I'm a faithful stalker of the brilliant writers of D/G goodness - hence, my presence here. Though, from time to time, I've even been known to dabble a bit myself. Work and life hinder my reading/writing ability, so while there may be lengthy stretches between reading/writing, I remain ever loyal to the combination that is Fire and Ice.

The following disclaimer applies to all of my fiction posted here: I own nothing; it all belongs to JK Rowling (and to whomever she's given her permission). I have been in no way compensated for dabbling in her world. I do this only for the enjoyment of writing about some of my favorite characters in literature. :o)

Oh, I'm so glad there is going to be more of this! I can't believe he'd do that to her...! What a total arse!

By the way, I'm a HUGE fan of Ron/Pansy. Ron's book soup was priceless! I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Perfect touch.

Looking forward to more; there's still so much story to tell and I can't wait to see where you take it. :o)

Author's Response: Thank you. I think Draco will come around after Pansy helps Ginny beat some sense into him.\r\n\r\n

This story has all the makings of one of my personal favorites!! I am so head-over-heels for the characters you're using and the way you're portraying them. Blaise is perfect; Pansy is just the way I like her. The story line is fun, fast paced, and full of intrigue. I hate reading stories that are still in progress, because I can barely stand the wait – especially when I’m really drawn in. So please don’t make it too terribly painful for me… ;o)

Companion/Prequel to His Hands, but both can be read on their own.

Draco Malfoy was a traitor. But then, so was Ginny Weasley, he supposed.

I like this piece as well. It’s got a slightly more favorable future appeal to it. I think I would have liked a little more characterization on Draco’s part. But maybe the fanciful side of me is just selfishly craving more traitorous!Draco dangerously defying his fate to love the girl with red hair and freckles… *sighs dreamily*

Author's Response: *grins* I know what you mean, I wanted to keep writing and writing. I absolutely loved getting into his head for this one and it really got to the point where I had to force myself to accept that the story is done and I needed to end it. Traitorous!Draco really is captivating, cause he\'s risking everything and defying Voldemort, who he\'d otherwise fight for, in order to be with her. I\'m glad you liked the story, thank you for your review. :)

Malfoy's 11 by SMichaelM    (Reviews - 31)

The plan is set. The rules are clear. If all goes right for Draco Malfoy's grifters, the payoff is 150 million galleons. Divide by 11. You do the math. There is only one problem... Ginny doesn't divide 11 ways.

I enjoy well put together movie fics! What a great group of characters for this particular movie too!

If I may make one suggestion though... I would flesh it out a bit. It's kind of hard to follow if you've not seen the movie. Since the dialog flits back and forth between characters (beautifully but) very quickly, you can easily lose track of who’s saying what. Also, if you’ve not seen the movie, it’s hard to tell what roles your HP characters are playing. You might want to add some details that may not be in the movie.

It takes more time and can be difficult, but it's well worth it in the end when you have a story that reflects a great movie but can stand alone as well. :o) Just a friendly thought.

It feels as though it’s been ages since I’ve gotten to read something new from you. ;o) As always your descriptions and attention to detail are rich and full and wonderful. I love that you can tell such an enormous story in such a small space! I envy you that. You scatter the answers throughout the story in such a way that you’re not quite sure how it all fits together until the story’s complete. You know the types of stories that you want to read a second and third time, just because each time you read it you find something new… That’s how I feel about your stories. It makes me want to rush off and reread everything you’ve written. :o) Anyway, I thought the story was very poignant and well titled. I’ve got such a little writer’s crush on Malfoy Manor’s gate – I was thrilled to see it make an appearance. Thank you for sharing this new piece; I’m sure I’ll enjoy it several times over. :o)

Wow... Really, really, wow. What a fantastic idea! I love playing with the idea of magic mirrors. This was beautifully done. It took me a moment to figure out what kind of alternate world they were in, and the realization spun all kinds of thoughts about what else could be different in this world. The end, the kiss in the attic, was almost bitter-sweet. Funny how Draco seemed to be a 'good guy' in both worlds...

Anyway, great story!! A very enjoyable and unique read. :o)

Haha! That was wonderful. I loved the locket bit. I like that whether Ginny knew the whole plan or not is left to one's imagination. Sure she had the picture in the locket and sure Pansy told her that Draco would meet her at the restaurant, but Ginny doesn’t know Draco is going to be at the first dinner and she seems genuinely surprised at his initial reaction at the restaurant. So really you could argue it either way. I personally lean to think that she didn't. Pansy as a matchmaker is such fun.

Also, have to add, I LOVE Pansy and Ron. They are my second favorite pairing. Very enjoyable. Two thumbs up. :o)

First and foremost, I was filled with joy to see that you’d posted a new story!! I couldn’t wait for my lunch break to read it either. :o)

This was extremely bittersw… well, it’s not even bittersweet, is it? No. Just plain sad. I can’t believe that Ginny would have been able to actually participate in the act of killing him. I didn’t hate her in the story, but I couldn’t quite like her either. My favorite part was when she smacked Harry, because at least for a moment, it felt like she was struggling with her choices.

The way you strung the story together made it possible to feel sorry for Draco, feel his pain a little, and understand the background without making him sound whiny or weak. He’s still got the snark, which you managed to make evident with a few choice words (his sneering, etc.) sprinkled throughout.

The whole thing was so very “et tu, Brute” that grasping the silver replica in the end was a touch of over kill. I understand tossing in the Roman artifact with the Caesar reference, but I’d probably left that part out for posting. It’s just not necessary for the overall feel. But perhaps, that’s just me. ;o)

I like that it was Ginny’s betrayal rather than Draco’s. Though part of me wants to just shake them both because it seems it would all be so simple to fix – let them find their happily ever after. Naturally, when you’re “in it” you never see the easy fix, so they were resigned to a devastating end.

Overall, the story was most enjoyable. I eagerly look forward to more work from you!

Author's Response: OOOh I\'m giddy that you read and reviewed - and on your lunchbreak too! YOU WIN! It was the saddest story I\'ve ever written - must angsty-er than anything else too. I LOVED when she smacked Harry. I actually had fun writing Harry - WHO KNEW? I felt terrible for Draco - but I loved making him familiarly snarky for us too - not soppy - he\'s still an ass - but we still love him. I love your reviews. You are made of win. :* Cheers!

This really is fantastic!! I can't wait to see what precarious position they end up in next. Draco's half-hearted desire to end the chase really is endearing. I just keep shaking my head and thinking, "No you don't, dear; no you don't."

Great fic so far!! :o)

Author's Response: Thanks! He is thinking about ending it, but whether he has the strength to act upon those thoughts is another matter ;)

Contractual Obligations by gidge_8    (Reviews - 751)

Selling herself into a marriage contract, Ginny finds herself playing a deadly game, ultimately pitting her husband against her lover and a father against his son. Many twists and turns, depth and evil characters - and a long story of sweet and true love.

New! Epilogue is up! Yes, I know, the story has been "complete" for a couple of years, but this ending has been partially written for a long time and it ties up some loose ends.

Wow, that was an excellent chapter!! Truly excellent. The scene between Draco and Ginny was very, very well written and showed the intimacy of their relationship beautifully.

I love the way you casually mention things that could turn out to be huge things later… like her thinking maybe she should save some money away too. It could mean nothing – or it could mean everything! Good intrigue.

The whole thing with Rookwood had me trembling in my booties. I just kept thinking; shit, they’re caught! But no. They managed to escape it. They dodged a lot in this chapter – between the elf and Lucius. I’m eager to see what happens next for my favorite pair!! Great job!

Author's Response: *grin* and taking a bow. Yes, I have so many hints to drop, and yes, some are relevant and some are just there to make you think that they are. We have some big stuff going on that will be explained soon. I'm so glad to hear that the interaction came out favorably. I really had to work hard on that part, as I'm a bit shy about writing that (though not at all shy about reading! - go figure!).
Hugs!

I understand why you went here (meaning the scene with Lucius). I can see how this could potentially enhance the overall story. Of course, I’m guessing about the outcome… At any rate, I think you did this as tastefully as you could - it being Lucius and all.

I thought that her clothing being picked out for her was a very good, slightly subtle kind of way to show just how little freedom she has now. Also, Draco’s appearance at dinner was an interesting introduction… betrayal, huh?? Wonder why that might be… lol!! I have a guess!!

Anyway, long story slightly shorter – I’m really, really enjoying this so far! Your story is truly delightful.

Author's Response: Thanks. There is a little bit of predictableness (is that a word?) coming up, but I tried to give it some depth. Thanks so much for the feedback.

I'm glad you're not transitioning into a love-relationship with Ginny and Draco too fast. As much as I'm dying to see them together and planning a way out of this predicament, dragging it out a little increases the enjoyment! Like eating M&M's one piece at a time...

I’m interested in the few galleons that were missing in the ledger… I wonder what that foreshadows…

Can’t wait for the next installment!!

Author's Response: Good catch! I\'m frequently amazed that the little things I drop in are actually *noticed*. You folks are sharp. I agree with you about the \"m&m\" analogy. It\'s quite the writing challenge to do that yet still keep the story interesting. I\'m sure y\'all will let me know if I stray.

The way you eased into his passing notes back and forth between Ginny and her brothers was perfect! I loved the riding lessons too.

I'm worried about Lucius's bad mood, what started that? Was it just a bad day or is there some bigger plan in the works that's not going as planned...?

Wow! That chapter was chalked full of stuff, wasn’t it! Lucius is a total bastard! I like to read all different characterizations of him (from loving father & husband to vicious, life-sucking death-eater). I do think this is the best evil!Lucius I’ve read in a looooong time. The scene with Voldemort was inspired. Very, very well done.

I was surprisingly pleased that Ginny refused Draco’s plan to run away. I was also glad to see Ginny call him out on the financial siphoning he’s been up to. Well played. I like the way he behaved about the whole situation. It felt justified without seeming too romantic in nature. I fully approve of the pace you’re setting for their relationship and eagerly look forward to the next “baby-step” they take.

I was excited to see the update as I’m well invested in this story now. I can’t wait to read more!!

Author's Response: I agree with you. Lucius has so much potential in so many ways. He's a great character to play with.

I do hope to keep up with a chapter a week, as some of the upcoming chapters are drafted, but still need some polish.
Thanks so much for the feedback!

Fantastic! I'm so glad she came to realize that she was not just using him. I was holding my breath there for a moment... The hay scene was cute but I was hoping for a touch more intimacy there. After all, she'd just made her decision. I can totally understand not being too comfortable writing a steamy love-making scene, but taking us through some foreplay (the sweet caresses, etc.) might have added to the depth of their relationship.

I suppose there's time for that, though. Considering they still need to come up with a solution to the Lucius problem. Speaking of... terribly curious about their little conversation after dinner!

Anyway, excellent chapter! I can’t wait for the next installment!!

Author's Response: I'm working on that, as I've been a bit uncomfortable with that. There is a great deal more to come, however, and I appreciate the input. I do take it seriously (and I agree). Much, much more to come! Thanks so much for the feedback!!!
Best wishes!

The story is fantastic! Loved it - lived it, once upon a time (minus the war bit). It does leave me wondering what happened to him. Did he make it through the war? Does she ever move on?

Really enjoyed this, even without the happy ending. :o)
