A new game at Hogwarts is meant to develop more Inter-house relationships... but Draco just wants the extra credit.Category: Long and Completed
Another great chapter! Looking forward to more of the story!
Author's Response: Oh thanks! You rock!
Lovely chapter. And the "classic" cliche: "Just as she fell over a pair of strong arms caught her and pulled her towards him. It was Malfoy." -- I'm *obsessed* with this cliche! Love it, love it, love it. I think I'm going to write a one-shot where Draco and Ginny reflect on all the injuries they've sustained from running into one another in the halls. :)
Author's Response: You got it! ;) 10 points for you! ;) Isn\'t this cliche\' fabulous? It\'s almost as common as Ginny and Harry naming their children James and Lily! ;) Thanks for reading! ;)
Wow. Love it so far. This is a great twist on the "inter-house cooperation" storyline -- very original! Is the game they're playing based on a real RPG? I'm totally clueless about them, but it sounds like a neat set-up. Really looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Totally NOT based on a real rpg. I actually had no idea how rpgs worked so I had to do some intel on that... but yeah... I\'m glad you liked it so far (when you wrote the review ages ago). It\'s done now... I just wanted to be a good ficwriter and thank my reviewers. Thank you! ;)
Yay, you updated! Those chapters were great -- very powerfully written. This story keeps getting better and better. And Draco in the Burrow for New Year's? Sounds dangerous -- I hope he gets a midnight kiss to make the risk worth it!
Author's Response: He will TOTALLY get a midnight kiss (kisses, actually) so it is well worth the wait! ;) Thank you for your brilliant reviews! ;)
Malfoy is acting suspiciously, and the Trio immediately assumes the worst. However, when Blaise Zabini offers Ginny a different perspective, she begins to wonder if maybe all of their beliefs concerning Draco are just...misconceptions. But that's only the beginning.Category: Long and Completed
I'm so glad you're posting this story here! It is one of my favorites. Now I get to go through and read it again. My favorite line from this chapter: "Now, can we help you with something, or were you just trying to blind us with that complexion of yours?” -- Ah, Ginny. What a spitfire. Hehe.
I loved it! Great, intense chapter -- it was definitely worth the wait!
Darn parents and their "open door" policies! You wrote the teenage frustration so well, I felt like I was back in high school ::shudders:: -- excellent chapter! Can't wait to find out what Dumbledore's proposition is! Oh, how I love this story!
That was beautiful! I loved this part right at the end of the chapter:
"One of his hands, previously limp at his side, rose up to tangle in her hair and stroke at her back. 'Mmmm,' he hummed in agreement, eyes closed and a serene look on his face that she had never seen him wear before." -- The details seemed so true to life! Can't wait for the next chapter.
Draco made a New Year's resolution, but Ginny is making it very hard for him to keep it.Category: Completed Short Stories
That was great -- had me grinning ear to ear through the whole story. My favorite line was: "But for the git to use that insult at just the moment Draco was trying desperately to prove it false… It was too much for him to bear." I cracked up laughing at that! Well done!
Author's Response: Thanks for letting me know which line you liked the best. I never would have guessed that one! Hopefully it will help me next time I try to write something funny.
Over the course of seven days Ginny's relationship with Draco unexpectedly goes from platonic to something more...Category: Works in Progress
*Post HBP
This is great! I loved your description of Malfoy Manor -- how it materialized, and how Draco could see Ginny just wandering blindly around it. Really nice details. I'm really looking forward to the rest of this story!
A series of vignettes in which Ginny and Draco discover what they mean to each other.Category: Completed Short Stories
Loved it! I'm a sucker for vignette-type stories, and you did this really, really well. My favorite line: "You can't guilt me into doing your dirty work. The last time someone tried the headmaster died, remember?"
That cracked me up, and then I felt guilty for laughing at Dumbledore's death . . . does this make me a bad person?
Thanks for sharing this story!
Draco Malfoy only wanted two things in life: Ginny Weasley and a good story. Now he's found a way to get them both - at the same time!Category: Works in Progress
This is so great so far! I cracked up at the line "I've seen her when she was a little girl, running about with Harry Potter and only eating a ham sandwich all day, and be grateful for it!" On to the next chapter!
The plot thickens! This was a hilarious chapter. I laughed out loud at the lines:
"What are you saying?" said Whitby. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?"
"What do you think I'm saying?"
"That I have male admirers too?"
Absolutely GREAT stuff. Looking forward to your next!
She takes another long look at him. This time, he looks back.Category: Completed Short Stories
Ah, angsty, drunken sex in a public restroom -- who hasn't been there, right? No, I kid. Seriously, though, this is really well written. You have a nice eye for detail in portraying character. Well done!
Author's Response: *snicker* Who, indeed?
Thank you for the feedback; it\'s greatly appreciated. :)
A fun, upbeat fic, in which Ginny can't control her fantasies... fantasies that someone else can see... An attempt to be humorous... but not too witty. (I really am funny to myself... but I think I'm the only one I make laugh! ;) )Category: Completed Short Stories
Loved it! Very nice and steamy. For me, the best part was after the kiss when Draco's head is down and he looks vulnerable -- it is nice that you wrote him aggressive but with some just under the surface softness to him. Makes me think that if they do complete one of Ginny's fantasies, it will be more than just sex. Thanks for such a fun read!
Author's Response: I LOVED your review! AND that was one of my most favourite parts too! Vulnerable!Draco ROCKS! ;) I\'m just fangirl squeeing at such a sweet review! Thanks! :)
Draco Malfoy fancies himself a connoisseur of fine wine and fine women, but a string of encounters with Ginny Weasley teaches him that he still has something to learn about both.Category: Long and Completed
That was a perfect finish! I loved the last line -- brilliant. I'm sad that this story is over so soon (with the exception of the epilogue) -- it's been such fun and educational reading. Thanks, Embellished, for writing it, and congrats, btw, on the new house. I hope you and your husband have a great wine all set for the housewarming!
Author's Response: I\'m glad that you enjoyed the story. Thanks for the congratulations (we are planning a Cote Rotie for tomorrow, which will be our first night in the house) and for the review!
What a perfect ending to a perfect story! I really liked this, and didn't think it was too cheesy at all. Draco and Ginny were brought together by their love of wine, but there's lots more to their relationship, as this epilogue shows. I'm sad to see this end -- I hope you'll have another fic in the works soon!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you enjoyed the story and didn\'t think the epilogue was too cheesy. I hoped that it wouldn\'t be too bad. Thank you for reading and for the reviews.
V. good so far! This story combines two of my favorite things, too (wine and good D/G, not wine and women). I love the footnotes as much as the story - who says fanfiction isn't educationl? :) What a treat!
Author's Response: It has been educational for me, too. I learned a lot while trying to figure out what to put in the story. And I\'m glad there is at least one person out there who will appreciate the wine references! Thanks for the review.
Er, apparently not educational enough, or I'd know how to spell "educational." D'oh!
Another great chapter! I love that Ginny is a wine expert -- I hope she puts Draco in his place at least once in this story. The Rioja sounds rather nice, though I generally avoid reds -- can you suggest anything specific?
Author's Response: Shh! Ginny\'s career isn\'t supposed to come out until the next chapter! Though I guess I wasn\'t *that* subtle with the hints. As far as Rioja goes, the most common is Marquis de Caceres (though I may have spelled that wrong). It comes in a bottle with a maroon and gold label. It is pretty consistently decent. In general, anything labeled \"Crianza\" tends to be a little smoother, which might help if you aren\'t used to red wines, though they might be a little more expensive. If you do try one, let me know what you think. And thanks for reading and reviewing!
Another great chapter! I'm glad Narcissa is so perceptive here, and that Draco has a petulant side -- I like him mostly smooth with a little bit of crank. The endnote about how the label indicates where the grapes were gathered is very interesting -- I'll be looking for that now.
And thank you for the Rioja rec -- I did try the Marquis de Caceres (in both the red and white) and liked it. (And got really excited b/c I could smell the vanilla -- I have a very poor nose I think!)
Looking forward to your next -- is it "Tasting" time yet?
Author's Response: You had better watch out--next thing you know, you will be regaling the world with what you smell in wines! I\'m glad you like Draco and are continuing to enjoy the story. Thanks for reading!
Wonderful! Two great chapters in a row, and I don't know how I missed chapter 5 when it came out, but it was nice to get double reading on this story :). I loved Draco's "eureka!" moment, tied as it was to a glass of wine. Pansy's characterization is a nice touch as well -- you know Draco's got it bad when even PP notices. Looking forward to your next!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you enjoyed both Draco\'s realization and Pansy\'s character. Thanks for reading!
*Completely AU* In a world where Voldemort was never defeated, only a few things matter: pureblood, money and power. All that Ginny Weasley wanted was to survive her 7 years at Hogwarts, a school where the children of the richest and most powerful wizards dominate over others. Denying her natural instincts, she managed to make it into her 6th year without offending any of the cruel and powerful Slytherins - especially that horrible Draco Malfoy. Until one day, she crosses a line, and her peaceful existence is shattered forever. A story filled with adolescent drama, clash of the classes, angst, jealousy, ridiculous pride and love triangles (and squares).Category: Works in Progress
Fabulous chapter! I really like this story -- it is a great take on HYD, and your writing is wonderful (as always). I can exactly picture Draco with one of those angsty Doumyouji stares as he watches Ginny. Can't wait for your next!
Author's Response: Hee!!! Thanks!
This was a great chapter, and I love how long it was -- it's nice to be able to get totally engrossed in a story. Like all your other chapters, you do a fantastic job in this one of blending the HPverse with HYD. Looking forward to your next!
Author's Response: Thank you! As the storylines get a little more complicated, it\'s becoming more challenging, try to mesh the two worlds together... I\'ve noticed that both Ginny and Draco\'s characterizations are very different from their HYD-verse counterparts at the moment, so I\'ll have to see how that is going to effect the plot later on...
“'Weasley…wait,' he mumbled. Ginny, shocked, turned to stare at him... " It's the last train ride home of the year. Draco reflects on who he is, as well as what he is to Ginny.Category: Completed Short Stories
That was lovely. Well done.
Author's Response: Thanks!
