I was thinking proposing is what he would do... I think she will agree to it, but maybe not for the right reasons- just like he isn't asking for necessarily the right reasons. She's right- there is something between them, and maybe along the way they will figure it out. I think they genuinely have come to care for each other but would rather die a painful death than ever admit it. So, that could hinder things slightly ;)

This was really good! I loved seeing Ginny's thoughts in italics when she was talking to Draco at the party! Made it more real. I also loved him just watching her at practice for like a week and then approaching her, kind of demonstrating a 'staying power', if you will.

Author's Response: Thank you! I\'m glad your enjoying it - I was kind of nervous about writing an AU and playing around with the characters so much and I didn\'t think that anyone would even read it (I know I certainly turn up my nose at most AU fics).
Draco\'s motivation for the end of the scene - part of it is because of Blaise, but that\'s only a small part of it. We\'ll find out more in the next chapter. Hermione has a theory!
