The story is getting good!!!! You left us in quite a cliffhanger! The only thing I don't like is how Draco treats his son....but I hope that'll change over time. Please keep updating and I'm sorry that you're hating the story, but we love it!

Yay I'm so glad that you updated this story! And really sad to hear that you won't be updating anytime soon :( I really enjoyed this story when I first read it, and upon re-reading, still do. It's something different I feel, and I'm really hoping to get to end of the story properly, so I hope you suddenly fall in love with it again. Don't hate it please! >.<

Just have to say - agree with Caps! Ginny's a bitch, and Draco cares more about her than he does about his child - he treats Scrap like a means to an end. *sighs* poor thing only wants to be loved...
Author's Response: *Ding ding ding* This entire story is about Draco and Ginny--but especially Draco--using Scrap as a means to an end. This is, at heart, a Draco/Ginny fic, so in essence, *I* am using Scrap, too. He is only important as he impacts and observes D and G's love story. He is the only likable character in this fic, but he is not the protagonist, really. (...one of the reasons why I think this story fails, lol)
I really hate Ginny in this chapter. I feel her expectations are over the top. Very rarely at 9 will a child be able to say daddy is not treating mummy right (especially if the abuse is verbal) - regardless of the influence. Also factor in draco's previous neglect-and scorpious behaviour is normal- even predictable for a 9 year old.
And regardless of what the child says- there is NO excuse for abandoning a child. Ginny is an Adult - she should have behaved like one.
On a side note- I feel that both Ginny and Draco are poor parents and i feel very sorry for scrap
Author's Response: Indeed, Ginny and Draco are terrible parents in this story. And yeah, Ginny should've manned up. But I think she was overwhelmed with pain, and had to remove herself from the situation before she succumbed to it. Part of that was because of Scorpius, but mostly it was because of Draco. Oh but yeah, Scorpius is the real victim in this story.
This story is so dad yet so compelling I can't wait for more and man Ginny can be a bitch.
Author's Response: No, she's not a b*tch. That's not the right word. She's weak, and selfish, but she is never, ever intentionally cruel to Scorpius. But I'm glad you're enjoying the story. :-)
You're right not to rush it. Draco "suddenly" being a different man is not believable, considering how he treats Scorpius. I feel very sorry for poor Scrap.
But I also kind of hate Ginny for being so weak. Leaving her son with Draco when she wouldn't even stay with him herself seems about the most selfish thing I've ever heard. How could a mother abandon her child? No matter what he could have done, I can't believe that Ginny would be able to renounce her own son.
Author's Response: Oh, Draco's treatment of Scorpius won't ever change, I think. But to him that doesn't matter. He's interested in one thing and one thing only, and that's getting Ginny back. I feel sorry for Scrap, too. And yes, Ginny is very weak. And selfish. How could she abandon Scorpius? Well, this sounds a little harsh, but this is a Draco/Ginny fic, not a Ginny/Scorpius fic. She loves her son, but like Draco, Scorpius does not come first in her mind.

Great job on the chapter! I really love Scrap, and Draco/Ginny just makes my heart beat faster. This is such a good, original plot. I'm loving your Draco to pieces (but would love it even MORE if you updated *hint hint*), and I really hope him and Ginny get together. *sighs happily* UPDATE SOON!!!!!!!

Oh! How can you hate this wonderful story? It is so unique and fresh. I love how you portray it from the perspective of Scorpius. I love the heartbreaking angst, yet there's a sweetness to Scorpius that softens it all. It's a lovely story. The mystery of why they got together, and why they dislike each other so much now is especially captivating. Best of luck with continuing, and thanks so much for sharing it so far.

I never thought of Scorpius' POV softening the story, but you're absolutely right--I couldn't have written about these 2 (fairly horrible) people without it being tempered by their innocent son. And as for their backstory...well, I'll try to write more soon. Relatively speaking.

Draco changing - have him open up to both Ginny and Scrap. If he really changed they can judge for themselves where they stand.
Scrap - learning a little more about how he came to be. I think he needs to hear from them both about what brought them together and why it all went wrong.
You have such a gift with words do not despair.
I think once you answer these questions you can judge for yourself whether you want them together as a happy couple or allow Scrap to learn from them both how to find the happy medium he will need to believe that he was created by love.
All he wants to know is that he is loved.
Author's Response: Thank you for your ideas, and for your very kind words about my writing! I have always known where I want this story to end, and how to get there. I just am kind of disillusioned with how melodramatic and unrealistic it all turned out, and don't feel motivated to write it. But *shrug* what can you do? Maybe melodrama isn't always a bad thing.
