australian. hurts to think about any other pairing other than draco/ginny. I am student, doing a degree that may or may not get me a job at the end of it. This is one of my escapes.

that was really good. who said it was unreadable?
no, very intense, and well done. Remus would have been my last guess as to the other person who was having sex with Ginny. I like how Draco's 'love' for her is impled, but never admitted, as he doesn'tt see his feelings as love.

excellent.

Author's Response: For a while this was a little glitchy, so you couldn't directly link it. But our wonderful webmistress fixed it. :) Thanks for the comments. This is pretty much the perviest thing I ever wrote, so it's nice to know that others appreciate it, too. :D

Burning Ice by dumbledorefan_07    (Reviews - 115)

Ginny Weasley is a charm breaker for Gringotts. She's been around the world, but now the bank has called her home for the 10-year vault check. When she returns, there are secrets she can't escape, truths waiting to be discovered and a past in need of redemption.

Chapter 13 Quote

It was when she averted her eyes to the side of the building that she saw something to make her blood run cold.

She froze, stopping dead in her tracks and letting her arms fall limply to her sides. She stared at him, eyes wide in the red light of twilight, taking in the sight of his white-blond hair and porcelain features.

“No,” she breathed.

Red and green curses were flying about her in every direction, but it seemed the world had slowed down to her and the man who had not yet noticed her.

Draco's Dangerous Dilemma by Anise    (Reviews - 1418)

All Ginny wants is to get the upper hand just once with drool-worthy hunk of man candy and callous playboy Draco Malfoy before he moves on to his next careless conquest. So how did this simple plan lead to time travel, nefarious plots involving the most infamous whorehouse in the wizarding world, and the teenaged Draco’s achingly sweet, chocolate-flavored kisses? Even Draco Malfoy was innocent once, as Ginny learns all too well…

Chapter ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN Quote of the Day:

THE LAST CHAPTER

The minutes ticked by, long enough for Ginny to know that against all reason, all common sense, she still wanted impossible things from him. But she would leave. Even after today, even when her body ached from him and for him, when she could feel that he had begun to shape her to him, she would turn around and leave him. I will, I will, she thought.

“You don’t understand,” said Draco.

“Oh?” Ginny said stiffly. “At least he hadn’t touched her, she thought. She would not be able to find the strength to pull herself away from him, and she knew it.

This is not a review - it is an explanation and apology as to why I dropped out of following this fantastic fic blow by blow earlier this year.

You know how sometimes (for me anyway) you come back to fanfic after a little while of doing other things inyour life and all of a sudden it's all consuming - you want more good fanfic and you want it RIGHT NOW! :)
Well, that pretty much happens to me every time I come back to D&G - so much so, that my university grades take a massive beating whilst going through one of these phases. 'I know I may have a 3000 essay on some insanely hard to interpret question due tomorrow, but I am still going to read fanfic!' kind of thing.

So, that's why. Not that I imagine you've missed my presence greatly, but I just wanted you to know I often daydream about catching up and am soooo excited when I finish my last exam on the 25th....then it's holidays baby!

Author's Response: Hi Purr! :) So happy to see you again... but you MUST know that no explanations or apologies are necessary. I basically drifted away from fanfic for quite a while right before starting DDD, so I think I know what you mean. I'm glad I returned to it, because it originally really was the beginning of coming back to fic writing in general for me. While I'm working more on original fics now, I hope to never abandon fanfic... in fact, I have a theory that ALL writing has elements of fanscript of one kind or another. Anyway! There's a lot of DDD to catch up on. Um... it's kind of grown and grown... anyway, I hope that we'll all see your fic at some point! (It's a wonderful fic. Everyone else will have to just take my word for it. ;)

Oh my lord! this is the first review i've done in ages...if at all!
First of all, I am sooooo happy that people are still posting on this site. It literally made my day.

Second of all, UPDATE! I'm going crazy with all this excellent plot and teases!

Is lucius still alive??

Author's Response: Is he or isn't he... that's a good question.... (whistles innocently)

oh, just like to concur with GoldenFawkes - excellent way to finish the chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks! I liked the ending too.

two things before we talk seriously: 1) totally dig that you update quickly. 2) appreciate getting a shout.

I love the guessing game intensely. I SWEAR LUCIUS IS NOT DEAD. prove me wrong...or right...

i think you guys are on to something with the time travel thing...although i don't think they've already had sex.

i sort of dislike marie just on ginny's behalf, but i'm thinking we'll get a flashback of her and draco...perhaps?

i'm awful at picking the murderer in mystery novels and this is somewhat similar....

so, surprise us. I'll be eagerly awaiting next instalment...

Author's Response: Yay! Thanks. :) I do try to update quickly, and it's been working that way so far. It helps a LOT that so much of this was written before I started posting anything, but the way that the story is told really evolves as it unfolds even though the plot bunny has been tamed and is NOT escaping (pets bunny, which still has to be watched carefully!) You could be right about Lucius. Or wrong. Who knows... (whistles innocently) And about that flashback thing. There could be a long Draco/Marie sequence coming up later that's the key to the whole plot and that took place in the past, but isn't a flashback. It might have been written first, before anything else in this fic. It may even be the Everest pinnacle of smutty smuttiness. But one thing is for sure-- this fic is always 100% D/G (well, except for relationships mentioned briefly that were complete disasters, like H/G.)

Reviewer: purrbecomesthenight Signed
Date: May 20, 2010 Title: Chapter 19: Chapter 19

EXCELLENT! *gobbles up plot* (going along with plot bunny/food metaphor)

ok, here's what I'm thinking (and my thinking is not organised, logical, and often does not make sense. there is no reason why I'm writing here will either.)

I know someone has mentioned this before, but perhaps ginny and marie are not the same person, but had their first contact with draco (in Ginny's case, she does not remember it) at the same time and knew each other. this may be why she is not asking such direct questions about her. and I'm totally prepared to be wrong on that.

when draco talks about being weak...i think that YOU want to make us think that he means just physically, but perhaps he feels as though he's betraying marie by wanting ginny...and him trying to convince ginny that he attraction to him was merely physical was draco attempting to bring the relationship to a more superficial level.

something i am curious about: draco talks about vowing to protect ginny - clearly this was made without ginny's current knowledge, but what could have been such a threat that he would make a vow like that? or was he just speaking more generally?

i want to know who was really out there in the rain. yes astoria, but who else? i think lucius. i can't let him alone because as everybody has stated, he clearly has pivotal part to play. (hopefully? maybe? i do enjoy when lucius is written well...)

all that aside, i'm thoroughly enjoying myself and eagerly await next chapter...

Author's Response: Thanks purr! :) I really like the theories. I'm not going to say which ones are closer to being right (some of them are a lot closer than others). Let's just say that while Draco does know more about what happened in the past and what's going on right now than Ginny does, he doesn't understand anywhere *near* as much as he thinks he does.

A key theme of DDD is that *everyone* in it has at least one different piece of the puzzle-- Ginny has some, Draco has some, Lucius has a LOT of them and knows more than anybody else, Harry and Hermione have some, Marie has some, whoever she is, Astoria, Blaise, Luna, Colin, and Dean each have a little one, the three authors of *Nature's Nobility* who were in the crate have one, and some other characters who haven't shown up yet (such as Daphne Greengrass) know something too. If everybody could somehow get together and share what they know, the mystery would be solved right now. But they won't do it, because they can't or really don't want to or don't even know that it would be helpful. It will all come out in the end... ;)

for a second, you had me hoping. i was like "YES! FINALLY SOME SEX!" you cruel woman. however, yay for draco's angsty control issues! totally dig that he's all torn up about whatever it is we don't know about and his want for Ginny...

so, i'm beginning to think astoria has a bigger part to play than i originally though - someone else bought up the fact that we don't know why draco called off the wedding. could this be in defiance of lucius? (who has escaped from where??/HMM????)

at least we know why ginny can't be asking the questions she wanted to. i'm looking forward to some haryr/draco pissing contest some time in the near future...that's always enjoyable. how long does the in vino vertitas spell last anyway?

sorry for the lack of detail in this review...just finised my first 45hr working week...why do we work again?

and as always, eagerly waiting....

Author's Response: Very VERY good theory about Astoria. ;) I was wondering if readers were going to pick up on the clues about her part here, and I think that some are starting to. Harry and Draco will eventually get into it, but I'm not saying when.. and don't give up on SOME sex quite yet. ;) The in vino veritas spell lasts until the morning. Yes, I have a 60 hour work week coming up.. fun fun... and I just finished the first 12 hours of it. (Why did I agree to work Janet's assignment again?? Why do I have to work with the annoying, bossy nurse? Why does Shannon get to go home because she says she's "sick"? The answers to these and many other boring questions will NOT be found in this fic. But another chapter is coming up soon, with lots of shocking revelations!)

two things: apologies for all my spelling errors in my first reviews. and i really like the line in the summary. ALOT.

Reviewer: purrbecomesthenight Signed

so, this is a little bit odd, but before writing this review, i actually sat down with the fic and took notes in an attempt at coherency.

first of all, and this is really, truly is just a wild stab in the dark (which is what you'll be getting if you don't answer my question...blackadder anyone? :P) is the mentioning of loki. I could be confusing my fanfics (and i really hope I'm not, because not only is that embarassing but portrays me as a bad reader. I'm not! I'm loyal, I swear! I rarely ever review!) but I am starting to think Drac mentioning Loki is more than just cussing. Again, could be seriously overthinking it. IN fact, I may delete this.

what maximumtrouble said about Astoria being a red herring...considering there were a few reviews about Astroia last time, about how she may have a bigger part to play, I sort of think that perhaps you stuck that in there to make us think we were on the wrong track...because, doesn't Ginny also think Marie looks like she could be related to Astoria????? which also makes me think Marie probably isn't Ginny...

BOOYA ON LUCIUS BEING ALIVE!

trying to guess the plot aside, this chapter is waaay intense. you actually like opened a whole element to the fic that wasn't there in the first place. draco's all knowingly cruel but can't help it, ginny's oblivious of her attractiveness and is just gettin her memory erased left right and centre.

see, i thought draco's intentions were to not ever taint ginny. like, not ever. but apparently not, because he alludes to it not being the right time...something to do with lucius plans? I am assuming draco does not want anything to do with them.

i'll admit, i stopped breathing for a second when draco said he still loved marie. but....i mean, it can't be how we think it means. something about it (perhaps a stubborn pigheadedness to refuse to face facts) has me steadfastly believing that he will care about Ginny. properly.

on a lighter note, YAY SMUT! WHOOHOOO! sexellent, really.

apologies for blathering on. UPDATE! intrigued about chapter twenty three though :)

Author's Response: Notes were taken! Wonderful blathering was done! These things are good. :)

We'll find out more about what part Astoria will play very soon. No, Draco doesn't want anything to do with his father's plans, but Lucius hasn't given up on them... I just see Draco as being such a complex character here. He does have a dark side, but OTOH he's nowhere *near* the Draco of *Quick and the Dead* (definitely the most psycho-Draco in all my fics), and he's never been a post-war Death Eater, unlike the KCOtDT Draco. But yes, a part of what he is in DDD was more fully opened up in this chapter (I *tried* to hint at it before and hopefully succeeded! Yes? Maybe?) A big chunk of this fic was written first, and the thing is, that part has a lot to do with Marie and Ginny and their connection, and how Draco's character was formed into what we see now. So we will learn more soon... more sexellence too... ;)

hawt. very hawt. *fans self*

and what i like about this, is that it ain't JUSt smut, i got a very intense vibe from both of them this chapter. what exactly is draco waiting for? why does he need to keep obliviating ginny? and how much does he know? Maybe he's been obliviated. or de-memoryed.`

really, really impressed with this. keep updating!!!! promise you won't abandon this.... it's going good places.

Author's Response: Thank you for the hawtness compliments. ;) Yes, that was very intense... (turns on AC) Don't worry! It will NOT!! be abandoned. Don't forget that great big chunks are already written... ;)

yay! this made my week!!!

what i like: ginny's moment of clarity whilst looking at draco, she's gets a proper backbone here, and thas enjoyable. i love the bit in draco's heart, and how she has to bleed to access...love perhaps? (hey, metaphor!)
i don't know if this should go under 'like' but it's significant and i appreciate it, is when lucius is telling ginny she can never let anyone boy know what tom riddle did to her. i don't want to believe that, but earlier draco was so insistent on ginny being untouched, untained and pure...i just can't see him taking very well if he finds out. and after these last few chapters, she's a bit ruined for anyone else, isn't she? oh, woe is me, how can this end well???? *gnaws fingernails*

also love when draco is trying to convince he to go all the way with him "our first time would be a bit like the title page to the most magnificent masterpiece ever written-" haha!

and for some reason, i don't feel like any questions have been answered, even though some have, or have been half-answered, or have just raised more questions. i feel as though the more you're giving us, the less we know....
(that translates to: make haste and update! because this fic makes my day awesome just knowing its here...)

also, noticed you have a few pride and prejudice references earlier on - did you ever see the bbc miniseries with colin firth? i used to be able to recite that word for word as a child.

Author's Response: Yay and thank you! :) Ginny will get more and more of a backbone as things go on... and you're right, there's a real problem that needs to be solved with Draco's expectations and what really happened to Ginny. I think I saw SOME of that miniseries... and remember, the Pureblood Regency Ball is coming up eventually. ;) So much more to come in the next chapter, including the Shocking Plot Revelation of Doom! (tm)

uh, WHOA! i wonder if draco is gonna get all protective on astoria's ass or if ginny will be horribly let down...im always so scared with scenes like these because, as the old saying goes 'eavesdroppers never hear anything good about themselves'. im a little worried, to be honest.

and now these two are back to witty banter and hiding from their true feelings, which is classic d/g, but still a bit melancholy.

astoria totally had the key to his heart, didn't she? It's that little hidden bit of love and she can't get in there because well, that would just not do at all.

what in carnation has happened the golden trio as well? i think harry may have been kidnapped by lucius....

i like the lock as well, loyal, but with tugging heartstrings....

so, after you've kindly dropped this cliffhanger on is, update soon? Pretty please?

in waiting.

Author's Response: Oo, VERY interesting stuff coming up about how Draco reacts to what Astoria said. And no, she can't get in the secret room. ;) We'll find out more about Harry's fate soon. And updates soon too...

Reviewer: purrbecomesthenight Signed
Date: Jun 07, 2010 Title: Chapter 25: Chapter 25

wow. damn anise, you write some good fic.

are astoria and lucius doing the dirty? because she seems to think she's in the know a fair bit, and i don't see a reason why lucius would have told her unless....well, unless we figure out whatever arrangment the greengrasses and malfoys have going on.

theory: i think you might just make draco and astoria get married just to scare us, and only your protestations of it being a d/g fic will get us through.

the kiss was sweet - draco saying goodbye? i enjoy that ginny have a violent reaction, because otherwise all draco has to go on is his self-sacrificing suffering, and now he's got ginny's pain as well.

you mentioned that only the pure of heart can be obliviated...hasn't draco been obliviated? or was that a different sort of charm. (i.e, this means draco is not evil to the core, can love, and will love ginny.)

well, if draco trusted ginny implicitly doesn't lucius lose some of his control over his son? lucius would be all about manipulating draco's feelings for ginny i would think.

cannot wait, for the update!

Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful early-birthday-present-review! :) (My birthday's tomorrow btw...) Yes, Astoria does seem to know a lot that could only have come from Lucius, doesn't she? I wonder WHY?? (whistles innocently) I know that the Draco/Astoria thing is scary, but trust me, it's there for a reason, and it's not what it seems to be. I think that people will *eventually* be very happy with how it all turns out. Of course "eventually" is one of those words that--

OO LOOK OVER THERE!

(Anise takes off in another direction. These are some good running shoes... I really do better at kickboxing though...) Um, anyway... yes, you're right about only the pure of heart and complete obliviation. That being the case, I doubt that *anyone* would be capable of having their memory wiped 100% about anything, but yes, Draco was Obliviated. At least once. And a good theory about Lucius and control... more updates reasonably soon... ;)

first: GO PERCY!

the angst...the heartbreak...hermione (i like hating hermione)...lordy, it's just too much.

i had this strange idea that when harry came back it was actually draco (polyjuice?) but i'm not convinced...there is something a bit funky about him though....

i enjoyed seeing the gang again though (what's the go with blaise and luna hmmm? they're fun!)

i loved the dream sequence...and how she didn't give draco a proper answer to his asking her to wait for him. I'm really happy she woke up all 'independant, strong' ginny.

waiting...waiting...waiting.... semester has started again, so i very desperately need something to read other than tristam shandy...

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Yes, I like hating Hermione in this fic too... I don't know... she can really be an annoying character sometimes. The real Harry DID come back, but yes, something weird clearly happened to him while he was gone and we don't know the whole story yet (neither does he). We'll know what happened to Blaise and Luna very soon, & much more about Draco and Ginny too! More coming up...

*sigh of relief* and now, i want more!

sorry to hear that moving out is such a pain! :(

i'm a fan of blaise and luna, so i enjoyed that development, but what was with that stuff with dean? maybe dean likes luna instead of ginny.....

reading this chaapter now i think it was good you gave us that three-shot of draco's POV. It was a lot more fleshing out that adds to the plot and the enjoyment! although quite sad when ginny found out he was on his honeymoon...

So, WHAT exactly is going on? this was terribly confusing, i want loki to come in and clear it up. or make it even more confusing....

i think ginny will run into lucius next chapter, and draco will have to come back and protecct her!

more...more...more.....soon? please?

Author's Response: More about Dean very soon... I really like the Dean/Luna/Blaise triangle. I'm glad that Draco told me about the fic from his POV too-- um, I mean that I imagined it all. Yeah, that's it. (TWNoDaAM? The acronym is just too long.) Ch. 28 clears things up a little more, but also adds more mysteries. ;)

love that you updated so quickly! cheering you on for moving out as well.

this daphne element was a surprise for me, because i had sort of forgotten about her. i think maybe she wanted to stop the wedding because of this marie thing...still think there is a family connection there.

i want draco and ginny to see each other again!
draco: ginny, i want you, i need you...
ginny: *bitchslap*

or you know...you're the author i guess, it should be your call...

anyway, im late to work, love your work!

Author's Response: Thank you!! If you've read Chap 29 by now, you know more about why Daphne wanted to stop the wedding. But what does Marie really have to do with it? Now that's an interesting question. Daphne doesn't really know right now, because she never knows anything very specific with her visions. But she DOES know a little more about Marie than what she's told Ginny. There will be more D/G. All in good time, my pretties, all in good time... (cackles evil-ly.)

upset to hear about the updates stopping soon....but of course, this means you'll give us a juicy cliffhanger to agonise over before you do?

like i said in the other review, i didn't expect daphne to be the one giving answers to ginny...

and what about harry? and lucius? and hermione? what are they all up to in all of this? planning something sinister.
and we can't forget that whole marie issue....

Author's Response: Well, it'll be a couple of weeks before the updates actually STOP for awhile (and I'll have my laptop on the trip, so who knows... ;) I'll try to get some in before then. Purr, you must be psychic (hopefully not like Daphne, though.) We're going to find out more about Harry very soon. Marie is central to everything, and Lucius is definitely still lurking around...

do we need to be worried about mama weasley? it doesnt look good.

so im curious about zenobia and her knowing that harry had gone (was he there in the first place?) she's a very mysterious character. what is her motivation hmmm??

bring back draco! honeymoon has been long enough! who can put up with astoria that long anyway? oooh and lucius? where are you...? im scared of when he appears he's gonna bring a world of pain down with him.

this is great. you're great. eagerly waiting.

Author's Response: Thanks purr! :)

Ginny's mom is being annoying right now. I based her on my grandma, God rest her soul-- I really loved her, but she drove me nuts nuts NUTS!!! I'm having fun with Zenobia. Her background will be revealed eventually, but let's just say that she's connected to Loki. (And if you look up "Zenobia, Queen of Palmyra," that's basically who she was in her mortal form.) Yes, Harry was there. He's trying to find Ginny for a reason, but it's actually not as bad as it looks.

Draco will be back. Just not right now. Lots of plans for when he comes back. More Malfoys will be back, in fact. And Lucius is definitely working behind the scenes...

Author's Response: Hey Purr! Sorry about the shift. I've had some of those. Next chapter.... ;) More coming soon. I'm working on it more because I want to get it just right.

this is what draco experienced while astoria was away right? perhaps im remembering it wrong...

you are also just the best for updating so quickly, and just plain cruel for leaving us with that sexual tension.

ill also point out that GInny's hygiene issues are now becoming a problem. just do your laundry woman.

this may sound weird, but although i canat wait for draco and ginny to finally boink each other, im also really interested to see where the plot is going. this marie literally has me up at night.

update! update! gogogogo!

Author's Response: What happens in Chaps 32 & 33 is actually the night *after* the events in the companion fic from Draco's POV. So it's not from when Astoria went away and Draco went to Ginny in her dream, but from the next night. (This means that one question is, where's Astoria now?) Ginny doesn't have any other clothes at her studio. But somebody may bring her some soon.

Believe it or not, everything that's happened in the last few chapters is actually driving the plot forward and is part of the plan (pets giant plot bunny. All of these carrots are getting expensive.) But don't let Marie keep you awake! The mystery about her will eventually be solved....

I enjoy the fact you are able to string us along with really, what, second-base smut? you art a very clever girl anise...

and you are so excellent for gradually giving ginny a spine and not making draco all soft and gooey. these are how the characters should always be.

i have a theory: i think that ginny talking to draco in the portrait somehow does affect the real-life sixeen yr old draco. Like, ginny sets up his expectations of marie, and when marie doesnt fulfill them, thats when he gets all "i can love nobody!".

also, you cant fool me. i know ginny has the key to his heart ;)

hope the moving out is going swimmingly. please update. do it.

Author's Response: Thank you dear! I felt that the Ginny who started to emerge after she woke up from the dream where Draco had come to her just couldn't realistically grow a spine all at once. It needed to happen gradually, and *she* needed to have some more weak moments first where she did something like... going to Draco as a succubus. (I've had worse jobs, though. I worked at Arby's this one time...) Interesting theories... and more to come! :)
