A piece of me died as I watched her marry him.Category: Completed Short Stories
Oh My God.
My heart was in my throat from the beginning; the sheer torture that the protagonist was going through as he described the agony of not realising his feelings in time was so very vividly described. I thought it was Draco. I'm sure this was your intention and I bow to your overwhelming skill with the written word. Never before have I felt such a sudden shock without an inkling of it's presence beforehand. Absolutely amazing.
That brilliantly crafted build-up and subsequent surprise left me feeling such empathy with Harry that I don't think I've ever felt before. In some ways, I feel kind of guilty for it, as it didn't seem out of place when I though Draco was the one pining for Ginny. Hmm, quite odd. In any case, I adore this story and can't commend it enough.
If only this was a parallel universe to DH. I would give anything for this to have been the actual ending.
It was a joy reading this story and I look forward to reading more of your writing.
“He would wake up screaming and call to her because he forgot she was dead.” But one day, one day...he would be okay.Category: Completed Short Stories
This is heart-wrenching. I think that the last paragraph notches up the angst much further (which is definitely a good thing);), as the fact that Draco is unable to be with his wife and unborn child due to his illness emphasises the tragedy.
Draco makes a mistake that he will regret for the rest of his life.Category: Completed Short Stories
Lol! Okay, I most definitely didn't see that coming. Very deceptively written. :)
Author's Response: Thankyou very much. I\'m glad you enjoyed it. :D
Draco and Ginny have never had it easy from the very beginning, and the the years of bitter events have left a mark on their children. A bittersweet look at the past and present for a couple for who it was never going to be plain sailing... One shot.Category: Completed Short Stories
But the spell was broken.
“Do you reckon this will work?” she murmured.
It must have hurt to have Ginny sound unsure, where he is certain that he couldn't let go.
This is an amazing story. The children, especially Lizzy, are very well portrayed. I adore the father-daughter moment. I'm going to add this to my favourites, for sure. :)
"Perhaps it really didn't matter what he was, perhaps it just mattered that he was." Unexpected events lead to unexpected relationships. Can one person be so important to the destruction of Voldemort? Nothing happens by chance, but sometimes, life might be simpler if it did.Category: Works in Progress
Yay! An update! And what a great update it is - Draco and Ginny's first proper kiss.
I love how you can write each of the Weasley brothers' thoughts, but have them have distinctly different personalities. Charlie's thoughts and opinions of Draco are rather well in keeping with his character here. I like it when Draco has a debate about the philosophies and viewpoints, whether with Charlie as is in this chapter, or with Ginny. (Though the D/G chats are a lot more fun to read. ;] )
Ginny's dreams are very well written, but it's how she wakes up that intrigues me - that she's burning up, but Draco's presence is like water on a fire, dousing the flames of past memories and calming her. Heh, though a few more kisses from Draco might heat things up in a distinctly different way. *g*
I'm looking forward to the next chapter. It would be great to see where Draco and Ginny will go from here. (And see if one of her brothers strings up Draco for daring to kiss his baby sister.)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely, lovely review. It positively made my day (I've been taking to reading unresponded reviews when I study break from writing boring term papers... It's done wonders for lifting my mood, though very little for improving my work ethic)! I'm in agreement that D/G convos are a lot more fun to read, but they're so much more difficult to write. ...Draco and Ginny are a little persnickity, if I do say so myself. Everything must always be just so. It's enough to stall a chapter for weeks.
I'm just going to be honest. He's good looking, alright? That thought doesn't scare me. But sharing a moment with him? Now that was scary...Category: Works in Progress
I just stumbled across this story again after a long absence. Is there any chance of you continuing with it? It would be great to see what happens with Ginny's hot chocolate peace offering. :)
This is definitely one of the better 'stream-of-conciousness' Ginnys and it would be a great shame for you not to carry the story to completion.
Anyhoo, hope you have a great New Year!
Sequel to Tears and Mistakes. Hope can be renewed, but can Draco be forgiven? One-shot.Category: Completed Short Stories
As improbable as it is for Pansy to die in such suspicious circumstances so soon after Ginny and Draco's meeting, I don't seem to mind too much. :) It probably has quite a bit to do with the cute kids ;p Holly's 'forgiveness' of Draco and so on.
Author's Response: The kids certainly help! *sweeps deus ex machina under the rug*
Even if he only got a glimpse of her flame-coloured hair around a corner, it was enough. Enough to keep him breathing. Alive.Category: Works in Progress
Disclaimer: Harry Potter and all of the characters in his world are the property of J.K. Rowling and multiple movie companies and publishing houses. They get all of the money, I only get the pleasure of *breathy sigh* using Draco.
I remember reading this story a while ago and was very pleased to see this chapter posted. I love how you portray Draco's insecurities.
I'm looking forward to the scene in the Prefect's Bathroom. :D
Oh my goodness! You just can't do that!
I was very glad for an update and was thinking that the Prefect Bathroom scene would finally have Draco and Ginny together, but instead they had that rather one-sided row. And to top it all off, Draco, having the worst possible timing, saw Ginny in Harry's arms and will no doubt jump to the wrong conclusions. The only positive thing I can look forward to is part of the title of the next chapter, "Emptiness, Bondage and Declarations". The second of the three words seems especially promising. *grins* I hope that Ginny can knock some sense into Draco; she doesn't deserve his lashing out, even if he is rather insecure about their relationship.
It's great to see an update to this story, though it's a shame that more didn't happen. I'll be looking forward to the next update. :)
My favourite line has got to be “I didn’t know you went in for this kind of thing, Malfoy.” Hehe, cracked me up. It's nice to have this spunky Ginny back.
It was a lovely surprise to see an update for this story! I'm really glad it hasn't been abandoned.
Aw, Draco admitted his feelings! ^_^ Granted, he was pretty much out of it, but it's nice that Ginny knows, nevertheless.
I love how you write Draco and Ginny together - I can almost feel how much comfort just being with each other gives both of them.
I look forward to finding out what they're going to do with the potion and also reading about the Christmas holidays. *g* That should be interesting.
Draco walked slowly, his head turned towards the ground. The snow was falling heavily now and he knew he should go home, but he didn’t want to. This was her favorite place to come on Christmas Eve, and even without her, this was where he wanted to be. (inspired by Blue Jupiter's Lonely Night)Category: Completed Short Stories
You write angst so well. I adore the stories you write, even if they do make me extremely tearful.
I like how you had the cause of death to be an accident. This story brings home the universal truth that you never know when your time is up and it is this that makes it so bitter to read. But the memories of their time together counter this well, reminding us all to make the most of the good times.
*sigh* I adore your writing.
Author's Response: :-) Thank you, reading reviews like yours, make me want to write more.
Ever since Ginny could remember, a little voice in her head has told her what to do. Who is behind the voice, and how will it lead her to Draco?Category: Works in Progress
Although this story has such an unbelievable plot, with Ginny being Tom Riddle's daughter, the way that you've intertwined this world with that of canon makes me /want/ to believe it (no matter how twisted it may be).
I like how you haven't had Draco automatically think of Ginny as being beautiful, as in so many of the D/G fics, but that it's the power that radiates through her that he finds attractive.
I hope that you'll continue with this story.
Award-winning fic from the D/G Fic Exchange on LJ. Ginny Weasley just got her first job as a curator for the Wizarding Museum of London. Too bad her permanent employment rests on convincing the one and only Draco Malfoy to help out her museum.Category: Completed Short Stories
Aah! This just cannot end there! If I stop to think about it objectively, I agree that it's a very good place to stop, but the D/G shipper in me wants to read more! :(
Drabble written for the "pragmatism" weekly challenge on the forums. A wartime interlude.Category: Completed Short Stories
I don't know why exactly it was, but just reading that last phrase "he knew he'd lied to her - he always wondered." made a part of me feel like it got disconnected. I'm not sure if I can explain it correctly, but that heart-wrenching line has made this short fic one of my absolute faves.
I almost want to know what happens to Draco after he walks away; in the long-term, I mean. But then I think that maybe it's better not knowing. Having it end right there at Hogwarts being better than any other addition.
It's amazing how much character you can imbude into your versions of Draco and Ginny in only a few lines! I'm in total awe. Now I'm going off to read through the rest of the one-shots I missed reading before. :)
Post-War England. Draco and Ginny. There are some things you can't leave behind.Category: Completed Short Stories
Wow.
When I finished reading this, I just had to go back and re-read it all.
The way that the two anniversaries were brought full-circle with Draco and Ginny's wedding anniversary gave a very bittersweet edge to the story. How they lash out against each other so viciously is contrasted so well against the calm, almost sedate nature of Draco returning to Ginny's bed and holding her.
A very well-written story.
"It wasn't meant to be. They both knew it."Category: Completed Short Stories
Wow! I totally didn't see that coming. Such a wonderful departure from the usual DG fics that have a married Ginny falling for Draco. That last line was lovely and moving. Only nearing the end did I realise why Ron was so angry at Ginny. At first, I thought Ginny had run away with Draco, leaving Neville behind, but the true reason is so much more believable. Poor Neville, indeed.
Author's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. I\'m glad you liked it.
A collection of drabbles in which Draco and Ginny are married to different people, but long for each other. Additional warning may be adultery.Category: Works in Progress
“Shh… it’s okay, Ginny. It’s okay,” even though we both know it isn’t.
My favourite line so far. It sums up all the trials and tribulations so well.
When an unusual alliance forms, the light side holds a chance they didn't have before.Category: Works in Progress
This is a lovely start to the story. I like the interaction between Draco and Ginny, particularly considering how even though Draco is mute during most of it there is a lot said with body language.
Hm, I wonder why Draco, in the flashback scene, called Ginny by her first name. Did he and Ginny have some sort of a relationship prior to them fleeing the Burrow?
A midnight snowfall, moonlight through a frost-tinted window, and Ginny Weasley. It would change everything for Draco...and absolutely nothing.Category: Completed Short Stories
I'm left feeling quite empty, as though after the part about Ginny running away, the story carried on quickly and rushed past me without me actually processing it. Maybe it's due to the very matter of fact way that Draco recalls Ginny's death. Maybe it's the resignation he seems to have as he thinks "maybe it's better that way". It's interesting, as I think that emptiness is what Draco's feeling; after all, he did mention Ginny loving him and unspoken in it all is him loving her, too.
*sighs* As sadistic as it may seem, I love reading a tragedy. Especially one as well-written as this.
"Master listens to you," the house-elf whispered. "Master trusts you..." Set 5 years after Footprints.Category: Completed Short Stories
Such wonderful progression from 'Footprints'. I like how, even though it's a one-shot, you weave through the on-going plot with that letter about Lucius. I fervently hope that the D/G will continue in a sequel to this fic. I have grown most attached to the Draco and Ginny in this 'world'.
What would make a family as close as the Weasleys turn its back on its youngest member? Ginny breaking Harry's heart might, as would her sleeping with Draco Malfoy. Too bad she's done both.Category: Long and Completed
I must say that I found every part of this chapter enjoyable to read. At the start, with Ginny apprehensive about how she looks and trying to convince herself that it wasn't for Draco's benefit, then the heart-warming moment when Ginny calls Narcissa 'mother', the way that Draco is opening up, becoming more expressive with Doron and Ginny in his life; all of these are wonderful happenances in the story. The undercurrent of Ginny slowly letting go of her old family ties and embracing that of her new family is a transition that is very believable and understandable and the almost dull ache Ginny experienced is almost palpable.
I can't wait to read more of this story. When I saw that there was a new chapter up, I got very excited, and rightly so - it met and exceeded all of my expectations. I hope that there will be more development between Draco and Ginny, especially now that they're on summer break with no schoolwork to distract them. Although, whatever you decide to have in the next chapter, I'm sure I'll enjoy reading it.
Wonderful.
It was great to have the four brothers ask to see Ginny and Doron; it definitely did Ginny's spirit a world of good. What I particularly liked though, was when Ginny made mention of Draco and the very awkward silence that followed. It's these little details that make the story have much more depth & the character interactions that much more believable.
Aw and the fluffy D/G part at the end was just lovely.
I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. :)
*Squeals* What a lovely chapter. I could almost feel the intensity in Draco's eyes as he looks at Ginny. I'm at odds with myself- I half want them to forget why they should 'go slowly' in their relationship and act like a proper married couple ;), but then I also half want to see how this slow burn of anticipation will progress as undoubtedly it will culminate spectacularly, if the hints here are any indication.
*sighs* I can't wait to have some more of this story to read. Everything from the characterisations to the plot are handled beautifully.
Lol! Brilliant reply, Ginny! I had my heart in my throat at Draco's proclamation of his feelings and felt the anticipation was very well rewarded by Ginny's reaction. *grins*
I have to say that I adored this chapter. Even though it pretty much glossed over a whole year - one which I would have greatly enjoyed reading more of - the way that Draco notes his growing feelings for Ginny over the course of time more than makes up for it. It was very uplifting reading about how Draco wanted to find the perfect way to sum up his feelings for her. Although, I was rather bemused to see that it took him the best part of a year to work himself up to saying it.
A lovely chapter, as always. And as ever, I am eagerly awaiting more - 'though I can't help but realise that more chapters may mean it'll be closer to the ending of the story! :( How sad I shall be to not have more chapters of 'Foolish Consequences' to read.
Author's Response: Thanks. I had a little trouble with this chapter- I didn\'t want to be too redundant or boring in describing Ginny\'s seventh year, and wanted to have more from Draco\'s POV, so I went this route. I felt like he would be just stubborn enough to not allow himself to just say it, but rather to come up with something worthy of him and of his little family. As for more chapters, I really wasn\'t too sure I could turn out a sequel until I started reading all the ch. 13 reviews. Though I really really want to get HSP done and the sequel to SSR started, I\'m beginnning to try and figure out if my schedule might allow some more thought as to FC\'s offspring.
