I wonder about Harry, though. He didn't make it through the gates the last time he tried and I disagree with Draco that the good act he did at Stonehenge cleansed his soul. It's not a trade-off, if he still has something else weighing on him he'll still be turned back unless he's willing to face up to it. If Draco would just agree to go through the ceremony to face his own acts, he could be free to leave as soon as it's safe for him.

So, Snape's still alive, but is his mind in tact? Ginny loves Draco, and he loves her, and that's good. Harry's an ass, and currently a bit insane, but Draco may have gotten through to him. We'll see. We don't know what Scrimgeour's up to at the moment. It's hard to believe he's just standing there and watching as Ginny and Draco try to talk some sense into Harry. Scrimgeour really needs to die. I hate that man.

Excellent writing, far too abruptly ended to make me happy. But then, you're not really going for 'happy' here, are you? The tension is just brilliant.

Ah! Don't end there! So, how did Scrimgeour get in? If he's in, then the barrier failed, do Ginny & Snape (and Snurk) know it? What are they doing now? Draco's odd sensations must be as a result of Scrimgeour's new magic, how is he going to get out of this??? Another update tomorrow, then? Pretty please? The tension in this story is both wonderful and torturous. It's a big part of what makes the story so compelling, but my nerves are feeling very frayed!

I love that you've picked a canon moment to start Draco's interest in Ginny from. It anchors it more realistically than if you'd just made something up.

Oh Lord. Poor Ginny just getting hammered with ill fate in this story, isn't she? Where is Ron, anyway? I suppose he'll turn up soon, now that Colin's back with the terrible news about the Burrow. How on Earth did they get him to go along with the Ginny plan?

Harry really got to a point where he was just a heartless bastard. Anything to win. I'm angry with him, but at the same time, I can't help but feel for him. He's had a crappy, crappy life.

I like how Draco's eyes are being opened a little at a time to how much the Order really knew, and how wrong his perceptions of people have been. It's a tough lesson, but I think it's good for him.

Ok, forgive me for coming back with questions for the third time on this chapter. I just went back and re-read some of the story, trying to find clues, and I realized that we still dont' know who Snurk's mother is. Crabbe mentioned it but never told Draco who it was. Half dementors must mature very quickly because if Crabbe was present at the mating and Snurk is now physically and mentally able to mate; that's only about 3 or 4 years isn't it? Aren't Draco and Crabbe are about 20 now?

I don't know why this is nagging at me but Narcissa isn't Snurk's mother, is she? I can't imagine they'd have used her but Lucius is an evil fuck so who knows. (Well, obviously you do but that's beside the point.) I just can't think of who else it could be. We know it's not Bella. Molly is supposed to have died at the Burrow so unless they released her after the mating it couldn't have been her. I can't think of anyone else that would matter. I'm sure it's important and it's driving me mad!

I suppose that's enough rambling for now. I'll have to wait and see. Once again, love this story, love your writing. I'd really love it if the next chapter came out early Saturday morning so I could read it before I spend the entire afternoon and evening at my niece's 8th birthday party.
