Hi fallenwitch! Sorry it took me so long to finally get over to this site! School's been crazy the last few weeks, with moving in and getting organized etc. And switching sites isn't such a big pain. ff.net is always having such ridiculous difficulties! Anyway, on to my review...

WOW!!! That was steamy and angsty and major torturous for poor Draco! After reading that, can I ever feel his pain! I loved your descriptions of his tearing, bleeding heart and all the organs rolling around in his stomach. Great imagery there. And you're leaving me with such doutbs about Ginny! I want to believe she loves him, I *really* want to, but that end bit after Draco leaves gives me cause for concern. What if it's Chervenko coming? What if that was part of the plan? What if she is still helping him? What if she was, but has now changed her mind?! The possibilities keep mulitplying in my head! And poor, poor Draco is just dying with love for her. I loved the description when she starts kissing him and saying she loves him, because you explained how he just *has* to give in so beautifully and poetically. I really loved the turmoil of this chapter, and I can't wait for the next one! I hope it comes out faster than this one did (hint hint) and I'm glad to hear that your life is getting back to normal. I was finally able to read the story that so many people have bolstered about and it deserves all of it's acclaim. I'm enthused that I finally got a chance to read it in one sitting. This story is very well paced, I love the soap-like aspect of it all. Boy gets girl, boy loses girl, girl comes back, boy loses his mind over said girl again. I look forward to your next update, thanks for sharing a great tale.

Brilliant chapter, as usual!

Hmmm... Wonder what Ginny has gotten herself into this time.

"His arms flew around her, steadying her, lest she fall. He couldn't have that, could he? He would sooner lay down his pathetic life than have anything happen to her. How ridiculous. How stupid. How utterly insane."

Poor Draco. For his sake and sanity (what's left of it), I hope he never lets her fall again. I don't think his heart can take much more ;).

How I love this phrase:

"She was beauty and fire and deadly desire, so close he could see the danger simmering in her dark eyes and feel the pulsing of her body. And he ached for her, this scintillating rebel and wife of another wizard. "

Their confrontation was so powerful. The moment of truth about her marriage to Chernenko was both satisfying and bittersweet. Chernenko certainly turned out to be more of a manipulator than his press clippings reveal. I love how you showed that cynical side of his character---very subtle and well-written.

And another dizzying cliffhanger. What does she mean by her last statement? I'm itching with curiosity!!!

Gahhh!! How can you leave us there?? What did that mean? Is someone coming to hurt Ginny? Is Draco going to get himself killed?

Ah, this fic is joyful pain. I just love all the drama and agony you put us through. My poor, baby Draco. This whole additional level about Christo is great, too, though I wonder about how he deals with Ginny loving Draco, if that's all true.

I don't have anything really constructive to say, but I do have a fave line or two:

"Make up your mind, Ginny. Is it the truth or is it a lie? You do know the difference, don't you?"

I just think this whole theme of Ginny being a big fat lie (or not) is fascinating and keeps me pulled into the fic. Plus it's so amusing.

Then, though it was a bit cheesy (Draco's monologue did get a tad sappy at a couple of moments),

"He wanted her to tell him she loved him. He wanted to hear it over and over again. Worse yet, he didn't give a damn whether or not it was true."

Because, though it's a much-used kind of line, it really actually fits at this moment, and you can see clearly how he's been driven to feeling that way.

Gosh I just love it all. I'm reading 'Jude the Obscure' right now, and this fic sort of reminds me of it--the whole confusing heroine, the doomed love story, the unconventional/forbidden match of these two characters.

Love it, and can't WAIT for the next chappie!!

Author's Response: Hi, imelda! I cringed when I read the part of your review where you said "Draco's monologue did get a tad sappy at a couple of moments" and "it's a much-used kind of line". It's a fine line between heartwrenching, emotionally evocative and utter, sappy, cliched crap. I think this chapter embraces the later rather than the former. I couldn't figure out why I hated it until I read your illuminating review, even though I know that is not what you meant to say. Anyhow, more is coming up. Out with the sap and in with the intruder! Yay - an update. Glad to see you're writing again. This story is just getting better and better, and as much as I like Ginny I really don't trust her - bit of a mystery she is. I have a feeling the intruder will be a certain married terrorist but I guess I'll have to wait for the next chapter to find out :( oh well. Well done!

I can see why this chapter took you a while to write, but I think it was worth it. You do a great job of showing just how crazy Draco has become by showing us his strange and convoluted thought processes. I can't wait to see what happens with the intrusion, but I hope it will ultimately lead to the end of the craziness. Thanks for the update!

I could not get it out of my brain, and I found myself writing it a time or two. I just loved it b/c I thought you really got to the heart of the situation there! *claps* I'm glad you like that other line about beauty and fire and deadly desire.
