This was such a fantastic story - I loved it! It's a shame it was written with a word restriction and in a time frame, because it would have been even more brilliant had it been longer, with a chance for things to be really developed and less rushed (which I got the impression with in the last chapter?) Nonethless, this story was something I'd be hankering for: an original AU, mystery, passion and UST and drama. The first few parts were my favourite- I found the passion between Draco and Ginny to be electrifying and couldn't blame Ginny for going home with him!I loved that Draco had had a thing for her for a couple of years as well. I loved the last part too - with the trolls and giants!

Such a brilliant story and I'm glad I stumbled across it!

Author's Response: Thank you! Time frames are good though. It really motivates you. :) I wouldn't have posted this story otherwise. For some reason, the prompt was rather difficult for me, and I don't think I would have created this particular story without that little kick in the pants. I definitely would have liked to stretch out the mystery a bit further, though. I am particularly happy that you liked the giants. I really love a good use of the magical aspects of the HP universe and I'm glad that others do also.

I forgot to add: something that I really liked was how affected Ginny was by Fred's death and also that she didn't like Hogwarts because of the hard Sixth Year. It's easy to forget just how easily the latter would have affected her and too many people dismiss the former.

Author's Response: I agree. As soon as I latched onto that emotion, the grit and the heart of the story came alive for me. It was pretty lost until then. Thank you again. You are so sweet for leaving such wonderful feedback.
Hugs!

Valley of the Dragons by gidge_8    (Reviews - 21)

Completely AU - The Auror Academy is located in the remote highlands of Scotland, in a valley frequented by the wildest of dragons. Ginny decides to attend, disguising herself as a boy, to follow a dream and a handsome blond Quidditch star.

I really like where this is going :) I love the AUness of it and the potential.

Just one thing : I wasn't sure whether Ginny was applying to be an Auror because she genuinely wanted to or because Draco was there - I think both were implied at points. (I admit I would prefer the first option because it would imply she's independent and has an agenda of her own) though it seems it might be the latter.

Anyway, looking forward to more :)

Author's Response: A very good question! I think Ginny isn't sure of it herself. She is definitely frustrated with the fact that she's not treated as an equal, and she is very interested in becoming an Auror - not necessarily because of the career itself, but because it's something forbidden. She wants to find out why it's such a big deal that women aren't considered capable enough to make it, because she's pretty sure she can if she works hard enough. However, i think she definitely would not have gone against social convention if it wasn't for her quest to chase her Quidditch player. She has the intention of succeeding, just to prove that she can, because, she's pretty darned sick of seeing her brothers have opportunities that she doesn't, and she wants to stick it to them a bit, because she knows she's just as smart and capable. She's no quitter. She decided to go for it, and she's going to do her best to succeed. More coming soon! And thank you so much for reading.

Wow, this is such an interesting premise! Loving the AU aspect and how mean Ginny is!

Author's Response: My version of Ginevra is one of those characters I love to hate - she's a bigoted bitch, yet at the same time I love her attitude. ;) Thanks for reviewing!
