This was very informative, and you touched on a few of my questions from my last review. Was there ever a part of Narcissa that loved Lucius or even liked him at one point in their relationship? In Anise-verse, was he always evil/mad? I wonder if you have ever in a review denied or confirmed that Marie IS NOT Ginny? I must look into that, because I think perhaps she will lose her virginity to young Draco a la Crystal Palace initiation somehow involving time travel and the photograph.. ehh ehh? Can't wait for the next update!

Author's Response: I'm not completely sure about Lucius/Narcissa yet, especially from her POV, but Narcissa did do everything she could to avoid being a victim after she was forced to marry him. She tried to take as much control as possible from the very first, although she couldn't always succeed-- he just had too much power for that. Some very intriguing things will eventually come out about their relationship. I *can* say that it took him time to get to this point, and that he hasn't always been this bad. I think that there were some qualities in Lucius that could have potentially gone either way, and because of his own choices, they went in the wrong way. Some of these parallel Draco's choices, and we have yet to see exactly what Draco will choose. One thing I'll say is the Lucius's unhingedness started at a VERY definite point, Draco doesn't know what it was but we'll find out eventually, and this is very important to the plot. ;)

Nope, I've never confirmed or denied that Marie = Ginny. In one way, the answer is so complicated that I'm not sure there's actually a way to even answer it with a "yes" or "no." But in another way, when the answer actually DOES come out it's going to be one of those "OMG! I get it! It's all so simple now!" moments. ;) Anyway... I'm working on Chapter 41 right now. Coming soon!

oh lovely. i just can't wait to finally read the chapter 41. thanks for the amazing guide to this fantastic world.

Author's Response: Thank you! :) I just finished a couple of guides that are just for me... The Secret Summary (aka How It Ends), and What Everything Actually Means. (No, really. That's what they're called.) I'm also working on a pivotal part set at the Pureblood Ball... So, the next chapter is coming soon.

Two more:
6. What's in the second crate? When are we going to find out?

7. I can't help but think that Lucius and Astoria have some really dirty secrets.

Author's Response: 6.) (laughs evil-ly) Very Important Stuff. We find out near the very end.

7.) I REALLY can't answer that one.

O.K., this guide has dramatically increased the number of questionsI have unresolved. Shall I start with the first 200? Kidding.

Some random thoughts though:

1.This elusive room. It seems to pop in different places, so does it also pop in different times too? It allways has the same interior.

2. Are we going to see George/ Hermione at some later point? Does it mean she'll turn to being normal?

3. Is Ginny going to have some working relationship with Draco before it becomes romantic? I suppose he really is going to be The Junior Undersecretary of Culture. Also it looks from that cookiechapter (37) that he'll keep his promise to get her to the Regency Ball.

4. You know, that cookie where it looks loke Ginny is Marie,in chapter 37, somehow I get the feeling something is off there. Perhaps I'm still trying to deny them being the same person, despite numerous evidence. You will laugh, but it looked like some kind of roleplay to me. (Maybe something like they did in MMoM where Draco created some scene where he really was 16 tofigure out wether he was going to force himself on Ginny if she was brought to him then.)

5. And now for another crazy idea: There are TWO MARIE- one is the realone and the other is Ginny posing as her - seeing as there are time inconsistinsies. O.k., that was mostly a joke -one Marie is quite enough!

Anyway,I'm eagerly waiting for chapter 41 and the rest!

Author's Response: Now I'm going to wonder what the other 293 questions were. ;) Anyway...

1.) Very good question. The room did appear to Draco when he was five years old and looking for Teddy, and he was able to find it occasionally as a child, although he never remembered those times as anything except vague dreams. (Pictures cute five-year-old Draco.:) So it definitely could appear about 16 years ago from the current present time of the fic, and yes, it always does look the same.

2.) It depends on what happens with them. I only write what the characters tell me, and-- (they're coming with those butterfly nets-- never mind.) Hermione is pretty bad at this point, but I don't think that she's as bad as Harry. She felt betrayed by Ron (and to be fair, he never tried to reach out to her as a friend after the breakup), and then she sort of got under Harry's spell (not literally.) But she *could* change, and I don't think that DDD's Harry is really at a point where he can do that anymore.

3.) Can't answer that one. ;) But yes, he gets her to the ball.

4.) Or that one. But I will say that the situation in the cookie you're talking about is a lot more complicated than it seems to be. We don't know why Ginny is there, what led up to her choosing to do it, what happens afterwards (besides a lot of NC-17ness-- I'll say that!), or... a lot else. ;) But it will all make sense.

Wow...very interesting chapter. And thanks for the fast update! So October 31st is Halloween, and for some reason, I want to say that a BALL should happen on that day. Or maybe that's the day that Loki sends Ginny back in time (because of all the trickery "trick-or-treat"ness of the holiday). Or maybe Lucius' dastardly plan begins to actually work. Hmmm. Lots of possibilities.

For some reason, reading through this made me think that Loki has some kind of connection to the DoM, which has some kind of connection to time travel, which therefore has some kind of connection to Ginny. We know from canon that the idea of time (the egg and chick that fascinated Ginny) is being explored as well as the idea of death/other worlds (the Veil). And the DoM seems like one of those places like the art gallery and Malfoy Chambers where time and space are...flexible :) Yes? No? Maybe so?

Quick question--just to clarify, Lucius never had a relationship with Molly W like Narcissa had with Arthur? Because I was wondering why he is SO fixated on Ginny--aren't there other pureblood girls? And surely other people have offended him for him to want to have their daughters "used" in his twisted mind? Or perhaps Loki has a hand in this as well? And one other thing about Loki. He promises not to DIRECTLY interfere in Ginny's life, but he could "influence" other people so somehow Ginny and Draco are affected. Maybe?

Can't wait for next chapter!!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! :) Nope, you didn't quite hit the nail on the head with any of the Oct. 31st guesses, but they were good ones. The DoM stuff is very good too, but you KNOW that I can't confirm or deny any of that. ;) No, DDD's Lucius never had a parallel relationship with Molly (although I've seen some fics where he did.) He's always thought that she was horribly common. I think that Lucius probably saw what attracted Arthur Weasley to her (and Arthur does also care about Molly), but that didn't have anything to do with why he used Ginny. No more clues about Loki for now... ;)
