“What?” Malfoy blinked, and for a second, he honestly looked shocked, as if he hadn’t expected things to move so quickly either. As if he didn’t have any more control than she did.
As the two of them stood staring at each other, a number of quick, sharp raps rattled at the door.
He muttered something that had led to Ginny getting her mouth washed out with soap when she'd said it at the age of nine and then raised his voice just enough for her to hear his next words. “Weasley, be quiet, for gods’ sake.”
