I actually may just end up writing a collection of 'out-takes' from Draco's PoV, since all the conversation Draco and Ginny would have in the companion piece would be the same. I don't know if it's worth it, and it's been so long now . . .

This story was unbelievably sweet! Poor Ginny's struggles were so easy to sympathize with, and her interactions with Draco were pure comedic (and heart-warming) gold.

First, I simply adore what Ginny goes through during the course of this story. She's brilliant. The determination, the humiliation, and the utter faith in the accuracy of romance novel tactics. It is *so* perfect for an adolescent. :D

Then, I can't help but feel totally warmed by the "there was no denying that it was the most beautiful feeling she had ever felt in her whole thirteen years of existence"

I've read this story before, and it was just as good, if not better, reading it a second time around. A true gem.

I've always seen Ginny as a bit of a romantic, and I thought it was only fitting to really play that up while she is still young enough to actually believe that the methods used in fiction work in the real world. I also always wanted their kiss to just be sweet and tender, and nothing at all like the passionate, intense kisses she imagined. Basically, I just wanted this to be cute and fluffy, as well as fulfilling the requirements of the prompt, and I hope I achieved that.

Then her ignoring plans are foiled by Draco ignoring her. She really can't win this one.

Of course in the end Draco comes to his senses and lets her in. Sweet little fluffy reward for our tortured Ginny.

The best part was the last line. Even after getting what she wanted she continues on her oblivious and stubborn wanting ways. Go Ginny!

And I would love a companion story that shows what Draco is thinking in all of this.

Alas, poor hapless Ginny never seems to get her plans to work. I was going to write the 'ignoring' plan, but then I realised it wouldn't be very exciting, and could be just as easily dealt with in a few lines. Much like the drawing and cake idea.

Tortured sounds about right. The poor girl really did make things worse, but she did, eventually, get her reward. Those last few lines were the stuff I added in after the exchange. The original ending didn't quite cut it for me, and then I realised that I could have it come back full circle. She's not trying to get his attention now, she's instead trying to keep his attention. I love the fact she's so determined and crazy in this. It made it so much fun to write.

Anyway, I'm very happy you thought this was a good interpretation of the prompt. I did love your idea, and I wanted to do it justice. I'll be working on the companion fic soon. Right now I'm working on chapter two for Walk Like an Egyptian.

I love the characterization and the complete naivety and how the slytherins were also just kids and they weren't evil or some crap and how you didn't force intense make-out sessions on them :D

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it so much. I always wanted this to just be a cute, simple and light-hearted fic. I wanted the characters to really feel like their age, which is why there are no intense make-out sessions, despite Ginny's daydreams, and everything is just very youthful and awkward. I also didn't want the Slytherins to be evil. To me, they are just your typical bullies in the books. I think JKR makes things far too black and white, and while later in the series the Slytherin boys obviously do become questionable in their behaviour, I still don't think, if given the right situation, that they would be evil.
