I absolutely adore it! I love your writing style and the plot is awesome: dark, easy to imagine in the real world... it's kinda read a 24 fic mixed with HP.

I have to tell you: this fic will be my doom this semester, 'cause I can't wait to read another chapter! :D

I think this is the most interesting fics out right now. Your level of writing is excellent. I love Draco's personality, he's cool but doesn't pretend that she isn't important. I loved every moment with them. Of course L is great. The way you've tied the story together so far is successful in keeping us intrigued but not confused. I hope you continue. You really have a wonderful story here.

All right, I'm finally reading this!!! I couldn't resist. ;) You have great subtlety in your writing. And I think that this fic kind of goes towards proving something I was writing in a critique the other day... establishing compelling characters isn't any easier at all when they're *pre-existing* ones. The only real advantage is that the readers come equipped with their own expectations, so they'll often forgive a lot more in terms of characterization problems. But that doesn't make writing them well any easier... it may even make the task more difficult, and most authors are likely to fail at it. You've really succeeded. So I look forward to seeing more! :)

and the plot thickens.... I'm thoroughly enraptured by this story, so I do hope you continue it soon :) Enjoying the characterization of Draco and what we've seen of the Trio and of Ginny from flashbacks/memories. Also, I keep picturing L as M from Skyfall, or perhaps Mallory Archer from that show.

So, I'm glad to see the update. I was so excited to see it I literally did a little jig but enough of my awkward nerdiness...

I was totally loving seeing Zane navigate his new employment situation. It's interesting to see the DoM through his eyes. Plus, the more page time he gets, the bigger my crush gets. It's also nice that he's smart as a whip.

I love, love, love seeing the flashbacks of Draco and Ginny's relationship. I love how uncertain they each are about the attraction they feel for each other; Ginny more so than Draco. That action scene in the cafe was fun to read. I could feel the tension and see the dust and rubble in my mind's eye. Very enjoyable.

That last conversation with Zane and Roger now has me on the edge of my seat for the next chapter. What kind of web is Draco trying to manoeuvre. The mystery is very intriguing.

Want more!

I hope the second part comes soon. I really like this complicated story and the mystery and how you give both Ginny and Draco's intake on their relationship which is also very complicated (and it's good)!

Jesus this was a long one. Are you hitting a word cap hence splitting chapters into parts? Not that I can complain, loving every second of wonder so far. Keep em comin please!

I really love the relationship between Zane and Draco and I'm totally falling madly in love with Zane.

I pictured a little bit hipster but mostly fashionista. I think hipsters would take lessons from him. Zane could definitely work for the Bravo Network in my mind. :)

Fili, Kili and Bifor (I think) were the dwarves for me. Gave me such giggles. I didn't recognize half the movie based on the book but it was definitely entertaining. It's unbelievable that there will be 2 more parts. I'm interested to see how that goes.

Yes, definitely go read my story. I'd love to hear your comments/critiques. I also send you a cheesy 'let's be friends' message.

Wow, this clearly took some serious planning. I'm impressed so far.

Author's Response: And as Peter Parker's uncle said, "With great planning comes great responsibility". Seriously though, my biggest fear is that it will all unravel on me one night as I'm tapping away and disappear into a logic hole :( But thank you for taking the time to review!

Best story I have read in a while! And I really do mean that! You have all the elements of a great mystery fic, and we still don't know exactly what is going on. Please update soon. Although I am hoping that the naughty rating in this story makes an appearance soon lol.

Author's Response: Done and Done! :D But thank you thank you thank you, for your kind words and your review. Everything becomes aparent soon but not too soon, kinda in that slow, burning, you-want-to-rip-your-hair-out kinda way :p

Two chapters so quickly! I love it. I also love the references to James Bond in this chapter. While they have been simmering below the surface (especially with L) I think it's great how you inserted Judi Dench's M into this scene. Simply wonderful. I also love how Draco was able to surprise L, and live up to her expectations, at the end of this chapter. They have such a great relationship. Wonderful job weaving in L's past, particularly the tea cart. As readers, we understand the significance, putting us in the enjoyable position of knowing/understanding more than Draco. I can't wait to see what Draco gets up to in Anatolia. I'm also assuming that this "mark" is going to end up being surprisingly important later in the story...Why do I get the nasty feeling that it's Harry or someone? Of course, I don't actually think it's Harry, but I do have the sneaking suspicion that there's a traitor in our midst!

Author's Response: The (pardon the pun) bond between double 0 seven and L is so impeccably characterised and skillfully humanised in CR and SF that I just really wanted to chance to ham it up and write frmo that perspective. What I love abotu your speculations and thoughts is that, with each one, you hit the nail right on its mark. Absolutely, as readers, we're meant to imply and I think dramatic knowledge (whether in the form of irony or tension or what-have-you) is so powerful, it's what keeps readers committed to coming back, what forges a connection between characters and readers but also between authors and readers, y'know? It gives us a stake in the characters' life and that is some heady stuff right there. It's not Harry, haha, could you imagine? So your hunch is both right and wrong - neither is it a traitor but it is someone from Draco's past thus - CUE THE FLASHBACKS! But that being said, keep an eye out on Blaise, he's a slippery fish. Thanks again for your wonderful review, one of the best so far <3

Hi. Yes Zane is my new fave character. I can almost see him looking tall and thin walking down the street in a posh suit (maybe with a bowtie) while he was talking to Draco. I'm so developing a crush on you original character. :)

Sorry to hear you were unwell. Jamaica has had a string of flus but I don't know about it being Caribbean-wide. You're still tops because even with illness you still managed to complete 2 amazing chapters. I still can't find the words to write chapter 5 for my story.

I saw The Hobbit! Peter 'Head Nerd' Jackson does it again! :)

Author's Response: Yeah, eh, I heard about Jamaica and Trinidad&Tobago as well...well, world was overdue for an epidemic. Maybe the Mayans were right :p And as for the 2 amazing chapters, I really, really did not want to break up the one chapter into two but was forced to because of the word limit. So, really, I cheated and it's just a two part one chapter for posting purposes. What can I say, some writers are verbose, okay? We're trying to deal with it...we need a support group for that :S HEAD NERD ROCKS and so does Richard Armitage mmm <3 But okay, what was that stuff about a pale orc? Strange. Still, well worth it. Frame rate was dazzling though it initially reminded me of a soap opera. I need to go read your story...

Cheeky Draco. I loved that he seemed to be testing L. He wanted her to trust his judgement but since that wasn't going to happen he'd just give her what she wanted. I think he felt a little disappointed in her, or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

Awesome as always. :)

Author's Response: HAHA, I was sitting at work when I read your previous review, the one where you dressed Zane up - literally laughed out loud causing many uncomfortable stares. Totally worth it though because, oh man, he sounds like such a hipster, I love it! I mean bowtie and all? Awesome! They need to create another word to convey gratitude other than "thank you" but seriously, thank you for your kind review :) The thing between Draco and L is that...they know each other far too well though he barely knows much about her. Somehow, through a few years of professional contact, they've been able to build a persona of expectations for each other that actually hold true for both their personal and working lives (thus, authentic characteristics that are not a mask) and that very few other pick up on or see. He needed a little help in this one, though, Draco did, and it came from Zane - because precisely those people who are closest to us are the ones that we're most stubborn about - henec, draco not wanting to submit a report, expecting L to empathize but without giving her a reason to do so? He is working emotionally, rare for him, and he wouldn't recognize it as such, but Zane reins him back in which I think is just as important for building a bond between Draco and Zane. In short, he was prepared for her insistence because he understands that she is asking from a purely work perspective. Still, when did Draco ever make anythng easy, eh? :D

Oh, great! Another chapter!

That was an interesting insight into how their department works as into Draco's relationship with his boss.

Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Yes, I definitely felt hard-pressed not to go more into detail with explanations of the way the Department functions. So much to write, so little time :S More is upcoming so your patience will be rewarded. But your review rewards me so thank you very very much for it :)

I. Am. Loving. Zane! I looooove the banter between him and Draco. I love how quickly he has grasped Draco's personality and how best to work with it. They make a good team.

Kudos on Logan too. I loved picturing GG Logan while he and Draco talked.

Awesome! I very much enjoy this and I can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thank you m'dear, glad to hear from you again! How were the holidays? I got hit with the flu thus the late update. A friend of mine said there's something going around, a kind of bug, in the carribean as well, is that true? I really dote on Zane, he's classic. Along with Draco its like bing-bam-boom, wooh! GG Logan was what I was picturing too! <3 you rock

Thoroughly enjoying thus far, and the chapter length makes it take a few days for me its great!

~STT

Author's Response: Thank you for the review, m'dear! Yeah, the chapter length was annoying me, I didn't want to split it into two parts again but it had to happen, clearly :( Not much in terms of action but a bit more, I think, in terms of backstory which is always important :)

Wow, it has been awhile since I have read something so well crafted and complex. Your style is a bit of Sherlock Holmes meets the new James Bond. Especially your use of stating the time in the first chapter, very BBC Sherlock Holmes. And naturally, L is M. I truly look forward to your next update.

Author's Response: Spot on, love, Zane is classic Watson though I don't know if Draco is taciturn and genius enough to be Sherlock, he is truly one of the best written characters. Your observations are so precise and I'm really touched at your review, so thank you for that :) Inevitably, L is M :D Judi Dench rocks my socks, I just wanted an excuse to write her, really, haha.

Thank you for updating :) Huge chapter and gave us treads to some background information. I like Draco’s partner, i think he just may survive this partnership now)

Author's Response: Haha, yess, well, that was my intention all along. Which is why I got kind of alarmed when reviews expressed dislike for him in the first chapter, I was like, guys, give him a chance, he's awesome. Also, he's incredibly tolerant because, seriously, Draco is a cross between a man and a child. A man-child.

Thank you for the update! I was really glad to see anew chapter and it was very interesting too.

I liked the pieces from different people's points of view (Ron's, Zane's, L's).

And the plot thickenes. I'm all suspence as to what comes next!

Author's Response: Thank you, yes, I was worried that the switch in viewpoint coupled with the mixed up time progression would be too confusing but I'm glad to see that you liked it! I just wanted to experiment with some scene switching so thanks for bearing with me. Next update should be end of this month :)

I still haven't put sufficient work into my story updates so I know what you mean.

He is totally Head Nerd. He needs a Director's chair that says 'Head Nerd'. I was watching LotR again this week and TT is 3.5 hrs long, RotK is 4 hrs long. He just put the whole book in there to satisfy all the nerds. HP directors should have done that.

I don't know, I guess it never seemed liked something I'd enjoy. I think it also clashes with some of my other Sunday night viewing. :)

I think it's opening on the 19th. To be fair, I haven't finished my reread of the book yet so I can wait. Peter Jackson is Head Nerd so I know it will be awesome.

Is the next update of this coming soon?

Author's Response: Next update - trying to submit for tuesday the 18th so before the submissions board closes for the hols. If not, will have to be the 3rd because i'm juggling a few freelance deadlines at this point :( damn holidays. No rest. I hope someone gives Peter Jackson a badge to that effect that he can pin on his robes - Head Nerd. Retaining the ability to deduct nerd points for non-nerdy behaviour.
