I just want you to know, this is probably my favorite story of all time. It's so beautifully written, and it's so realistic it hurts.

I just love how he hates himself for feeling things, how he hates his lack of control. God. The whole things is just so fantastically written it stuns me. You've crafted a very heartbreaking story about a boy who's trapped by his emotions, and a girl who hates everything he stands for. The knowledge that they can never be together makes this all the more poignant, and I just love the way regret seems to drown him.

This story has actually inspired many of my creative writing essays for school. I just think of it and it fills me with emotion, and that just fuels me.

Also, this story is what really drew me into Draco/Ginny fanfiction. I wasn't that into it at first, but this story really made me appreciate the depth of this ship.

I'm really, really pleased you've written this. It's the epitome of beautiful angst. This truly is the one story that has influenced me in astounding ways, and I simply cannot express my love for it enough.

Now, that wasn't really an ending. It felt to hanging off. I mean, what happens to Draco and Ginny? And her auror career? And to Harry and Hermione and Ron? And what about Charlie? Does he recover? Does he die? Plus, the situation with her parents! Will Arthur ever forgive her, and can Molly ever let go? AND, will her family ever accept him? And what about Narcissa? What happens to her and Draco.

Oh, also, I felt the thing with Snape was really loose. Like, it needed closure, but it never got it.

All in all, I loved this story. I have it saved on my computer, just so I can read it whenever. I think you've earned the place as one of my favorite authors, and this may be my favorite story...

Bravo. Thank you so much for writing this. It truly is wonderful, and I am just astounded at how fluent and graceful your words sound. I also noticed this in the earlier chapters, but the way Ginny and Draco fought was amazing. It was REAL fighting! Most authors are positively HORRIBLE at scripting out plausible fighting.

Oh, I'm just so pleased with this. *Is Giddy*

Oh, that first part was to ask why you aren't/haven't created a sequel. I thought it was grand, and I feel a sequel is much needed.

Well, none the less, I adore this, and really am amazed. Wonderful characterization, truly amazing.

I definately thought Ron was a pedophile at the beginning of this story. Now, I realize he's desperate for a son. Still, I reread that first hunk and it does sort of strike me as Ron being attracted to young boys.

Nonetheless, cute. :]]

"Fix Draco some dinner immediately."
There is no doubt in my mind that Narcissa would never say "fix" in that context. She would be much more likely to say "prepare," or "serve," or even "make."
Just pointing it out :]

I'm sorry, but I feel Molly is completely out of character. Ginny's family wouldn't be so horrible to her, and Harry would have flipped if he saw her on the map with Malfoy. PLUS, the Room of Requirement doesn't show up on the map.
Also, her mother would NEVER send a Howler like that, for it would shame the family immensely, and she probably wouldn't want to cause Ginny any more heartache than she was already going through.
Finally, she wouldn't have been so cruel with her demand that Ginny tell Hermione and Harry, people who are close, but ARE NOT family, and therefore, really have no right to intrude.
All in all, I feel Molly's just ridiculously OOC.

HOWEVER, on another note, this is a really great plot. I seriously can't wait to see how it turns out. I've read chapter 2, too, and I have to say I think Draco's would have been a bit crueler. He probably would have been shocked, and therefore called her a whore and deny fathering her child.

I apologize for the rant, but I was truly horrified by Molly's reaction. So far, this is a fantastic story, and I'm SO EXCITED to see how it plays out. The complications and insane problems standing in their way are really daunting, and I'm a little worried by how it may turn out.

YAY! *Squees like a silly fangirl*
Off to chapter 3.

Author's Response: Well, as with all things in fanfic, characterisations are open to interpretation, but I have been seriously re-thinking this entire fic anyway since the whole lot of them are out of character and I just hate where the story is likely to go. So horribly trite and cliche. In fact (and it has nothing to do with your review, don't worry), I've been seriously considering deleting this fic because the more I read it the more it makes me cringe and I just don't think I'll ever write any more to it because I really don't like it anymore.

But yes, Molly IS ridiculously OOC, as is Draco. Harry I'm not too sure about. Then again this fic was written pre-HBP so it's all irrelevant anyway.

I might finish the smut ficlets though. Possibly. Maybe.

"Such a small price, really, for a social revolution."

I adored this line.

I must admit, I am rather impressed that you have woven so many intricate concepts and themes together so seamlessly.

Once upon a time, he was drowning in euphoria, his life pleasant and irenic and perfectly wonderful, but now the lines between good and evil are stilted. Uncertainty is key. Walls are melting away, and everything merges and blends until he can’t tell right from wrong. What he once was so sure of, what once was foolproof and perfect and so dependable, crumbles beneath his feet, and he’s falling, falling hard and fast, and it hurts, oh, how it hurts. He doesn’t understand—white and black are merely shades of grey now, and the infallible tumbles from its pedestal.

They mangled, and tore, and wounded the Covenant. They sought to destroy all he lived for.

It’s so drafty lying there and he feels hopeless as something unnamable whirls and twirls before him—there is no quick wit, no brevity, no clairvoyance to tantalize his spirit or anyone else’s and he looks towards his heroes, terrified.

And so he dances, dances around the answers until his feet burn off his legs and the fervor in his veins stills. The world a blur, he twirls and twirls and watches as their colorful solutions take him in their arms. Shades of gold and silver and magnificent royal red, they whisper into his ear, and so he falls into them, into Ginny, destined to be their guardian.

Although you were inspired by a variety of books, you've pulled off this plot without a hitch. The whole thing is beautiful and candid and simply sweeps me off my feet.

Your writing style is unique-- there were lines I was simply blown away by-- the aforementioned being one of them.

His murky sobs tell twisting tales within themselves; he speaks volumes of fantasy and loneliness, of experimentation and change. Draco’s voice is honest and jagged; it’s realistic. He is the polar side of ordinary, of all things sane and sensible.

You write some of the most delightful fiction I've read in years.

(I am simply enamored with such heavy, foreboding plot twists.)

This is beyond words, but I will try to describe it as best I can.

When I read something so poignant and captivating and utterly thrilling, it delights me beyond belief. I thrive on writing like yours; it is the sort of thing that nourishes the soul.

Also, I love how your writing evolved throughout the story. At the beginning, I must admit, I was skeptical about reading this, simply because I assumed it would be another “Ginny’s-gross-but-now-she’s-hot” type thing.

I’m so pleased it wasn’t.

Oh, I just love the intricate little details that define the High Clan. It makes me wish I were a Malfoy; aristocratic and charming, dangerously reasonable, with features that scream perfection.

You, my dear, have won my heart.
Bravo.

Heavenly Creatures by Anise    (Reviews - 54)

The sequel to The Bat-Bogeys Cometh, and the second in the trilogy. In the summer of 1997, the entire wizarding world hovers above the abyss of its own destruction. The Death Eaters have escaped Azkaban and killed dozens of students on the Hogwarts Express, and the school has become a fortress of fear. No-one knows what happened to Draco Malfoy... except for Ginny. But there is more to the story than anybody dreams, and Ginny cannot resist going to Sirius Black’s grave on a long, hot summer evening, and as she tries to unravel the mystery of his life and death, she falls into a dream of the last days at Twelve Grimmauld Place with him, two years before. And when Ginny wakes to the reality of 1997 Hogwarts, she begins to understand why she is remembering all of these long-gone events... because although her last chance to save the wizarding world from the doom that awaits it lay in that summer past, there are powers to whom nothing is impossible—for a price.

Right, so I haven't even gotten halfway through this chapter, but THIS CAUGHT MY EYE!

"That you have but slumbered here, while we shadows did appear."--that's from Unforgivable, isn't it? Or, rather, it references the story, and I a, SO IN LOVE WITH YOUR WORK!

I absolutely LOVE how you have intertwined all of your stories! It is amazing, and has swept me off of my feet.

Now, this--"Mayhap you fell into sleep on your way to the stairs of Gryffindor Tower, and only dreamed that Robin of Peeves was ever more than what you thought him to be."
-That's from Of Binding Spells and Chartreuse, or, Bound, rather.
SO COOL!

And, this, this is most likely from Jewel of the Harem (which I haven't read yet). "For you were my bosom companion once, yes, my old shipmate, long long ago… Do you remember the salt smell of the air, and the early morning watch, and the feel of the east wind rippling in your hair as you climbed the riggings of the mainmast, Ginny Weasley? Do you recall the Golden Horn, and the seven hills of the queen city Istanbul, rising so fair above the sea at dawn?"

And, this, I think this is a reference to Unforgivable and Of Binding Spells and Chartreuse AKA Bound, I think. “D’you think what you see is the only reality? D’you think you’re living in the only universe? There’s lots of others, oh yes. And there’s one in particular…” He smiled, a mocking, secretive smile. “It lies close, close.”

Wow. SO cool.
I can't WAIT to read the rest. I also wonder, how come you haven't uploaded the rest of Heavenly Creatures? I saw on Fiction Alley that there's eleven chapters there (which I hope is completed, but it really doesn't matter either way. I'm going to finish it off there, but I like this site format much better, so I'm reading this).

Well, I really, truly enjoy your work. I've been in little bouts of squees all day, finding the connections and little, secret intricasies. OOOh! I'm so thrilled.

Her grandparents have another guest, another person in hiding, and a relationship quickly blossoms between them. However, with the war and so many secrets around them, Ginny isn't sure how to make it work. Fluffy occasionally, but things can't always be perfect, can they? Decisions have to be made and consequences dealt with.

For a fleeting moment, she imagined that they would never hear from their families again, that they would remain together in Tuscany until they were old and gray, with great-grandchildren. Much to her surprise, the thought didn’t make her as sad as she thought it should.

Oh, wow. That was moving.
Of course, it helps that I'm listening to slightly tearful songs, but, wow. The emotion this invokes is evocative and coarse, harsh and heartfelt.
He denial is a stab from the sword of a traitor. It hurts him, hurts him to breathe.
He swallows painfully as she stabs the truth into him, coughs a little as the life rushes out of him at such a high velocity that it leaves him and the rest of the world surrounding in awe of his inner capacity to fall apart. His reaction towards Ginny is so drastic and reckless that it seems a last resort.
Poor thing; he has danced around the truth for so long, that, even now, it seems only a dream.
He coughs up his heart and cradles it in his hands as he lets out one last dying gasp, clinging to the remnants of life ever so frantically.
Oh, the poor boy.
I felt that surge of pain, the twinge of reluctant abandonment.
Everything about this just makes my eyes widen and my heart clench painfully.
Such a favorite.

Some of the sentence phrasing sounded a little funny, and a dress is not usually made of cashmere. Cashmere, while soft and lovely, looks sort of... rough, I suppose. A woman of Narcissa's status would probably be draped in fine silks and furs. For this, a silk dress seems more appropriate.

Cute. I get the whole Lemon Orange Frosting thing. The part where Draco confesses his infatuation with her is sort of clumsy. Draco seems as though he has a stronger command [canon].

Overall, pretty cute. Nice idea. What does that fragrance end up smelling like? There are so many scents [I can't judge whether or not that would work... I do not know about scents.], that I can't really tell.

Now that I think about it, I can't figure out what baking and a perfume boutique have to do with each other. Perhaps it would work better if you made the recipe a fragrance recipe? Like, how to make a scent that is purely Draco and Ginny?

Lastly, I don't really get why you put the last line in there. It makes sense, sort of, but it's kind of unrelated. While it works either way, I don't see the pertinent need for it.

Still, clever idea. I never would have thought to use that. Bravo!

I really like the comment about the autumn leaves turning into the color of her hair.
Really spectacular.

What song is that from? Or poem. Whatever.

Author's Response: It\'s from \"Windmills of Your Mind\". The version I heard was by Sting from the Thomas Crowne Affair soundtrack...but it\'s been around a while and sung by quite a few people. Lovely song. :D ~Ves

I'm just going to be honest. He's good looking, alright? That thought doesn't scare me. But sharing a moment with him? Now that was scary...

Oh, that was precious.
*wistful sigh*
Made me feel all "aww" and tingly inside.
However, I really wanted Draco to start crying when he saw his mum, and run towards her, and hold her dearly.
You know, as he tried to hold back tears, but failed, and tears poured from his eyes into her robes/hair. He's probably taller than her, all things considered.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you enjoyed the story. I left the description of Draco\'s reunion with his mum decidely brief, so may imagine it any way you choose (and I think you\'re probably correct about him being taller than Narcissa by now).

Oh. My. God.
That was FANTASTIC. I honestly believe I have never been so completely swept up in a story like I was in this one. This was utterly fabulous. Absolutely mind blowing.
The plot was so complex and intricate I was simply aching for more. The characterization was endearing and cruel and lovely, and, oh. Oh, so, so wonderful.
I really enjoyed this. To a ridiculous extent. Definately an all time favorite.
