initially, when i came across this story and started reading it,i figured it was a lot like masquerade,a fic written by draigonfire, which i had read long ago,and because of that, like i kinda guessed before hand that ginny was scorpious' mom..but after that, the way the story developed was definitely interesting..i love the way the characters and story are developing..and i love your draco too..cant wait to read more..do update soon!

Author's Response: Yup, I wondered if I would be giving it away by mentioning "Masquerade," but I wanted to be sure to credit my source material. I'm so glad you've enjoyed the story anyway!!!

you rock! your fic is awsome, really. your plot is interesting and emotional. it's been a long time since I enjoyed a DG without smut in the first page. because the other ones are plotless and smutless. But yours, yours is true and live. and I can't wait to see the next chapter. (I feel too bad for scorpious and rose though)

Author's Response: Oh, thank you very much for your kind review. :-) I'm not big on writing smut, though I enjoy reading it. ;-)

I just read this and I absolutely love it! I love the unique plot, and the story has a lot of depth. You said you were starting to hate this story, but pleeeeaaseee finish it!!! My only bone to pick is that I doubt Draco would have hated the product of him and the woman he wanted (loved?). But this story is great. I can't wait for Draco's side of the matter : )

Author's Response: That's an interesting point. That certainly is why Draco was interested in Scorpius to begin with--because of his own ego, the idea that someone made by *him* must be worthy. But really, once Ginny left, he didn't want to deal with Scorpius too much. Thanks for your review! Draco's POV is gonna be a real doozy. Hee.

Oh, Ginny's cruel. A mother couldn't be that cruel. And abandoning her son? It's just not realistic!

Author's Response: Well, actually, mothers abandon their sons all the time. But I hope that the new chapter I'm posting will convince you a little more of why staying was just too painful for Ginny.

this story keep getting better and better...i had to reread again and now I'm up to date...Please update soon! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I posted another chapter and am waiting for it to go up. :-)

Oh God, you must update now! you can't leave us here pitying poor Ginny and poor Scorpius! please!

OMG I've only just found out about your computer! :( I completely understand what that feels like. We really need to start backing-up things!

And even though I said I disliked TWCGinny, I like disliking her! If that makes any sense. Her personality suits the context of the story and I hope you haven't gone and changed anything! The same goes with Draco.

Good luck with rewriting the chapters; I can't wait! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I hate that it's taken a year and a half to reply and update...but hopefully you're still around and will still enjoy the story. Either way, thanks again! Oh, and as for disliking Ginny--yeah, it's true. Neither Ginny nor Draco are meant to be good people in this story. I still hoped that people would sympathize with them in spite of this; I hope that later chapters will accomplish this, since I haven't yet.

By the way, the wait is totally worth it!
Because this is great, like I get totally I don't know sucked (gosh I hate this word) in this story !
Thanks a gazillions for this great story!

Author's Response: Thank you! I appreciate that.

AHHHHHHHHHH! THATS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE I SAY!
How can she say that for f***ks sake, I mean she's like an adult and he was a kid didn't she see that he was just trying to gain approval of his shitty father, because he was never there before...it was the only way for him...OH GINNY IS AN IDIOT!
A 9 year old for f***ks sake, 9!

Author's Response: Sigh. I guess you can look at my responses to other reviewers' comments on this. While I don't entirely disagree with you, I maintain that 9 years old is old enough to discriminate between right and wrong. It depends on the kid, of course, but I think Scorpius had the necessary morals and judgment to discern that his father was mistreating Ginny. Whether the fact that he considered Draco his biological father and only considered Ginny his mother influenced his behavior, I won't say. It's an explanation that's been offered by other reviewers, and I respect. (to me Ginny was *always* as good as a mother to him, so I'm not positive I believe that. But it's a theory)

Poor Scrap! (I love that nickname, by the way.)

Ginny is so determined not to let herself get hurt again that she is causing her child to take on the guilt. I really despise her for it - children always copy those powers of authority around them; it's not Scorpius' fault that he wanted to copy Draco's mannerisms. :(

I really hope that there can be some hope for poor Scorpius. I look forward to seeing how this story will progress.

Author's Response: Thank you! I was pretty happy with that nickname, too. As for Ginny, at this point I think she is way past being afraid of getting hurt again-- she's sort of rendered herself incapable of hurt, by not caring. Course, it's all an act. I don't think i'tll take too long for her to come around. ;-) There's definitely hope for Scorpius.

hi, the story is fantastic and very sad. but i likes scrap's initiative to get his mother back.

keep up and pls update soon...

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm proud of Scrap, too. Bad news about the next few chapters though...while I had essentially finished the entire fic, my computer completely died a few days ago. As in kaput, gone, everything lost. I'm pretty sure I will be able to recreate the rest of this fic (though it'll hurt), but it will definitely take longer than I anticipated. Sorry!
Name: Ananyamous reviewed Chapter 6 on Oct 05, 2008 05:26 pm
Aww...this chapter was so sad! I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, it was a bit depressing. Most of the fic is, though...sorry.

Gee, Ginny! A bit harsh, don't you think?! I know I should try to understand a bit from her p.o.v., but I can't! This is the first time I've ever actually disliked Ginny in a fanfic! Poor Scrap. Having such expectations put on you back then. Even now! :(

Will we find out who the unrecognizable man in the photo is any time soon? Is he Ginny's current partner? If so, then I'm glad; because she'll have other reasons for not leaving her 'new life' and won't be returning home so easily! And if the fic's meant to end up D/G, then that'll mean Draco will have to work his arse off to win her back, if that's the direction you're taking the story. Good!

Oh, I can't wait! Great update.

Author's Response: Haha. I love your review. It gave me a lot to think about--for one thing, I have to say that I actively tried to make Ginny unlikable. I got fed up with everyone defending her in past chapters, and ignoring the fact that she had *abandoned* her child simply because she got upset. That said, maybe I went too far. It hurts me that this is the first time you've "ever actually disliked Ginny." I guess that if a reader dislikes a character that much, and is so unable to understand her perspective, then the author has failed. So that kind of sucks, and I've got to maybe change what comes next. OTOH, it's always been clear to me that neither Ginny nor Draco are great people in this fic, and the story of Scorpius' life is that he is caught in between their disastrous behavior. Personally, I've been able to continue liking them despite their actions, but maybe I've got to work harder to make sure that my readers do, too. Lastly, you mentioned that Draco will have to "work his arse off to win her back," which is so spot on, because I struggled with this when completing the story. I wanted them to end up together, but his character had become so irredeemable that I wasn't sure it could happen. Now that I have to rewrite the whole rest of the story (see above--my computer died), I'm not sure whether he'll be able to pull it off! In any case, thank you for your review!

that's true, and i do have to consider that, and i was saying that ginny's response was lame not you're writing. this story is brilliant!
Name: Lynnamae reviewed Chapter 6 on Oct 05, 2008 10:47 am
This story has such an interesting plot. I really like it, though I hope Ginny accepts Scorpius as her son. Great Job!

Author's Response: Thank you!
Name: Flipinpenname reviewed Chapter 6 on Oct 05, 2008 08:06 am
well that is incredibly lame. personally i think that ginny has more growing up to do than scorpious. i mean, he thought she was just a nanny, and who wants a nanny's approval over a parents? so he wanted the father that was rarely around to approve of him, and when he did something he thought that he would approve of, ginny feels betrayed? he didn't know that he was supposed to idolize her as well, she was just a nanny, after all.

Author's Response: I hope you mean that Ginny's reasons were lame, and not my writing. I'm going to assume so, and respond that way. You are 100% right that Ginny needs to grow up more than Scorpius in this story. From the very beginning, it's been that way-- Ginny and Draco are the children in this story, the immature ones, and unfortunately they produced a child together that they don't really know (or care in Draco's case) what to do with. Ginny is still reeling from her relationship with Draco, and poor Scorpius is caught in the middle. Also, you bring up a very, very interesting point--that for Scorpius, Ginny was his nanny, not a parent. I operated on the assumption that there wasn't all that much of a difference. Ginny is really his father and mother and his whole world for 9 years. Isn't she the same as an adopted mother? With this reasoning, both Ginny and I expected more of Scorpius. However, the way you have put it actually explains what happened. Scorpius needed his father's approval because he was his *father*, rather than a nanny, and that's why he starts imitating and siding with Draco. Well. Is that true? Or is it, as I have said below, that Scorpius was caught up in his father's glamor? I'll be honest: I don't know. I imagine it's a mix of both. I do hope, though, that you can see a little of what Ginny was feeling, considering she KNEW Scorpius was her son, and it must have hurt so deeply to see him turn against her.
Name: oxymoron8 reviewed Chapter 6 on Oct 05, 2008 07:32 am
I think that she put to much faith into a small child. He has proved that he is not his father by simply coming after her. He had no reason to defend her then because all he thought of her was as his nanny. Now he knows the truth and has come for her. I like that Luna was able to get to Harry by a simple statetment. These two chapters were amazing. I just re-read this fic a few days ago and was hoping that you would update. So thanks for updating. Will he ever get through to her? And will his finding her lead Draco to her? I don't think that he would let his heir leave him for to long. Happy writing. :)

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I'm glad you liked it. I wrote to another reviewer below about whether I think Scorpius was too young to live up to Ginny's values. I would just add here-- how would Harry have responded at that age? If his father had suddenly appeared and began verbally abusing someone he loved (let's pretend there had been someone Harry loved), would he have objected? I like to think so. Anyways, what else? Oh, I'm glad you appreciated the Luna-Harry moment! I've actually had a lot of fun playing with Harry, Ron, Hermione and Luna, and I'm glad someone has noticed! I don't ship Harry/Luna but if they were together, I think that moment would be very typical of them. Hope you stick with the story!

Wow. Ginny is pretty harsh to poor Scorpius. I mean he was nine. What expectations she had for a child. Right about now I'm feeling like maybe Scorpius is better off without her. She seems to be projecting all of her problems with Draco on him. Scorpius may be realising his follly but I hope Ginny will as well.

Author's Response: Ouch! While I agree with you to an extent, I think that's a little harsh--besides, if not Ginny, who does Scorpius have? Also, you're right, Scorpius was nine. Is that too young to distinguish wrong from right? I don't think so. I think Scorpius was very carried away with how glamorous Draco is, and he sided with his father despite what was essentially Draco's verbal abuse of Ginny. Moreover, Ginny was the only parent, and the only friend, Scorpius had known for years. I personally think he should have been at least indignant on her behalf, but he was more embarrassed by her than anything else. As for your other point about her projecting her problems with Draco onto him. Um, spot on. That's pretty much what this entire fic is about--it's from Scorpius' point of view, but nearly all of his problems are caused by the fact that Draco and Ginny are in love but can't get their act together, and put Scorpius right in the middle of it. So, yeah. There'll be more of that.

Wow.. this is pretty intense! I hope Scorpius manages to convince Ginny to go back with him. & I wonder what happened in the past that made Ginny leave Draco within that one week that they were together. x__x Anyway, love the story.. please update again soon! :)

Author's Response: Yup, intense is my middle name. As for the one week thing...well, you'll find out more about how they got together and whatnot, but I won't really get into why they broke up. Mainly I think it's because Draco showed his true colors--he got crazy possessive, and when he found out Ginny was pregnant I think he sort of used it as a way to trap her into staying with him. As you may have noticed, Draco has always looked at Scorpius as a tool he can use against/on Ginny, and that behavior pretty much started at conception and has continued through the time of this story. Will he ever change? Well...I hold out hoping, but we'll see.

That is so unfair! Ginny had no right to treat him like that. He was a child. I think she is too broken to be thinking straight! Great chapter! I love your characters! I can't wait for the next update.

Author's Response: Yeah, broken is a good word for it. Broken-hearted, maybe. Thank you for the kind review!

I'm so happy to see an update! I really love this story and especially so that it's done in Scorpius' view - it's very different. So although I'm not upset that is little D/G interaction I would still like a quicker update :P Hope this review inspires you to go a little faster - because I really love this story!

Author's Response: Thank you! I definitely will put up the next chapters pretty quickly (quickly starting today, haha). There won't be D/G interaction for awhile, though, so next time I'll put up 2 chapters at once, to try to move us along faster.

I am so elated you updated, this story has so many different facets that can be explored. Draco is such an ass but I hope that he can mend his relationship with Scorpious, Maybe Gin will be able to foster something between the two of them. GJ.

Author's Response: Thank you! He is a true ass, isn't he? I'm hoping the same thing you are...we'll see how it turns out!
