I was really excited to see two chapters at once! This chapter was really thrilling, and I thought you did a good job of keeping up the tension and the panic that Ginny was feeling throughout the whole thing.

Wow, that was such a heartbreaking conclusion, but it really was the only way to finish this. They were never really meant to be together, but what they shared /did/ mean something. Such a good story. Can't wait to see what you write next! :)
Let me start by saying that I, usually, am not a smut reader. It's generally not something that I can get into, mainly because a lot of times it is written awkwardly by people who have no business writing it, and I also prefer stories with plot. However, I read Promises, and that is one of my absolute favorite stories, so I thought I would give this a try.
I absolutely love your characterizations here. I think that you have captured exactly how Draco would have been feeling during his sixth year and you have also done a great job with a frustrated Ginny -- not wanting to be the little good girl anymore and knowing EXACTLY what she wants out of sex. It's wonderful. I think that's wonderful, because it is clear that Ginny would be the type of girl who would do whatever she had to in order to get what she wants.
Moreover, I love that you have not focused on "he put his into her, and then she..." I don't feel as though I am reading a textbook. I can get lost in it, as you focus more on what is being felt rather than what is going on. That is what smut in fiction should be, and that is why I say that there are a lot of people who write smut who shouldn't.
And, finally, I absolutely love that you actually have a PLOT here. I understand that some people like PWP, but I am not one of those people. There has to be a reason, for me, and from the first chapter there has been. You have shown motivations and explanations from the very first sentence of the first chapter.

Author's Response: You're totally not kidding. XD The inspiration behind this fic reminded me of a real life couple I know with similar problems to Pansy and Draco's dilemma. Only the girl is in love with another person while the boy has accepted the fact that they're meant to be together[They share a child.] As far as the smut and all goes, that's just my own perverted, sick, dirty, nasty little mind. I wanted to use quim in a story, and I did. Hah.

Once again, I'm not the biggest fan of smut, but this scene was just as beautiful as the last. I could feel Ginny giving in and letting go. I love the scene with Fred, and I also love how this story picks up directly after the first. I can't wait to see where this goes!

I LOVE that you think the characterizations are right-- it was really important to not try to make Draco look less crazy and sinister, or Ginny less disturbed. That being said, I think that what triggered this fic in the first place was the question of if there was any way for there to be a different kind of ending, given who Draco and Ginny are here. So they told me what actually happened, and then-- there's that white van again! And they have the straitjackets! More soon. :)
I was not expecting that at all for the epilogue, but I liked it. It was nice to see a happy ending to such a dark, sad story. I really enjoyed this whole story and your take on it. Wonderful writing, Anise, as always :)

Oh, wow. This is pretty heavy. I absolutely love the way Ginny's madness is being portrayed here. In the original, we only got to see the tip of the iceberg, and I'm so glad to see it expanded on. I also like what you're doing with Draco here. Although he's definitely crazy, his madness doesn't even touch Ginny's! I can't wait for the last chapter! :)

The last chapter will be a wild and bumpy ride... and I think I can safely say that NOBODY will guess how it all ends.
BEAUTIFUL and insane -- I love it.
Draco realizing he had gone insane and what he had to do was absolutely brilliant. I love his dilemma where he had to choose who would die. The fact that he chose himself means that there was some bit of feeling and lucidity that he had buried in there somewhere, right? I love how he continued to watch her throughout her life, and I also loved how Ginny saw Draco in the past as a different person, because he was. Then, the fact that the curse had repercussions -- brill! Oh, so so so wonderful.

Thank you. :) I think that the man who Draco potentially could have become was always buried somewhere in him-- the question was whether this bit of him would win out in the end, or if it would be the madness he'd clung to for so long. You know how I feel about this story, as I wrote almost an entire page about it, but I'll write something here, also. I love how open-ended it is and how you COULD write more if you choose to. I also love love love that it's angsty without being obnoxious, which is a fine line to walk. You set the mood in this stoory so well, and I love the characterizations.

I find this to be a bit unrealistic (even for Harry Potter fanfic) because I can't imagine a boy and a girl being paired up... nor can I imagine that there would be enough usable quarters for this plan. That said, I do like scenarios where Draco and Ginny get stuck together against their will because it always leads to snarky banter and lots of sarcasm, so I will continue to read nonetheless. :P
Author's Response: Well the idea is that they used magic to extend the space since restorating the castle. Also there is less people returning this year after the war. I did think about Ginny been paired with a girl but by pairing her with Draco it means we can get more interaction between them.
