Love it! Just curious; what would Ginny's scent be?

The Weasley Child by imelda    (Reviews - 157)

Scorpius Malfoy's parents were never around, and left him in the care of his nanny, Ginny Weasley. He grew up blissfully under her care, brought up with the Weasley ideals of courage, honor, and loyalty. Then when he turns 7, his father comes home, and Scorpius' simple world falls apart.

I hope you post the next chapter soon! Am really enjoying it! Absolutely love your portrayal of Scorpius.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I like Scorpius, too.\r\n\r\nAlso, to Material Girl below-- sorry I submitted my response to you before I typed anything! I wanted to say that I, too, wish the chapters were longer. I feel like it takes so long to complete a chapter I\'m sure it must be really long, and then it turns out to be much shorter than I\'d hoped! Ah, well. Thanks for the review!

Oh my! You FINALLY updated! :):) Had to go back and re-read Ch. 3 because I'd forgotten what happened! I take it that Harry will be entering the picture soon? And how long will it be before Ginny re-enters the pictures? One last question; will this still end up D/G? I can't picture it and though I love your interpretation of Draco so far, I'd hate for her to end up with Jerk!Draco! Oh, I can't wait!

I think it's sweet that Scorpius loves Molly and Arthur. And that he's living with them rather than Hermione and Ron - Awkward much? And it's great of you to reply to all the comments; I love reading through them and getting all the answers to the questions I didn't think to ask. :)

Author's Response: Heh, sorry about the delay. To your points: yup, you\'ll be seeing Harry soon. As for Ginny...it\'ll be a leetle longer, but her role will become very big again. As for the D/G ending....hahaha. I hate to give anything away, but I will say that I struggled with this. My firm belief (I say that a bit tongue-in-cheek) is that all D/G stories should end happily! Unfortunately, I found it very hard to envision any way in which these two people could possibly find happiness together, mostly because of how big of an ass I made Draco. OTOH, Ginny isn\'t the nicest girl in the world herself, and was with Draco despite his meanness (before he became the maniac he is now). So....I wrote what I ended up writing. I\'ll look forward to seeing what you think about the ending, when I finally get to posting it. Your last 2 comments: I love the Auntie/Uncle Weasley thing, too! I had a lot of fun seeing our canon character\'s from the perspective of someone in a younger generation--all the \"Mr. and Mrs. Weasley\"s and whatnot was just strange and fun. Lastly, thanks for noticing the review replies--I\'ve been a long-time reviewer and not much of a writer up until now, and the conversations I got into with writers via reviews have been some of my most worthwhile fandom experiences. So this is the least I can do in return!

Gee, Ginny! A bit harsh, don't you think?! I know I should try to understand a bit from her p.o.v., but I can't! This is the first time I've ever actually disliked Ginny in a fanfic! Poor Scrap. Having such expectations put on you back then. Even now! :(

Will we find out who the unrecognizable man in the photo is any time soon? Is he Ginny's current partner? If so, then I'm glad; because she'll have other reasons for not leaving her 'new life' and won't be returning home so easily! And if the fic's meant to end up D/G, then that'll mean Draco will have to work his arse off to win her back, if that's the direction you're taking the story. Good!

Oh, I can't wait! Great update.

Author's Response: Haha. I love your review. It gave me a lot to think about--for one thing, I have to say that I actively tried to make Ginny unlikable. I got fed up with everyone defending her in past chapters, and ignoring the fact that she had *abandoned* her child simply because she got upset. That said, maybe I went too far. It hurts me that this is the first time you've "ever actually disliked Ginny." I guess that if a reader dislikes a character that much, and is so unable to understand her perspective, then the author has failed. So that kind of sucks, and I've got to maybe change what comes next. OTOH, it's always been clear to me that neither Ginny nor Draco are great people in this fic, and the story of Scorpius' life is that he is caught in between their disastrous behavior. Personally, I've been able to continue liking them despite their actions, but maybe I've got to work harder to make sure that my readers do, too. Lastly, you mentioned that Draco will have to "work his arse off to win her back," which is so spot on, because I struggled with this when completing the story. I wanted them to end up together, but his character had become so irredeemable that I wasn't sure it could happen. Now that I have to rewrite the whole rest of the story (see above--my computer died), I'm not sure whether he'll be able to pull it off! In any case, thank you for your review!

OMG I've only just found out about your computer! :( I completely understand what that feels like. We really need to start backing-up things!

And even though I said I disliked TWCGinny, I like disliking her! If that makes any sense. Her personality suits the context of the story and I hope you haven't gone and changed anything! The same goes with Draco.

Good luck with rewriting the chapters; I can't wait! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I hate that it's taken a year and a half to reply and update...but hopefully you're still around and will still enjoy the story. Either way, thanks again! Oh, and as for disliking Ginny--yeah, it's true. Neither Ginny nor Draco are meant to be good people in this story. I still hoped that people would sympathize with them in spite of this; I hope that later chapters will accomplish this, since I haven't yet.

A Ferrety Tale by shmeilia    (Reviews - 24)

Once upon a time there lived a princess. She lived in an odd-looking castle far away in a land called Ottery St. Catchpole with her father, the king, her mum, the queen, and her six older brothers, the princes.

Not Quite an Affair by Rosalie    (Reviews - 522)

“You mustn’t tell them, Rose! Harry knows but Lily and the boys… you can’t breathe a word…”

When Rose Weasley went to her favorite aunt for advice on how to handle loving someone her family disapproved of, she never dreamed the older woman would have been able to relate so well. In the comfortable safety of her kitchen, Ginevra Potter told her niece everything and swore her to secrecy. But months later, when Ginevra notices that her daughter, Lily, is spending time with Scorpius Malfoy, Ginny realizes too late that the truth can never really be locked away. Children question their parents and their own identities and everyone must confront the past.

OMG I don't know how I feel about this! I mean, poor Rose! It's as though no one cares! But I like the idea of Scorpius and Lily! Though, I also like the idea of Scorpius and Rose! What to do! I've never felt so torn over fanfiction before - How embarassing. Will we ever find out what Rose and Scorpius were talking aout in the alley? Can't wait for your next update!

Author's Response: Yes, eventually you'll find out (and I do mean eventually, like five or so chapters down the line, lol) It's nothing your imagination can't filter in, I assure you. Not to worry. And I promise, Rose is anything but finished with all of this. Thanks so much for your review, it's great fun to know the drama is coming off the computer screen to readers, lol. Thanks again!

OMG That was THE most brilliant chapter I've ever read out of fanfiction! I've never been so riveted over a/n fight/argument before! It was very well written.

And poor Ginny! This line - "...watching with horror as her aunt crumpled in Malfoy’s arms, still sobbing in the corridor" - was heart-breaking. I'm glad Draco was there for some sort of support.

I'm so excited for the next chapter, can't wait!

Author's Response: Wow, thank you for the compliment! *very pleased smile* Glad you liked it so much! Not going to lie, fight scenes are a blast to write and easily just keep going and going... Hard to stop them you know? ;) I'll have the next one out soon as I can.
