Wonderful chapter. I really liked the way you moved back and forth between past and present, using trigger phrases. So well done! And I'm loving the mystery. It seems like you have a very complicated, well planned story here and I look forward to reading it.

Author's Response: Yes so complicated in fact that i fear it may run away from me and then descend into choas. :( but hopefully not. Thank you very much, yes i really tried with the trigger phrases to form a kind of continuity. Biggest evil ever? All those italics html tags. Killed me. Gratified that this kept you entertained. Im looking forward to writing the next ones as well :)

I am suitably intrigued. I like the set up of it so far. More please!

Author's Response: There is more. Suitably intrigued? I am wholely grateful :) there is more suitable intrigue where that came from - trying to get the next one in before the 20th when the site closes...lets see how this goes. Thanks for your kind review.

Great chapter. I love the argument between Draco and Ginny. You did a fantastic job of making Ginny seem completely illogical but making me love her anyway. And I loved Draco's inner dialogue/thoughts throughout. To funny! Especially at the end when he realizes that he messed things up

Author's Response: Haha, isn't that the way these things usually go though eh - in the heat of the moment, everyone says anything and everyone and then only afterward do you regret it. Well, Draco's situation is exacervated precisely because of ginny's no-show so he's feeling copious amounts of guilt muddled up with the panic. This despite the fact that it was all Ginny's fault to begin with, irrational bat. But we love her :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your kind review!

Another brilliant chapter! There's a maturity in your writing that clearly separates this fic from all the rest! No typical clichés -- just a genuinely solid plot & pristine characterizations!

I wait anxiously for the next succeeding chapters -- & I absolutely love your flashback scenes! More of that pls?!

Author's Response: Those are really and truly high praises - and I really hope that I deliver on all your expectations. Not too sure about the maturity bit - inside, I am a crude four year old little boy :D Only thing worse than reading cliches are writing them, so exhausting. In all seriousness though, thank you very much. Much of the story has to be told via flashbacks because of what will be Ginny's unique position - not too give anything away - so you may wish for it now...but may find it becoming tedious soon haha. thanks kindly for your review!

Anxiously awaiting the new chapter. I'm loving this take on sketchy problem solving draco. It really works well.

Author's Response: haha, sketchy problem solving draco is really the BEST description I've heard thus far for Draco's characterization in this. I'm trying to get the new chapter in before the site shuts down submissions before the 20th so fingers crossed there will be something to read over the holidays >< thank you for your review m'dear!

:( Unfortunately, The Hobbit isn't opening in a theatre near me this weekend - I'm not in the continental US. I located a bit more Caribbean. I will be watching it as soon as it gets here though...

I am all for that Eurotrip though. My dream is to live in England.

I actually never got into Firefly. I think it was cancelled before I even heard about it, but FOX tends to do that with good shows (R.I.P. Alcatraz).

Author's Response: Fox must die a horrible horrible death. Though they seem to have Joss Wheedon's creative balls in their fist so that's something at least...R.I.P. Alcatraz and Firefly and also Dollhouse :( Also, not to hype it up for you or anything but Hobbit was bloody BRILLIANT :D watch asap! When IS the release date for you anyway?

I actually don't watch The Good Wife but I'm jealous of all the people who get to see him weekly. He is just plain yummy. But definitely one of my fave characters.

Author's Response: :O you must watch The Good Wife! Y U NO WATCH

I hope she is alive, you are keeping us in the dark about it. Will you show us where she is or what is happening to her?

Author's Response: That depends on your definition of "alive" DUN DUN DUNN. Haha, yes, Ginny definitely will be making an appearance - well more than an appearance really, she'll be there about the 5th or 6th chapter in, depending on the progression of the next few chapters. And what's happening with her now is really just a result of getting in the way of something bigger. The way that individuals are always compromised in the running of larger schemes and politics. Thank you so very much for your thoughts and questions they keep me going :)

Yes! Ohmigosh it's like you live in my head. That is totally what I'm seeing. If you love LotR, Doctor Who and Downton Abbey too, I might have to kidnap you. :)

Author's Response: I am the figment of your imagination :D I say you kidnap me and we go be student travellers in europe. Clearly I love all these that you mentioned and MOAR (firefly anyone?) tell me you are seeing the hobbitses this weekend??

Oooh, I was right. Yay! I over-nerd as a way of life. Logan was my fave beau of Rory's. He had all the airs of high society with all the fast-talking, pop-culture references of Lorelai. I think if he was her age, he would have totally been friends with her and Christopher in school.

Author's Response: YEAH he would! Which is why he was such an awesome fit for Rory. They just dont make em like that IRL T_T Although Lorelai would still distrust his swag and money money ways :) Initially. Then you're taken in by the charm. Agreed, Logan was an amazingly written character, really multi-dimensional. Matt Czuchry's dimples/crinkly eyes smile helped :D Also, Matt Czuchry on The Good Wife anyone?

Yes, please update soon. This is all very interesting and also I really like those snippets that show us how their relationship operates.

Author's Response: Thank you very much, you are very kind. Hoping to get the next one out ASAP. :)

I am loving all the mystery and espionage. Draco must be torturing himself since the last conversations he had with Ginny were tense and uncomfortable. I am really liking Zane, he seems to be getting a handle on Draco's personality and how to deal with that.

Is Logan Huntzfeldt/Huntzman (I think you made a mistake there) any relation to Logan Huntzberger from Gilmore Girls? I might be over-nerding to make that connection.

Anyhoo, lovely chapter. I'm anxious to see how this unfolds.

Author's Response: There is no such thing as over-nerding and if there is I am surely your partner in crime because YES, logan huntzfeldt is totally ripped from the huntzberger :) Giilmore Girls owns my heart. But just the name and father-news-magnate bit, not the personage. But total win for getting that :D

I really liked the bits of backstory. I love that Draco knew Ginny so well that he knew all aspects and stages of her tantrums. I love that Zane just got down to business. I hope he isn't a sneak who will betray Draco later, because I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Lovely chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you thank you thank you and also, caught the mistake and fixed it, good job ;) fortunately, no betrayal on zane's part that would make for way too many plot threads - though I think sometimes Zane will be close to smacking draco. I'm thinking...Sherlock and Watson from the Masterpiece Theatre series adaptation?

Thank you for the quick update! I am curiuos, why Pansy doesn't like Ginny? Has she got feeelings for Draco?

Author's Response: Pansy is protective of Draco, certainly, and I think at one point she had feelings for him but these have probably simmered down into a fierce fondness for someone that, because she can't consider him a lover, she'd consider a best friend. Someone who has known her long enough, whom he has known intimately. Thank you, as ever, for taking the time to read and review.

why is ginny so annoying? she makes no sense.

Author's Response: Completely agree, she is going through some stuff. She gets less annoying/annoyed. Thank you as ever for taking the time to review.

Huh, why does Draco want to be with Ginny again? She acted like a lunatic. If I were a man, I would run away from the crazy woman! So she vanished? Maybe she pissed off a powerful wizard during the portkey trip and he sent her to Tombuctu to get rid of her and her hysterical yelling?

Author's Response: Perhaps but sending someone to timbuktu for being irrational is a bit much. Maybe just to papua new guinea for this one :)

Wow. Awesome start! I haven't been this excited for a DG story in a while. I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for your next update. :)

Author's Response: Thank you kindly, hope to be as prompt with the following chapters

I absolutely loved this story. Just...Bravo. Brav-o. You managed to get me intrigued from the start. And I loved the keyhub idea. You explained changes in the world succinctly which is something I struggle to do. I look forward to seeing where you go with this.

Author's Response: Showing - instead of telling - dystopian disillusionment, changes within a context, are always a huge challenge, one that I certainly contend with. So you finding it effective/succinct is a huge compliment, thank you very much.

I love long chapterst. I really enjoyed the first chapter of political animals and i look forward to the next chaps:)

Author's Response: Thank you! The second chapter was so long it ended up having to be split into two parts :S

A very intriguing start. I love the twists on the HP world that you've set up - the surveillance of portkey terminals, the wizards with a sixth sense, etc. Draco's obvious regard for Ginny is also quite endearing. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Was trying to go for a dystopian wizarding future so it's a start, at least. My biggest worry was that I would try and adapt too much from Muggle London. But I'm looking forward to writing it for sure, thank you very much for your kind words and time.

I quite like the idea behind this story and what I see so far. Love Draco's snark and wit. It's extremely entertaining. More please.

I really enjoyed this chapter. It has a hint of dark humor to it that I definitely appreciate, and it seems to have a undercurrent of noir. I don't know if you were going for that, but I enjoyed it!

I look forward to Draco putting Zane in his place and I'd really like to know where Ginny is!

Author's Response: Oh wow, noir is definitely one of the most subtle arts and yet most amorphous of genres to pin down and get right - so you saying you get a slight sense of noir from this makes me infinitely happy/honoured. Also, lol, because I wrote Zane - or at least, Zane in my head - to be the one to be empathized with but so far everyone seems to relish the thought of Draco showing him up. oops. All will be revealed re: Ginny :D thank you for taking the time to review.

Love it so far. I can't wait for the next chapter!!

Author's Response: thank you kindly, plugging away at the next one as we speak, trying to have it make sense, so far it seems to have a mind of its own, damn plot >: (
