her own main character to see that he really is a tosspot wanker toad. I recall her saying once upon a time that she couldn't understand why all the girls went for Draco when she'd given them a perfectly nice hero to love. Uh, Jo, I do believe we like Draco because he's much more human than Harry will ever be. Draco gets into trouble and is punished for it, Harry does not. Draco is all talk up until HBP when he's under a lot of stress and Harry doggedly pursuing him and he snaps. Harry and mates hex Draco beyond recognition at the of OotP and stuff him in a luggage compartment... Harry very nearly killing Draco in the bathroom... Draco grows a conscience and listens to it. He does not become a killer because in his heart and soul he is not one. Harry doesn't grow at all - he's still the same self-centered, reckless bastard he was in book one. He shows little regard for his friends and even less for the girl he supposedly loves. Ginny would *never* be happy with him because he'd ignore her in favor of Ron and Hermione's company. Ginny was just a means to end for Harry - a family and nothing more. She deserves better!

I. love. you! I do, you're fabulous! You are crowned the first sane person to write a brilliant rewrite of the tragedy known as the epilogue.

Favourite lines:

“No, we don’t have a name for him yet, but it sure as hell won’t be Scorpius.”

“My hairline really isn’t receding, is it?”

You hit my two beefs on the nose.

Did I mention I adore you? Well, I do.

Author's Response: Awwah, thank you! *hugs* I'm so glad that I could bring you some cheer after that travesty that was the epilogue. Draco demanded I fix it immediately :)

Very Cute! I know for a fact that the epilogue to DH made me gag. I truly hated Rowling for her writing on and about Draco, and can't help but whole heartedly agree that this is epilogue is much much better! And what was with those names "Albus Severus Potter" and "Scorpius Malfoy"? I could see those children cursing their parents for those names. Great Job!

Author's Response: Thank you! I was livid at the final dig she had to get in Draco with the receding hairline comment and the nameless with. *screams*
