I must say that the beginning of this one-shot wasn't one of my favourites; the ending, however, seems to make up for the lack of realism and disjointedness earlier on. The symmetry in Ginny and Draco asking questions about Pansy and Harry, respectively, seems very artificial.

The paragraph I particularly liked was the one where she 'chooses green over grey...' as it's draws together how both Ginny and Draco change over time as they mature. The ending line was particularly effective, too.

Author's Response: Don't worry. I'm not very fond of this one either.

Goodness your writing is so hauntingly beautiful. I really feel the characters when I read any of your stories. I love how you portray Ginny's torment over a lost love...It's so tastefully done, while still managing to be compliant with that HORRID not D/G epilogue of doom (I don't like how cheesetastic and predictable JK Rowling wrote that epilogue, but hey, she did give us the wonder of Harry Potter and unintentionally the goodness of D/G :) ) Anyways, thank you for this one shot and I hope you continue to write more stories if you can find the time. =)

Nicely done. That was a nice way to blend D/G with DH Compliance. Great Job. My favourite bit was the last paragraph. Beautifully written.

Tis beautiful. I love it and hate it at the same time. I love how it takes years for Ginny to see that she made the wrong choice and hate that is takes her so long. Its wonderfully written, the constant comparissons, choosing green over grey, black over blonde. I love it. Amazing job.

How achingly beautiful and yet so wonderfully in tune with canon! Goodness it is fantastic to see you writing again :D! The constant comparison between Draco and Harry is simply brilliant. You didn't cast Harry as an insolent pillock in order to make Draco look good, rather you changed Ginny's perception of him which was much more psychologically and emotionally charged! The bitter resolve at the end that she made a mistake and yet cannot do anything about it was so poignant! Another beautiful piece!

Beautiful prose, and well-woven into cannon. I love her comparison of Draco and Harry--very true. Thank you!

Nice to see you again!
Your writing style is just amazing, all the small details that make it so vivid, the doomed romance, Ginny torn between Draco and Harry. They're aware of how doomed their relationship is, but they still move on, loving and hating each other...and how, when they meet again, they've changed, and all that's left is memories.... (just in case you missed it, I'm still talking about what I liked about it) I love this fic, it's strange there's only three reviews because it's great. Thanks for sharing :)

Hi, it's good, sad and a little bitter but maybe this it's the way what the things goes. I like it very much these lines: “she has lost the vivacity and audaciousness of youth to the comfort and tenderness of motherhood, while he has lost his cockiness and cruelty to the security of frigid arrogance” ..by the way it's good to see you again....
