Hahaha!! I absolutely love the title of this chapter. I'm also, of course, enjoying the fic, though I am worried about Draco exacting his revenge. And, lastly, I think the fic title is pretty clever and fun, too!

Am still greatly enjoying reading this; it actually reminds me a bit of my own fic, in which Draco and Ginny have basically a practical-joke war, and are equally matched opponents. Btw, do we ever get to see a session with the 'Headhealer'?

Your Ginny is so amusing! "He's not even a good kisser!" She blurts out first, and then: "She was grateful at first but she noticed that Colin had also received a sympathetic look so she decided she wasn't speaking to Hermione for the rest of dinner" was also very funny. I also like the way you're going about Draco developing feelings for her, and how honest he is with himself about them. I guess that's the influence of this unseen Headhealer...

"She decided it would be much easier to take as an insult." --Excellent, very in-character line.

Augh! I can't express my frustration at there being no more chapters! I do hope you write/post some more, and soon. It's good to finally see what Draco has done to her all these years, aside from irritating her brother and his friends. And I'm looking forward to some lovely angst, now that Ginny has decided she hates Draco. Poor boy. Can't wait!

So glad you updated!! Whoo-hoo.

Draco's gifts are getting kind of creepy. I was pleased to see him start getting the upper hand in recent chapters--it HAD to happen, as Ginny wouldn't ever come to her senses if left alone.

OTOH...did he charm the flowers to give her dreams? If so, that's just wrong!! I hope it's simply Ginny falling for him. And the bracelet that won't come off? Cree-py.

Of course, the creepiness makes it all the more fun. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Draco is kind of stalker-ish, isn\'t he? LOL But it\'s only because he\'s kind of desperate, even if he would never actually admit to that himself ;)

Another great chapter! I particularly liked the ending, though I wonder if even Ron will have fallen for Ginny's excuse.

But this chapter was great because of Draco and Ginny's fun conversation. She's such a silly girl, and Malfoy is so confident. I think that's the only reason he's being so light-hearted about the whole thing; he's confident/arrogant enough to know Ginny likes him!

My favorite part was Ginny's series of "Right" comments. Very funny!

Author's Response: Ron is blind sometimes ;) And I had loads of fun writing their dialog. I\'m so glad you found it entertaining!

Dammit!! What a horrible cliffhanger. I hope Ginny doesn't...well... I don't know what I hope. I just know I want more of this story! These two poor kids are in such a precarious situation. There's so much to find out--what is Ginny going to face from Pansy and Blaise, both of whom seem rather dangerous. Is Draco really in love with Ginny? Is there any way out of the marriage? And how does Ginny feel?

Argh!!! I wish there were more!! You do have some related fics, however, right? I will go check them out, to tide me over. Sigh. Please update soon!

I really liked your essay; I love hearing anyone extoll the virtues of this particular ship.

But I don't think you give the pairing enough credit! I mean, no, we don't get a LOT of their personalities from canon, it's true. But I think that what we DO know is enough to see some canon-valid chemistry. Personally, I actually think it could fit into the final book, though it probably won't.

I also think there's more to why D/Hr doesn't work than the fact that she's a mudblood. For one thing, Hermione really doesn't have the passion. It's hard to see her leaving her rational objections to Malfoy behind in favor of any attraction to him. Another reason I actually got from an essay about why Harry/Ginny works instead of H/Hr: Hermione is the mothering sort, who would want to talk about everything and do everything together with her partner, and basically run his life. This is perfect for our affectionately immature Ron. But it would drive Harry, or in this case, Draco, crazy. They're much more independent, and need someone who would let them maintain that--cue Ginny. We even saw this in HBP, as Ginny always let Harry make his own decisions, and wasn't pushy.

Plus, much as I love the girl, Hermione is just not sexy enough for Draco. And she hasn't got an ounce of darkness in her, whereas we know Ginny certainly has.

But back to this sexy business--fine. I freely admit that it never occurred to me that Draco could be attractive or redeemable before Tom Felton was cast to play him. Call me superficial if you like. In my own defense, however, I think the possibility was always there in canon, and if it weren't for Harry's bias I (and many others) would have seen it. I mean, Draco is often really funny! And I thought that BEFORE Tom Felton. A lot of his insults have a clever bite to them. I mean, come on; 'Weasley is our King'? That's classic!

Yet another reason why D/G is so much better than Hr/D. Hermione has a hard enough time tolerating Ron's humor; she could never stand Draco's nastiness. Ginny totally could.

OK, I'll shut up now! Thanks for posting this essay. And believe me, you're not alone in your feelings for the Draco Trilogy. CC's an amazing writer, but her Hermione as femme fatale is squickiness to the extreme.

Author's Response: Thank you for writing such a thoughtful review! :) Draco\'s definitely funny - in a mean-spirited, Slytherin sort of way - and the fact that Tom Felton is uber-sexy doesn\'t hurt his character\'s popularity. ;) I like your comparison of Ginny to Hermione and what type of boys each one should date. (Ron *needs* Hermione to guide him and keep him out of trouble; besides, it\'s what he\'s used to!) I appreciate your feedback. :D

Wild. That was really, really good, and I say that despite my discomfort with the idea of a threesome! I thought that was wonderfully written, and that their suffering was so legitmate and real that it hurt. I love the moment when Draco asks Ginny what happened to Harry, and she says "What do you think? Voldemort tried to rip his heart still beating from his ribcage." It's maybe the longest sentence she's said since her "death", and its suddenness and callousness speaks to what she and Harry are going through. There are other great moments in the fic, too. Thanks for writing this!

Downfall by Mourning Broken Angel    (Reviews - 169)

An explosion in the Potions classroom leaves behind a raving Potions Master, a bloody Draco, and a certain redhead we all love having a moment of altruistic weakness. Ahh, nothing like one-upmanship to kindle a little romance.

Great first chapter! Draco and Ginny are a bit out of character, but I think it's fairly believable. Their flirting certainly was (even if Ginny would deny it was flirting). Looking forward to reading the rest!

Author's Response: Thank you. I look back now at the early chapters and cringe, but what can you do. Everyone\'s got a first fic, right?

Oh, this is so enjoyable! Ginny was absolutely hysterical, with her phony crying, and I do so love true D/G antagonism. I already wish there were more than 12 chapters posted...

Author's Response: As the only girl in a family of boys, I\'d be shocked if Ginny COULDN\'T squeeze out fake tears. :)

OK, first of all, can I say that your version of the final battle is one of the best, if not the best, that I've ever read? TOTALLY plausible.

As for the rest of the fic...nice retaliation on Draco's part. Ohh, I'm enjoying this so much, I don't want to get to chapter 12. It's so frustrating waiting for updates....

Lastly, I liked the Snape/Sinistra thing, as I'm a huge 'Lamentations of a Starry-Eyed Twit' fan.

Author's Response: :D You\'re the first person to comment on my take on the final battle. I thought it was a cool way for it to go down, and I really do believe that if canon!Harry makes it through the showdown he\'ll have problems like in this story for awhile. To be honest, I didn\'t know there was a Snape/Sinistra community (though I should have guessed; there\'s a following for every pairing, isn\'t there?), but I\'ve put the \'Lamentations\' story on my list to read when I have some free time. In fact, I didn\'t anticpate them developing into a romance, but I thought it would make a fun foil for the D/G. Thanks for the rec!

Ohmigoodness. What a conversation! I can't believe that those two poured their hearts out like that...and yet I DID believe it. I thought that was really well-written, and I can't wait to read the next chapter, and see the results of this truce.

I do have one objection--I feel like Draco, even your Draco (who is somewhat different from canon!Draco), would NEVER have admitted to wanting to be like Harry. I mean, I believed everything he said to Ginny, and I could see him INTIMATING that he wanted to be like Harry...but he would never have answered "Yes" to that question. NEVER. IMO, anyway.

Otherwise, hwoever, I loved the whole thing. And the tension between the two of them is so sexy.

Author's Response: Thank you- I rewrote the Ginny-Draco bubble discussion many times before I was satisfied with the results. I agree that I take quite a few liberties with Draco\'s personality in this story, particularly in the earlier chapters. The point I was driving at with him admitting his desire to be like Harry is that he somehow feels compelled to be honest with Ginny (at least when he knows what the truth is). Since he\'s having such a difficult time ironing out his feelings for her, he has a much harder time expressing them to Ginny.

Reviewer: imelda Signed

My goodness. The two of them are wonderful together! They're funny and flirty and sexy and even sweet. So often, after a fanfic that's filled with real, intense hatred and competition between these two, the author doesn't really manage to pull off a successful rapport. But you've done it beautifully!!

And now, alas, there is no more posted. I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait for the rest of this fic, and hope there is a lot more to come.

Author's Response: Thank you! What a wonderful review. I\'m not sure that I\'ve accomplished the transition as seamlessly as I had hoped, but I have a blast writing these two in a witty, clumsy way that most teenagers act like at some point with a love interest.

Reviewer: imelda Signed

Cute! Draco is adorable, and the two of them are great together. I liked what you said before, in your review response, about Draco being compelled to be honest in front of Ginny. He does really seem thrown off by this whole relationship, doesn't he?

I loved the line "Giving up the battle gracefully, Draco dropped his eyes." when he's checking out her chest. Ah, boys.

And then there was Draco's idiot letter to the Ministry. Hysterical! I'm only a bit worried that Ginny will find out and hate him forever, as she ought to. Except that his ignorance is entertaining, so it's not totally negative.

I'm really enjoying this classic D/G fic, and can't wait for an update!!

Author's Response: He is absolutely in over his head with Ginny, even if he doesn\'t recognize that fact. It\'s a good thing he has Blaise and Pansy around to clean up his messes, isn\'t it? :) Yeah, Draco checking out her chest had me in hysterics. That\'s one of the things that most annoyed me when I was in high school. Draco\'s Ministry letter was my favorite part, especially that it got filtered out at the absolute lowest level possible. I think Ginny, if she found out, would be more amused about it than anything. PS- Your reviews rock. They\'re always insightful, and I look forward to reading them!

The Lush Life by Vesanmyn    (Reviews - 657)

A Vesica/Mynuet Collaboration. If Ginny had even the slightest inkling of what the day would bring, she probably would have called in sick. A disastrous press conference proved to be no match for the spin doctoring talents of Lush's chief and Ginny finds herself catapulted from being a lowly intern to the very eye of the storm, living a double life as a careerwitch and glamorous front woman for a racy new line. Throw in a few A-list events, a few dozen crises, an endless promotional tour with her new co-worker and the last person she wanted to spend time with, and a mystery waiting back home that neither of them may be able to solve….Every day's an adventure when you're living the Lush Life!

Author's Response:

Myn says: Well, the romance may take a while to get here, but I think it will be worth the wait.

Ves says: Why does everyone want the romance three chapters ago?  Would it help if the prologue was "This is a D/G site. They are going to hook up.  Wait for it..."?

Myn says: Maybe it would help if I reminded them of my fanatical devotion to the ship?\'

I like Ernesto, though, and Ginny's sleepy 'drunk'enness was funny.

Author's Response: Ves says: Um, we will get there when we get there?

Ooh no--from your responses to last chapter's reviews, "Ginny's got a lot more than she bargained for," I am very scared for her. Well, at least the pictures'll be sexy, right?...

And Malfoy's such a perv. Heehee. Or does he just have a crush?

Author's Response: Ves says: Before Myn can jump in here and protest...I have to say, Yeah. He\'s a wee bit of a perv. And that\'s why we love him!

Myn says: I\'m not sure \"or\" is really the correct conjunction there. There\'s not really a mutually exclusive nature to those two theories.

Ves says: Oh I give up. *sulks*

Yea, Ginny! If I were her, I wouldn't have had the heart to stay and eat.

The scene with Malfoy was really cute, and somewhat reminiscent of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. I'm looking forward to the next update. :-)

Author's Response: Ves says: *thinks* It is rather like BaT now that I think about it. Well, not going to feel bad about that homage (yes, this would be the actual correct use of homage) as that is a fantastic film. However, Ginny is not very like Holly at all…good thing for her!
Myn says: I\'ve never seen the film, so I\'ll take your word for it Funny how I can do homages without knowing the source. Go, me!
Ves says: You’ve got some serious skills.

Oooh, I'm intrigued! Has Ginny got a promotion?

I loved seeing the D/G interaction in this chapter, especially since it almost, in one or two places, nearly verged on the pacific. Highly enjoyable.

Also loved Johnny John's cameo. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Ves says: I am sure Johnny John is less than pleased with us, but who cares what that pipsqueak thinks? Glad you are enjoying us! And yeah, they almost seemed not to loathe each other in this chapter. Hmm…
Myn says: Alas, I fear there may be no more Johnny John. You\'ll have to settle for more Draco and Ginny.
