This was so good. I really loved it. I think I might've originally read the summary, and skipped over it, thinking that I didn't want to read anything where Ginny had already been married to Harry. But then, I saw that you were the author and remembered how much I enjoyed your other fic, "Learning to Breathe" (which was another one of my favorites; I'm not sure if I reviewed for that one, though). Anyways, so I decided to read it today, after misjudging a fic yesterday. And it was really amazing. THis fic completely blew me away. I really loved how all your characters were really likeable, and I liked your Pansy, and Molly, and everyone. I felt like you really stayed true to character. Molly didn't side with Harry over Ginny, which I thought was realistic. And Draco was captured perfectly. But, it was your Ginny that I really liked. She was completely a great female in this one. The fact that she didn't go running to Draco after their first time of sex and demand that there was something between them dammit was really nice to me. I've read a lot of books where the girl runs to guy, thinking that there's something between them, and the guy completely humiliates and blows her off. I'm glad for this change, how he was the one to come to her, and not the other way around.
So, between this fic and "Learning to Breathe", I think you're one of my favorite authors. I'm off to read the sequel now, and any other fics that you've written. :)

This is really good. The funny thing is, I saw this fic about a month ago, read the first chapter, and deserted it, thinking, "eh. whatever". Then, I read some of your other fics, which I really liked. So, I went and read all your fics, and decided to give this one another try, thinking that I'd give up if I still wasn't feeling it by chapter 3. So, I started reading it, and made it all the way to Chapter 13, thinking, "Wow. This is amazingly good." So, never judge a fanfic by its first chapter, I guess. Lesson learned. Good job to you, Jessica K Malfoy. Please update this fic soon! I thought Ginny shouldn't have been so manipulative, especially since she's spending Draco's money like that. But I guess, I kinda see how she might be upset. But still. And the end part, where I guess it could be considered rape, please don't turn this into a rape fic. I mean, I know it's really serious and tragic, but I want to know more about Grace and Har and the war and what happens. Anyways, enough rambling. Author's Response: thank you. it has come a LONG way from what was originally intended for a nice, sweet, fluffy piece. the next chapter is mostly ready - it's being "grammared" by my beta so as soon as that's done i will post it. this is definitely not a rape fic. i think most my readers will be pleased with the next chapter. there is alot i could say, about ginny being manipulative and all that, but that might give away too much of what is to come!
Haha, omg, it was just a dream! Thanks goodness! And I'm sooo glad that Draco and Ginny are taking steps to forgive each other. I think every relationship is built on trust. There's a certain degree where arguments will help the couple improve and become closer. I'm really glad to see that it's playing out that way. Really good job! I think this chapter really redeems the whole ulrich thing in the last chapter. Can't wait for you to update again!

Author's Response: yes, they are destined to be together here, aren't they. yesterday i read a new story (i saw in the reviews that you did too) where they ended up not together (i think .... she killed herself in The Rose, yes?) and MAN! i was a bit depressed after that! i know i used to write really dark tragic stuff, but lately i am a sucker for a happy ending!!!!! so much so that i'm in the process of writing an "alternate" ending to Lies! anyways, i'm glad you like where the story is going and how they are feeling about each other. the nice thing about having d & g as teenagers here is that when you are a teenager you are able to more easily express 10 thousand crazy emotions and its okay. when you're an adult you have to consider others and try to analyze your feelings and all that rot! thanks for the lovely review!
Oh. My. Goodness. Can I just say that I am soooo glad that you updated. Just last week, I was waiting for an update to Vineyard Summer, and I went onto your page and read a great amount of your stuff. I don't know if you'll get the reviews in your email or not, so I thought that I might as well just review a couple of them along with Vineyard Summer.
First of all, the fic that really made me cry was Mr. Brightside. I could feel my heart breaking when Ginny married Oliver, because I felt like she was making a mistake. But then, towards the end, when Draco died, I just cried my eyes out, and Harry bashed a bit in my head for killing Draco. I was really hoping that you could bring Draco back from the dead, because I want D/G to have their happy ending. :)
And then another one( or two) that I really enjoyed was the one you have as the Season Series. I was really hoping that you would add to it and finish it, because I'm desperate for D/G to have their happy ending outside of Hogwarts.
But, without a doubt, Vineyard Summer is my all time favorite of yours. It's one of my all-time favorites too. I can't believe there ever was a time when I actually passed this one over... I'm really glad I pursued it past the first paragraph.
And about this chapter, can I just say that I loved it? It was so amazing. But my favorite was the smut parts. The public handjob was incredibly steamy, but NOTHING beats Draco and Ginny having sex on a hotel couch...in public...where everyone can see and hear them... I think I've already read tons of smut where they do it on a bed. But D/G smut in risque places like the floor or in public is just ten times hotter.
And I read what other reviewers have said about Ginny being pregnant, and is it weird that I really want that to happen? It doesn't even feel like they're teenagers, and something about adorable little blond, grey-eyed D/G offspring just makes me happy.
Anyways, I think I've rambled on long enough for you to know how much I love this fic, and how happy I am that you are updating regularly. I think you did a fantastic job, and I hope you update the next chapter soon, with hopefully, tons more smut and plot details about Ginny and Grace and Har. (Btw, I hope nothing has happened to them, because I like the setting right now. I hope they stay in Italy forever, in Draco's villa instead of going back to Britain)

Author's Response: wow, thank you! i don't get the email reviews so i will go check them :) Brightside was one of my favorite things to write, and i really wanted to write 2 more pieces, from Ginny & Draco's POVs, but no matter how much I've tried over the years (yes years), it just doesn't come to me the way Brightside did. As for the Seasons, I usually have something going on with them. There's another Halloween piece that's currently about half way done & it's set after Hogwarts.
I thought I would fill this fic up with smut because there's not going to be any for a few chapters because things are about to get really messy. I too would like them to stay happily in the Villa forever, but that would be boring, don't you think? ;-) The next chapter has already been written & sent off to my super betas, so it'll be up sooner as opposed to later.
ginny + pregnancy = well, i suppose i shouldn't give away the plot. draco's already trying to convince her to get married and the poor girl is only 16!!!!! could you imagine being married at 16? yikes! ok to be honest, being married at 16 probably would have been much more appealing to me then, as opposed to how it appeals to me now (don't ask my age) which is not at all!! but that's because there's no real life draco and fan fiction has given me warped views on romance! i'd make a great case study for psychology students! LOL

YOU UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, that just makes me so happy. Have I told you lately how much I love, adore, love, love, love, love, LOVE this fic? Okay, well, I'm telling you now. This is just amazing. I'm SO happy that Draco and Ginny have put definite plans for their future. Except, now I'm super scared that something bad will happen. Like, maybe Ginny will get cold feet and Draco's heart will be absolutely shattered and then he'll leave her, and she'll do something stupid like go back to Harry, and THEY WILL NEVER BE TOGETHER! Okay, I should probably calm done. I know that as one of my favorite authors, you would never do that to me and my poor heart. Right? *looks pleadingly at the author* I just really hope that this story has a happy ending. Normally, I would scope out an author's other stories, to see if the author had a trend for either dominantly angsty or dominantly happy endings, etc. But i think I've read just about every one of your stories on FIA and it seems to be a split of both. Brightside and Lies made me cry, and Forgiveness and Lip Gloss made me smile and cheer. So, I really hope this is one of your stories where D/G end up together. I don't know what I'd do if you wrote a Brightside ending. I would probably throw myself over a metamorphical cliff with despair. Oh, and I really, really, really, really, really hope that GInny's pregnant. I know sixteen is young, and the conservative part of me is saying no,, but the 99.999999% of me is saying, "yes", and trying to justify that in the wizarding world, they "become adults" much faster. In a year, technically, she'll be an adult, so it's really not that bad. Plus, I think a big, humongous part of my decision is being influenced by the fact that I love D/G children. Like, ADORE. Boys that look like Draco and Girls that look like Ginny, with a mixture of their personalities. Ahhhh, so i really hope she's pregnant. She definitely sounds pregnant with her mood swings. Now, if only something would happen to her, like she'd start throwing up or something...Anyways, I am just so excited for the next chapter. Okay. So I just went and read the other reviews for this chapter. And Golden Fawke's comment made me think. There does seem to be something fishy about those drinks. I only hope that he's dosing her with "happiness" if that makes sense, because she does seem to be quite cheerful after she takes those drinks...Hopefully nothing that would end their relationship and hurt ginny's trust of draco. and does that mean that she won't be pregnant, because the happiness is caused by the drinks and not because it's real, and she's really sad in reality? But then again, she's happy at a lot of times even when she hasn't drank anything...ahhhhh so much that needs to be revealed! I hope the next chapter will reveal all. And I am really going to stop now, or else I'll go on rambling forever.

I have a tendency to skip to the ending before reading a story, just to make sure D/G have a happy ending, so i don't get thrown for a loop and brood for days. I'm glad they stay together in the end. And as for Brightside, it's so beautiful the way you have it right now, but darn, it made me cry so much. I just think about how Draco is this Deatheater who hasn't has much love in his life, and how he had to watch his love marry someone else. It just made my heart break for him. Hehe, maybe you could bring him back from the dead, or something. :) Anyways, please update!

I'm so happy I got to read this in one of my now spare times. I got all caught up today, and I'm so excitedd for a new chapter! I'm really not going to be around DG much longer until winter hols, but I'll still stick around for your updates! The ending to this chapter is such a cliffie! I feel so bad for Gin--it sounds like she's suffering from bipolar symptoms. Hopefully, they'll cure her. And at the end, she's in St. Mungo's right? wow! i'm so glad they worked out their issue. i like how ginny took the strong ground by making draco grow as a person instead of catering to him. now, there's only a matter of the dark lord and her family....i know i haven't been the greatest reviewer since my time spent in fanfic is now scattered and few in between until i'm done applying to uni, but hopefully, i will get back into the rhythm of things.

oh. my. goodness. i am amazed. this is so incredible. originally, i skipped this one becuase i normally don't read AU. however, after seeing tons of people talk about how amazing it was, i thought, "what the hell, i'll give it a try." and i'm so glad i did, because it's now one of my favorites of all times. however, i'm worried if you've given up. (I hope not!) but it's been ten months and i'm super sad because i know you're probably way too busy to update this fabulous story anytime soon. please, please do, becuase i'd be so sad if i didn't know how this ended. i even tried googling tons of websites to see if hana yori dango summaries would help, but i couldn't get much of anything, except that apparently draco's character is going to be engaged to someone else or something (and that makes me so sad.) Okay, anyways, i just wanted to tell you how awesome i think this story is and to also express some concerns over draco and ginny's future happiness. i really hope that they do get together and everything ends happily, but considering all the present circumstances, i wish ginny would just stop fighting draco and accept his love! mkay, so things that have me worried about future d/g ness:
1) Narcissa Malfoy. SHe scares me. i just hope nothing bad happens to ginny and draco will disregard her and her stupid power thirsty ways.
2) Angelique Aristide and Draco's possible future arranged marriage (based off of what i read about hana yori dango and narcissa's attitude). I know she hasn't done anyhting bad, but i'm scared that draco's going to end up with her instead of ginny.
3) Blaise and Ginny: BAD BLAISE! no flirting with ginny, blaise. she's draco's. go back to cho. :)
4) What if draco really does move on...argh too horrible to contemplate
5) GInny's refusal to accept his love. this makes me wish she was a real live firend of mine so i could knock some sense into her.
anyways, great job doing this so far. i know it's probably hard to update since you probably have a lot of things to do, but please do update soon and try to finish this! oh, and please, i know that it would be bad to spoil any surprises or anything, but if you could just type a short reply to this review or something, just telling me if draco and ginny will end up together and happily ever after, that would help me a lot and allow me to stop worrying and abusing my poor nails. pretty please. :) anyways, update soon! and thanks for creating such an awesome story.
I am crying right now. I haven't even read the chapter, but I'm still crying. Do you know how long I have been waiting for an update? When I saw that you finally updated, I broke down completely. I really thought that you would never come back to finish this fic, and I feel like this is such a miracle. I'm that girl who stalked your lj and left anonymous comments about updating this fic every single time you posted another entry. this is really good. i like the distinctive characteristics of both Ginny and Draco. However, this story is, I think, still in progress. I know you haven't updated it since late 2007, so it's been well over a year. I don't know if you lost interest in this story :(, but please continue, as I'm dying to know what happens to Ginny and Draco. :)
