I've enjoyed most of this story, but Draco is horrifying. He's a terrible parent as is Lucius. It's seems like Draco is bypolor judging by the number of times his mood has changed per chapter.
I'm going to continue reading in the hope that Draco redeems himself. Because right now, all I can hope is Ginny takes the kids and runs far, far away..

By no means do I wish to be disrespectful, I think you're a good writer. I'm just disappointed with Draco's characterization. How on earth could his threaten his own son with cruio? I think he's been a terrible father thus far.

I've been having the worst day ever. The entire day I just wanted to curl up on my bed, and hide under the covers until I felt better. I reread the chapter and I'm stil a little confused. If Blaise only pretended to like Ginny to punish Draco because he hates him, why did he tell Draco about Ginny's patronus?
Author's Response: Excellent question! What you said is true - Blaise interfered with Ginny & Draco because he blames Draco for the fact that his poor little heart was trampled by Cho's designer Quidditch boots, knowing that Draco only convinced him to go after her so that he'd be out of the way, giving Draco the chance to move in on Ginny. But, does Blaise really hate Draco? Also, there's one more layer to Blaise's actions - still to be revealed. It sets up the next major conflict in the story.
OH MY GOODNESS, MY HEART WAS RACING THE ENTIRE TIME I READ THE SECOND HALF OF THE CHAPTER!
I cannot believe Blaise! I'm a little confused about his actions, but I'm going to read the chapter after I finish this review.
I LOVE that Draco and Ginny are so in love with each other. The fact that her patronus is a dragon.... Be still my fangirl heart! And the fight with Blaise, and Draco defending his love for Ginny... my emotions are out of control!
Please, please, please update soon! This forever remains my favourite story, and I desperately await each update!

THIS! This is exactly what I wanted! There were so many parts that I simply had to take a moment to stop reading and squeal because it was just too cute/perfect/amazing/romantic/lovely. I particularly loved "I feel it all for you" (basically that entire scene) and the gifts :)
I think I mention this every time I review, but Crossing Into Chaos is my absolute favourite fan fiction. I've had a crazy busy, stressful week, and seeing that this story was updated completely uplifted my spirits. Please update soon! You're awesome.
Author's Response: Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it - I knew I had to throw in a few sweet moments between the two, otherwise some readers might be out of my blood! I've got some time off in December, so I'm hoping to squeeze out another chapter early in the new year!
First of all, I'd just like to say I'm so sorry about the illnesses in your family. I'm so glad things have gotten better.
Second of all, Blaise needs to die! I think you should write me into the story so I can kill me. :P Ginny and Draco were making such great progress! I was grinning from ear to ear during their day together. And that makeout scene! Perfection! I can only hope that Draco realizes that Blaise kissed Ginny and not the other way around.
I love this story so much. It's by far my favourite on here. I'd be content to read only Crossing into Chaos for the rest of my fan-ficion-reading life.

Oh Draco, the more he falls in love with Ginny, the more we see how much of a little kid he really is. Compared to Ginny and what she's been through in her life, he's a complete infant. The scene after Blaise's and Draco's fight with Ginny and Draco? Perfection. Utter perfection. Ginny really is the spokesperson for actions speak louder than words. Which is why I'm so proud of her for saying: “There is nothing in the world that could hurt me more than to see those I love either hurt or damaged. Or knowing that they’re reckless with their own safety,” she said softly. THIS! This is what I've been waiting for! I know it's not an outright deceleration of love, but it's pretty darn close. And not to mention, it's a major step for Ginny.
Other squee-worthy lines:
“Can’t you see that you and I are just opposite sides of the same coin?” he breathed.
YES! Yes they are! They're both unflinchingly loyal and reckless, and perfect, and oh gosh, what's another word for perfect?
“We’re a disastrous pair, Malfoy.”

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME? All I can say is... My emotions!
“She gets into your soul,” Draco corrected.

I am totally giddy reading this review, because you are (so far) the only one that's commented on the fact that she has just told Draco that she counts him among the people she loves. That is HUGE for her. And, of course, there's the Patronus thing. You've nailed it - her actions speak louder than words, because she is definitely not ready for words. So, it's not an outright declaration, but it's about as close as we're going to get (for awhile...)
The other two lines you commented on - I'm so happy you liked them! I was really nervous about using them (both the 'opposite side of the same coin' thing and the "beautiful disaster' as they are both a little cliche and I've seen them used in other places... In fact, I Googled extensively to ensure they were, in fact, cliche and not just something I'd read in a novel once and remembered) but they just reflect so much what I think about these two.

As always, your writing is heartbreaking, but captivating. This story has always been, and always will be my favourite fanfiction.
Now onto the chapter... I just wish I could shake Ginny! Draco is so sweet and open, and she just won't give him a break! She needs to redeem herself soon, because I'm starting to get really annoyed with her.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you haven't given up on me! In Ginny's defense, Draco's actions haven't exactly been exemplary. He ignored her entirely and has only come forward once it's too late, making it seem like it's not really that he wants HER, but he doesn't want anyone else to have her instead. Ginny is a fairly confused young lady, at any rate. Be a little bit patient with her - there's a big hint about how she really feels coming up in the next chapter.
"Perhaps it really didn't matter what he was, perhaps it just mattered that he was." Unexpected events lead to unexpected relationships. Can one person be so important to the destruction of Voldemort? Nothing happens by chance, but sometimes, life might be simpler if it did.Category: Works in Progress
