I can't believe he did't kiss her!
He should have said this:
“Tsk, tsk, Ginny. That won’t do. If you won’t play your part correctly, how do you expect me to play mine?”
And the his part should be kiss her...meaing his part was to kiss her, ot the other way around.
but it's all for the better, now we have even more tention!

A fabulous beginning! Your descriptions evoke a rich feeling for the scenes and characters in a few choice words. Can't wait to read the rest of the (slightly edited, I think?) story. Thank you for this lovely Christmas present.
