*Winner of the Draco/Ginny Fanfiction Award for Best Novel Length Story.* "Perhaps not everything is as black and white as it appears. Perhaps, even my father was tangled in a web of his own emotions, and in the end it spelled his death. Perhaps I too will share his fate, dying not for the cause I believe in, but for that which I cannot foresee." The ever weaving threads of our own decisions can lead to irrevocable knots, and when Lucius Malfoy is destroyed by unexpected forces, his son, Draco, is thrown into a world of political intrigue, insatiable passion and desperate gambits, opening doors he never thought to look for, and creating a life he never thought he would have as his own.Category: Long and Completed
negative first: ginny seems kind of stupid and it's almost silly how her life revolves around her lust/angst for men. I guess this isn't necessarily a negative, but she makes for an almost annoying protagonist. she seems like a little girl, in many senses. I know she complained about that early on, but yeah, aside from more physical activity, no real maturing going on there. does she not have a life outside of her super strong emotions?
draco- well done on how he gets on at the burrow, but his interactions with ginny, while sort of realistic, seem very abusive and wrong [this was no doubt intentional on your part, but it still rubbed me the wrong way jusssst a tad]. I don't expect a perfect draco, but something about this one is just creepy. and not always in the interesting way, but in the "well, I'm glad this is fiction" sort of way.
positive: I got the shivers in some parts from the strong emotions. At times I'd get annoyed at their long emo rants and paragraphs describing hair and feelings and etc. However, there were times when I was genuinely touched. Like I said, I got the shivers.
I lovedlovedloved how draco took over the slytherins. it was totally awesome and fairly realistic, though the way they ate up what he was saying was perhaps too easy. but yes, brilliant idea. I haven't really seen it done that way before.
don't take my criticisms to heart- these are just personal opinions. they are your characters [well, in a sense] and how you write them is up to you. I still read the story, to the very last page, so you know I took to it!
oh goodness, and please don't think that when I said abuse, I meant physical abuse. I was referring to draco's early behavior with ginny, as emotionally abusive, which it certainly was. I don't mean to say that the relationship itself was abusive, however. And I understand why he was unkind to her. It just put me off a bit.
sincerely hoping I haven't offended you,

wow. having read all chapters today, i am still no closer to figuring out what's going on! through all the arcs, I'd be like "oh, it's ending, oh it's ending" and then all these complications would get thrown in.
do you have an end in sight? an idea of how many chapters this will be?
all very fascinating so far!

I enjoyed! it was clever, though I felt sad for the loss of poor scorpius.
