The post-war world is hardly the utopia it claims to be. Freedom is an illusion, and getting into the good graces of those with power takes precedence over morals. In this unhappy world, can Ginny, forced into a marriage of convenience, find happiness? And does she know the people around her as well as she thinks?Category: Works in Progress
Draco really doesn't know how to handle crying women, does he? The handkechief scene was so funny!Yay to you! And the ending thene was really cute. I guess we are not going to find out Draco's reasons fo marrying Ginny for a while. And since Lucius agreed to the marriage he might have his own agenda? Also I like to think that Draco didn't try to consummate their marriage because he wanted to give her some space and time to adjust. But that's me.Anyway keep up the good work!
Author's Response: Lol nope, Draco's not good with crying women. And was he just being nice? I don't know. Perhaps, perhaps ;) And yes, I think you can safely assume that Lucius has his own agenda. Thanks for the review!
Oh, I'm glad someone's being nice to Ginny. I really like your Narcissa! Waiting for more!
Author's Response: Yup, Ginny needs someone to be nice to her. I'm glad you're enjoying the story :)
Oh, this is so awful!
I refuse to believe Draco cheated on her all this time. Tell me Parkinson made him do it with some kind of threat!
Author's Response: You'll just have to wait and see :P Hehe.
Fiery and stubborn Ginny Weasley is forced to be partners on an assignment for the Ministry with the elusive, self-righteous, and impossibly handsome Lord Draco Malfoy. They step into a world of magic, secrets, legends, and mystery. Little do they know what they are getting into..Category: Works in Progress
Is it Bella?
Anyway, Iwas glad to see you updated! I really enjoyed the chapter and your Draco was great. He would just go to try and find out about what happened to Snape without telling Ginny anything.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! Also, you guess is good :) but obviously, you will still have to wait ;) ... I'm really glad you enjoyed my Draco. I can totally see him as this sort of intense, completely focused person, and for a while now, Ginny has been just an object to him...for NOW, that is.. :)
After a year playing Quidditch for the Harpies, Ginny finds herself whisked off to Italy for a summer holiday by none other than dear Aunt Muriel. Although Ginny might welcome a holiday, Muriel is not the best of traveling companions. And when one Draco Malfoy comes rather literally tumbling into the scene, will this prove to be the nightmare holiday Ginny envisions, or something else entirely?Category: Works in Progress
That looks like a really fun story! Why, or why did Draco fall? And Muriel is going to drive Ginny crazy, isn't she? Eagerly waiting for more!
Author's Response: Thank you! So pleased to hear you found ti amusing. Muriel could drive anyone crazy ... as for Draco - time will tell.
The former Ginny Weasley, now Ginny Potter, is in shambles as her tumultuous marriage to the Boy Who Lived comes to an end. On a quest to rediscover herself, she must go out on her own and try to put together the pieces of her life. Can she find comfort in someone just as broken and scarred as she?Category: Works in Progress
What an interesting story! I wonder why Scorpius wants to learn about the final battle from Ginny. Are there things his daddy isn't telling him? Also he seems to like Ginny. I'm intrigued to see where this is going.
Author's Response: Scorpius is going to be very interesting and hopefully be fun for you to read about. And though he likes Ginny, it's not anything sexual or anything (for some reason I seem to get questions about them ending up together). It's more of him looking for a mother-figure. Thanks for the review!
Ginny was used to not dealing with things that bothered her. She was used to ignoring when things went wrong. She's not used to having to deal with things, and she's not used to sharing her thoughts. This is now something entirely new to deal with, and she never expected Draco Malfoy to be able to help her. Or become as important as he does.Category: Completed Short Stories
There areen't many fics where Draco or Ginny are seriously ill, let alone both of them. Thank you for a great story.
Author's Response: And honestly, if not for the h/c bingo thing on LJ, I wouldn't have written this either. It was hard for me, because it kept sliding toward character death. I fought that hard, because I couldn't do that to them after making them *both* ill. I'm glad it worked for you. :)
A guide to people, places, and things in the DDD-verse, this manual can help to negotiate through the thicket of plotty goodness that is the DDD-verse. (Watch out for rabid plot bunnies!) Chapter summaries and timeline included! Free chocolately Draco prize inside! WARNING: Extreme spoilers, obviously. Do NOT read this without reading DDD first.Category: Works in Progress
Summaries for chapters 98 to the end so that we're all caught up! And as a VERY special treat… a cookie from the first chapter of the sequel to DDD.
Yay, yay, yay, yay, yay!!!!!!
Anise is back!!!!!!!
(Does a happy tribal dance).
Need I say more?
Author's Response: I want to see the tribal dance. :) Anyway, thank you!! Yes, I realized that the sequel just HAD to be written... Ginny wouldn't stop telling me what happened, and-- that van with the men with straitjackets is STILL THERE! Have to run. More later. :)
If I may make a suggestion, I think a reader who really wants to figure out what's going on in this fic, aside of reading this fabulous guide should also take time and read your responses to reviews. There are lots of clues and explanations there.
Author's Response: Thank you, and a good suggestion too. :)
O.K., this guide has dramatically increased the number of questionsI have unresolved. Shall I start with the first 200? Kidding.
Some random thoughts though:
1.This elusive room. It seems to pop in different places, so does it also pop in different times too? It allways has the same interior.
2. Are we going to see George/ Hermione at some later point? Does it mean she'll turn to being normal?
3. Is Ginny going to have some working relationship with Draco before it becomes romantic? I suppose he really is going to be The Junior Undersecretary of Culture. Also it looks from that cookiechapter (37) that he'll keep his promise to get her to the Regency Ball.
4. You know, that cookie where it looks loke Ginny is Marie,in chapter 37, somehow I get the feeling something is off there. Perhaps I'm still trying to deny them being the same person, despite numerous evidence. You will laugh, but it looked like some kind of roleplay to me. (Maybe something like they did in MMoM where Draco created some scene where he really was 16 tofigure out wether he was going to force himself on Ginny if she was brought to him then.)
5. And now for another crazy idea: There are TWO MARIE- one is the realone and the other is Ginny posing as her - seeing as there are time inconsistinsies. O.k., that was mostly a joke -one Marie is quite enough!
Anyway,I'm eagerly waiting for chapter 41 and the rest!
Author's Response: Now I'm going to wonder what the other 293 questions were. ;) Anyway...
1.) Very good question. The room did appear to Draco when he was five years old and looking for Teddy, and he was able to find it occasionally as a child, although he never remembered those times as anything except vague dreams. (Pictures cute five-year-old Draco.:) So it definitely could appear about 16 years ago from the current present time of the fic, and yes, it always does look the same.
2.) It depends on what happens with them. I only write what the characters tell me, and-- (they're coming with those butterfly nets-- never mind.) Hermione is pretty bad at this point, but I don't think that she's as bad as Harry. She felt betrayed by Ron (and to be fair, he never tried to reach out to her as a friend after the breakup), and then she sort of got under Harry's spell (not literally.) But she *could* change, and I don't think that DDD's Harry is really at a point where he can do that anymore.
3.) Can't answer that one. ;) But yes, he gets her to the ball.
4.) Or that one. But I will say that the situation in the cookie you're talking about is a lot more complicated than it seems to be. We don't know why Ginny is there, what led up to her choosing to do it, what happens afterwards (besides a lot of NC-17ness-- I'll say that!), or... a lot else. ;) But it will all make sense.
Two more:
6. What's in the second crate? When are we going to find out?
7. I can't help but think that Lucius and Astoria have some really dirty secrets.
Author's Response: 6.) (laughs evil-ly) Very Important Stuff. We find out near the very end.
7.) I REALLY can't answer that one.
What do an arrogant writer lacking inspiration and a rebellious redhead have in common? Nothing much. But when an accident of magic throws them together, Ginny learns what it takes to inspire a Malfoy.Category: Long and Completed

Well, it looks like it's going to be a really fun story! And I don't remember reading something with similar plot - Draco the writer and Ginny as a Muse. So it's quite original and refreshing. I hope you used them role-playing Draco's characters as was suggested in the prompt. IT should be so fun!
Author's Response: Thank you, though I can't take credit for the originality ;) I hope you enjoy the rest!
Ginny works hard to pay off the debt she owes a family friend by working as a dancer in a cabaret.Category: Works in Progress
“I was here on business.”
Her eyes had adjusted to the dim candle lighting, and she could see the edges of his lips curl into a faint smile. “What kind of business?”
“The business of finding out why Ginny Weasley was working in a cabaret.”
Wow, you really did a good job with that chapter! I was convinced Malfoy is her benefactor until he actually shoved up! The settings are very interesting I'm really looking forvard to see how this story develops!
But, there's one problem. Iusually find it hard to read fics where Draco or Ginny die. At least I need tobe prepared in advance. I know authors are reluctant to revealtheplot, but is it possible for you to say whether the character death worning actually means one of them (no need to specify whom)?
Author's Response: thank you! that is what i was aiming for, of course, because who else would be her benefactor? lol
one of the main characters will die, but don't worry. you won't see it, if that helps at all. it will just transition from last chapter to epilogue (have you seen Moulin Rouge?).
I'm so happy you updated this!
I can't wait for what's going to happen next.
And draco never answered why he was eeping tubs on Ginny!
And i'm looking forward to Blaise's reaction when he finds out Ginny was spending time with Draco.
Love the story!
COMPLETE! Sequel to The Enemy of Souls. Draco Malfoy has a problem: his life has become unrecognizable. He’s willingly helping a Mudblood. He lives in a Muggle apartment. And he’s constantly forced to make nice with the biggest bunch of blood traitors around. The source of his problems? Ginny Weasley, the witch he’s possibly in love with. Which makes the secret he’s keeping from her his biggest problem of all—because this secret could ruin his relationship with Ginny forever. And he’s not the only one with a secret…Category: Long and Completed
I'm so happy you updated! i was just thinking the other day what a shame that there are no updates on this one.
I wonder if Blaise's presense will put another strain on Ginny and Draco's relationship which is complicated as it is.
Oh, what a chapter!
I really hope everything works out for Draco and Ginny in the end.
First, I'll let you know that I've been eagerly awaiting this sequel! I'm so happy you posted it!
And shocking revelations right from the start! So Blaise was the Death Eater that was holding Malfoy's baby in the Riddle house?! i actually thought it was a woman because i think it was described that he was tender with it. So he was held prisoner for 8 years? Wow!
I imagine how upset and angry Ginny will get once she finds out that draco was hiding this fact from her!
Why haven't Blaise tried to contact Ginny?
Also why didn't Ginny tell Draco about the Dark Mark I can understand her not telling her family, but why not him?
Thank you so much for posting! waiting for more!
Author's Response: Blaise was actually in hiding for six years with his mum. Then the Death Eaters finally found them, his mum was killed, and he was taken prisoner. So he's been prisoner for two years :)
You know, transitional chapters are often boring and nothing much happens in them, but this chapter is absolutely great!! There was an amazing portrayal of Ginny's emotional state and a glimpse into Draco's as well. I hope they work it out eventually and get Will back (and have a mutual child too...)
Bringing Harry at this point was unexpected and interesting. And he has a daughter?
I need more soon!!
Many years ago, Draco Malfoy made a choice that led him very far away from Ginny Weasley, and the life that they might have shared. But not only is it hopeless to fight fate, its paths have a strange way of turning when you least expect them to, as a very unexpected person later learns...Category: Works in Progress
Chapter FOURTEEN Quote of the Day:
“It can’t be worse than going to Romania. James is getting worse by the day. Lily doesn’t care about anything but her broom. And Mum and Dad—“ Albus breaks off.
Ginny. Scorpius can feel his face stiffen, and he has to conjure a coughing fit to cover it. Incredible how simply hearing of her, not even hearing her name, is enough to cause that stab of feeling in him. Just when he thinks that he’s over that sort of thing entirely—
“The point is, I’m so glad I can go with you,” sighs Albus.
Maybe I ought to wish that you couldn’t, thinks Scorpius. For your own good.
I see the muse strikes again! Good for us, readers!
well, this fic is definitely different. Though I must say that your A/N and the Hat's prediction got me absolutely and thoroughly confused. Does it mean that first Ginny will end up with Draco and then he will die and she will be with Scorpius? he is obviously fascinated with her. I'll just have to wait and see.
Albus, james and Rose are cute. I hope they really end up friends with Scorpius.
And Mycroft and Sherloc Nott - ha ha!
Draco is so sadly turning up to be like his father - always demanding of his son and never showing him that he is pleased or proud of him. at least Scorpius stands up to his father unlike Draco himself.
I'm intrigued about Ginny.
Need i say that I'm very eager to learn where this story is going? now I have another story to look forward to. And one must never forget DDD too...
Author's Response: Thanks! :) Now, I can't tell you what's going to happen yet... ;) I loved the Nott brothers, too. The Lucius/Draco/Scorpius parallels are very complex here, and we'll find out more about them soon. But don't worry, this story really only has a couple of central mysteries (which is why it WON'T be very long). The biggest one is: why did Draco and Ginny part in the first place? Why did it end up D/A and H/G, and epilogue-compliant? More soon... and more DDD soon, too!
I think the distinct feature of this story is it's vagueness. The lines between dreams or visions and reality are blurred, many things are left unsaid, Draco and Ginny frequently cut their words midsentence.
I'm still unsure as to why Scorpius is infatuated with Ginny. is it because he saw his father being different, human around her?
What will happen to his friendship with Albus as a result of this infatuation?
I like Alec, but then I've always liked Blaise too. He ties up with Sirius in 2 place for pairing with Ginny in my head.
Author's Response: Thanks! I agree-- at this point, there's something vague about this fic, and it's really because Scorpius is not facing reality in a lot of ways. This WILL change, though. ;) I think you're on to something with Scorpius seeing his father acting so differently around Ginny-- he can't help but notice and remember her because of that. But there's more to it, too. Some of it is just whatever indefinable thing it is that makes one person so attractive to another, and some... well, I think it becomes clearer as time goes on. And Sirius/Ginny! I had an entire Siri/Ginny fic that never really quite saw the light of day. ;)
O.k. the button got hit accidentally which makes it a third review for this chapter.
On the other hand, when Draco makes his offer again in Hungary, Ginny only speaks about Scorpius as his child. So it makes me confused about Lily being his child too. But then you couldn't have Ginny ask Draco about his children (in plural) because it would make Lily's parentage obvious.
I know, I know! I'll just have to wait and see!!! Hopefully not too long...
Author's Response: It's all good! Well, all I'm going to say that is that even IF Ginny knew anything about Lily, it's true that she wouldn't have told Draco about it. (Or is that a red herring? ;) More soon!
All, right, I have to add some thoughts. I've been pondering Draco-Ginny relationship during the period after they both got married. It looks as if they had none (as Ginny refused his offer), but some facts indicate that something was going on. Like when Scorpius saw them at the manor when he was little. Obviously they were discussing something serious. Also, all this thing around Lily - Ginny and Harry mention her several times while assumingly talking about Draco (Harry accuses her that she can't forget him) and Draco was worried that Scorpius is interested in Lily and was relieved that he is not and there's the fact that Scorpius does feel more in a brotherly way towards Lily. Could she be an accidental Draco-Ginny child?
Author's Response: I can't EVEN answer the question about Lily. ;) Some good guesses, though.
Your update was such a pleasant surprise! Even though it's sad. Poor Scorpius, he has too much on his plate for a teenage boy. I'm glad he has friends who care about his well being, but he can't really let them in on his troubles and it's not clear how they will react when they find out the main reason he is so distant.
The dream had me trying to figure out what it represent, and it ended badly too...
Poor Nora.
Thank you and I hope another update will come soon.
Author's Response: Thanks! I feel bad for Scorpius too (not that I'm going to stop torturing him or anything. ;) But some lighter times are coming up, at least for a while.
Oh, wow! The conversation between Scorpius and Draco left me speechless. it was so well done. Draco is obviously doing some serious thinking.
scorpius's attraction to Ginny is so cute. It reminds me of Draco in your other stories only without the darkness.
And the dreams he is having, are they just dreams or visions?
Thank you for the awesome reading!
Author's Response: Thanks! :) Yes, the wheels are definitely turning in Draco's head, and much plotting is happening. In Chapter 3, we'll find out much more about how that affects others. Scorpius's feelings about Ginny at this point are very, very vague and unspecific, which is as it should be-- the kid's still a couple of days away from his fifteenth birthday, and there's that no-tackiness clause! ;) His dreams are important. All I will say now is that none of them are even close to being exact visions of anything. More soon...
You write this so incredibly well, that the reader can actually feel Scorpius' emotions, his longing for Ginny, his sexual frustration. I can't even start to figure out how he will ever end up with her in real life.
Was Ginny really in the tower or was it a vision and she was really elsewhere? she is clearly unhappy, that much is obvious from their previous encounter too. And Draco made her cry again. I suppose James sees things from Ginny and Draco's past? I'm still concerned about scorpius' and Albus' friendship.
You just couldn't resist putting marie there, could you? Was she there because she was Draco's initiation girl?
In any case I'm glad Scorpius didn't pick her even though she was supposed to be for him.
I'm looking forward to what's up next.
Author's Response: Thank you! :) Yes, at this point we really can't see what's going to happen, and it's because *he* can't begin to imagine it. He's not letting himself even admit that his father and Ginny have loved each other all their lives, so he clearly can't deal with his own feelings about her, and the poor kid is only 16, after all... ;) (Although in the Aniseverse, 16 is the age of majority for wizards.) James was seeing things that had happened in the past, but when Scorpius went up to the tower, he really did see Ginny, and she was actually there at that time. Um, no, I couldn't resist Marie... (squrims) Marie is a mystery, isn't she? And Scorpius just knew that he couldn't pick her, so he picked a girl who was kind of like a younger version of Millicent Bulstrode, which Nora is too. I always like Millicent. :) More soon!
