Beneath The Surface by Flighty Temptress    (Reviews - 474)

Ginny is one of the few surviving Weasleys after the War. With little money to her name, she has been working a low end job at a nearby restaurant to pay for her Healer training. It's been a long four years, but she has finally made it and earned her license. Problem is: there's only one position available, and the very idea of it is appalling. Slightly AU.

I loved how the last two chapters concentrated on Draco and Ginny learning more about each other. Draco trying to play nurse to Ginny was classic; especially since he's trying to still 'hate' her while he's so attracted to her - Draco nearly choked at the way her skirt slipped a couple inches higher on her legs. Thanks for the update.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it!

I'll go out and play in the rain if it meant that I could have Draco sit on my bed and try to 'warm me up'. Ginny is a
strong woman because I don't know how she let him leave her bed without letting him help her sweat out her cold.

Author's Response: ROFL! I know what you mean! Thanks so much for your review!

I was so happy to see Blaise return. My favorite line - "Cat got your tongue?" He emphasized the word, Draco knew, to draw a line to Ginny’s former House, Gryffindor. Yeah for the D/G interaction.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Yes, I rather liked that line myself!

A wonderful chapter. Ginny is giving me a bit of a migraine though. She had bloody Draco Malfoy putting her finger in his mouth - 'she felt his tongue run over her finger'. Then he kissed it after she had healed it and she....ran. Of course he apologized later, someone running away after you kiss them (even their finger) generally is not a good sign. Love the Draco/Blaise interaction.

He was acting crazy and she's still acting crazy; their never going to kiss :(

Author's Response: Lol! My aren't you optimistic! Thanks for reviewing!

Lovely chapter and not to contradict the writer, but I think a lot happened. When he got sick he asked for 'his Miss Wheezy' and asked her to stay with him. He apologized after offending her "again" and she accepted- "Neither one of us meant what we said" Yea Blaise for helping Draco to understand why Ginny was upset(although I still understand why he did it). He opened up to her about his illness and she listened while stroking his hair :)
They openly flirted. And most importantly, she admitted to what she was feeling-she knew what it was..no use
denying it anymore. While there was no kissing (not even in her dream) I am hopeful that there will be some lip locking at some point.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I mostly said that nothing happened because so many people are anxious for a kiss or some other romantic occurance between them and that didn't happen in this chapter... I'm really glad you like it and I'll be putting up the next chapter this afternoon!

This chapter had me smiling it was so sweet. From Draco asking Ginny-'Or did you come to have your wicked way with me while you thought I was defenseless?'; to him reading her note like it was some sort of secret love letter; he asked about Ron; they flirted
like mad throughout the chapter and then
they kissed-and it was sweet and passionate and wonderful. :D I'm kind of pretending the part with her running away and then him berating himself for moving too fast didn't happen.

Thanks so much for the quick updates.

Author's Response: Thank you and you're welcome!

Draco finally knows what's going on with Ginny and why she left the way she did. I must admit I was very unhappy with Ginny for ignoring Draco the way she did. My poor baby was in pain and she ignored him. Since Draco seems to have forgiven her, I will to. I like how
the chapter ended and am looking forward
to where they go from here.

Author's Response: Thanks so much!

Awwww! This was to cute. Draco was so sweet and tender with Ginny. Too bad Blaise and the twins showed up. Even though Ginny wants to take it slow, they could have had some more kissing.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing!

No the romantic moments weren't weird. I like your Ginny; but most of all although
Draco is romantic and sweet with Ginny, he's still Dracoish with everybody else. Keep up the good work. It's wonderful.

Author's Response: Thanks so much!

Reviewer: Dracogirl Signed
Date: Jan 28, 2010 Title: Chapter 24: Rough Patch

Pleeease can everybody take a potion and relax. Sorry, but I'm on Draco's side in this one.

Draco has a strained relationship with his mother but still has been taught to respect her. He's been brought up not to 'just say the first thing that popped into his head'. They just got together and while Ginny might defend Draco, I don't think she would be ready to give up the only family she has so why is she expecting him to? I'm sure Ginny would have expected him to at least hear her out and she should have done the same.

I hope they can sleep on it and 'make up' if you know what I mean ;)

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I'm posting the next chapter now, so it won't be too long before it's up for you to read. A couple of people have expressed opinions similar to yours. My opinion of why Ginny reacted the way she did was because here Draco was, sitting there very calmly as his mother was going on about what a horrible, worthless person Ginny was, and didn't say anything at all, even when she paused and was waiting for an explanation. As far as Ginny knew, he didn't care that his mother was insulting her. As you said, they'd only just gotten together, so she didn't even know how much he cared for her. She herself was in love and she's already afraid of getting her heart broken. Draco's lack of response, to her indicates a lack of any particular feelings.

No this isn't the happiest chapter. I hope I don't have to wait for the epilogue for some happiness :(

I'm mad at both Draco and Ginny. Ginny is mad with Draco-'He was too caught up in the proper way to do things and saving face in situations', but she somehow understands Narcissa-'Ginny was sure that it was just her way of protecting herself. She was proud, to be sure, and cold by nature; after a lifetime of being held superior to all but a select few, how could she not be? But she also harboured some of the same insecurities as everyone else'. How else
do you think Draco learned to do always
try and do the 'proper thing' but from his 'mum' and 'da'.

And as for Draco, how hard is it to say 'I'm Sorry!' He asks Ginny "What the hell do you want from me?" right after she says to him "Unless you’ve come to apologize." Duh! and you can't figure out what she wants from you.

I can't stand Mrs. Snidely, "Sending the hired help! Disgraceful!"; you stupid bint you're the HIRED HELP!! I'm glad Draco will be getting her for a nurse since he wouldn't apologize, but I'm even happier to know that she will get to experience Draco at his most Dracoish :D

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm posting the next chapter now!

Reviewer: Dracogirl Signed

I still think they both overreacted, but I hope that his dream or "hallucination" will convince him to go to her and apologize so they can get back together.

I hope someone gives Ms Snidely a potion
that will make her disappear from the story.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing!

My Draco moves fast. I'm so glad they made up; and I did want them to get married. I'm looking forward to the epilogue although I hate to see this come to an end. Hope to see more in the future :)

What a sweet ending. Draco and Ginny have
a son. I like that Fred, George, Narcissa
and even Hermione & Harry got to be there
for the blessed even. I'm sad to see it end but hope to see more from you soon.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

I really liked this, a great one-shot. Of course when you expand a story it's always great. I'm not sure about Draco's intentions, but I guess it was suppose to be that way.

Author's Response: Thank you. Neither Draco nor Ginny's motives are pure in this fic.

Saving Ginny Weasley by Ahranne    (Reviews - 20)

It had been six months since Ginny and Malfoy had set off to Brazil to track down alleged dark activity deep within the Amazon Rainforest. Over three months since anyone had had contact with them. Mrs. Weasley had been frantic upon learning that no one had heard from her baby in a month, but the Ministry had assured everyone that they were trained Aurors and the best in their field, and that they were probably lying low and trying not to draw attention to themselves. A month after that even the Aurors had started to get anxious, rumbling that the disappearance of Weasley and Malfoy confirmed their suspicions of deeply dark activity in the South Americas.

Great job. I love their banter: “I’ll never understand how you passed stealth and tracking,” Malfoy muttered... “Special favors,” she gasped.
“If I lose my leg because you were mooning over Potter in Medi-Training instead of paying attention, I’ll make it my sole purpose in life to ensure that you never get laid again." Keep up the good work; I look forward to the next chapter.

Wonderful start to this story. My favorite line - "He rationalised that if everything he thought about himself were true, then how could he be arrogant? He was merely being truthful."

Second favorite line-"Well then, I’d better leave and let you sort yourself out. We wouldn’t want you to be running around all wet and flustered now, would we?"

Can't wait to see more. This is cute and funny...love it.

Reviewer: Dracogirl Signed

I was delighted to find that this chapter was as cute and funny as the last. Draco and Ginny's interaction was priceless. There is a subtle sexiness to this story that I like - 'Malfoy languidly undid a cuff, and then another. Damn him and his sneaky, underhanded Slytherin ways! He had to know the effect he was having on her! How absolutely infuriating!'

Poor Ginny, having Draco 'undressing in the hallway like some—like some—scarlet man!' "Like some - scarlet man" LOL Probably my favorite line of this chapter.

I loved that Draco has carefully planned
all of this:'grey, of course, brought out his eyes...the cologne was chosen specifically to seduce.' Although even he seems to be 'shocked at his persistence'.

'This was something Draco really wanted and he was working for it, just as he worked for every other thing important to him.' I'm a romantic so I'm hoping that he is not just after her because she was 'clearly reluctant – more than reluctant, she was clearly unwilling – to go out with him.'

This was such a sweet story. Loved all the stars; her wishing on a star, star shaped necklace portkey and the star shaped engagement ring.

I thought it was great how he thought he was drunk and seeing things - "You’re not real." Even though he was seen with beautiful women, every Christmas he and a bottle of firewhiskey
reflected on what he had lost.

Thank you for such a sweet Christmas story.

Of Parchment and Passion by dumbledorefan_07    (Reviews - 43)

25-year-old Ginny Weasley is a reporter for the Daily Prophet but her current assignment to write a story about a clinic for war survivors and its anonymous benefactor will turn her world upside down.

Chapter 5 Quote:

In a moment she had grabbed her wand and was dashing to the fireplace, tossing Floo Powder into the flames.

“Lucy! Lucy, I need to talk!”

Her head was poking into Lucy’s dark kitchen. Apparently, her friend had much thicker curtains. After several minutes of shouting, Ginny was relieved to see a hassled looking Lucy sulk into the kitchen.

“If you aren’t bleeding, I swear to Merlin….” Lucy grumbled, rummaging around in a cabinet and extracting a tea kettle.

Such a cute story. I thought Ginny's stages of grief were great; alcohol, crying and ice cream.

The D/G interaction was great. It was sad what happened to Draco's cousin. I love arrogant, snarky Draco who really has a heart.

An update within the week!!! Life is Good.

Author's Response: I love arrogant, snarky Draco, too. Thanks so much for the review!!

This story is coming along so nicely. You know I never really thought about Ginny as "snarky"; although she is often portrayed as having the same type of qualities I usually think of her as feisty or fiery. I like how Draco is thinking so much about Ginny and how she's trying to impress him. What I liked the best was the passionate kiss they shared. It was so much better than either one of the stalking away mad. Thanks so much for the quick update.

Author's Response: My favorite portrayal of Ginny is the feisty version, which I imagine to be somewhat snarky. I hope it came off all right. Thanks for the review and expect a new chapter very soon!

I loved this chapter. Their interaction was great - 'I’ve had a busy day...I have a lot more work to do. You know, owls to send, stories to write.' 'Owls? Are you upset that I didn’t owl you?”'
He smirked. Merlin, how she loathed that smirk. 'Don’t be ridiculous.'

I really liked when they had dinner. They were connecting so well. The way that they both asked the same question -
about being happy and then replied to their answer the same way 'Liar'. And Ginny summed up how they felt nicely: 'You’re surrounded by people, but you’re lonely...You have the things you always wanted, but you’re lonely. You lie down at night, and you’re alone. I know, because it’s how I feel as well.'

Can't wait for the next chapter.
