I’ve been mulling this over since I read Mynuet's essay, which by the way, Shar, was very well done. Mine is taken from a different angle. Just a bit of rambling, really . .Category: Essays
Wow, I totally agree with the part about d/g never going to be in cannon.
Probably not, but I can't help but still hope.
I've noticed the JK has a distinct writing style. She foreshadows at things and relates things back to ancient myths/history/etc.
I can't help but relate the pairing to the star-crossed story of Romeo and Juliet.
Studying the play this year gave me a delightful insight into the story and how much they resembled Draco and Ginny.
Two families that hate each other.
Juliet's parents wishes her to marry the perfect Paris.
I'm sure the Weasleys wouldn't object at all if Ginny were to announce marriage to Harry in the later years.
Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, hates all Mercutios. He gets into fights with them every oppurtunity that he gets.
Ronald hates all Malfoys and is also easlily povoked into a fight.
Romeo has two friends mentioned. Benvolio and Mercutio.
Draco has two friends mentioned (kinda). Crabbe and Goyle.
So, hopefully, JK did all this on purpose, I'm keeping my fingers crossed :D

So thats it? You're going to do a shortened sequel when I spent my ENTIRE day reading Before the Storm when I should have been studying for my final?
This makes me sad. You are an amazing writer and I was looking forward to reading more.
This makes me very sad and it feels like I've wasted my day on story without an ending.
Author's Response: Honestly, I didn\'t force you to read this story, did I? I didn\'t strap you down to your computer and make you read instead of study. I can\'t be blamed because I chose not to write the sequel when I did more than most authors and finished the first part, then posted all I had of the second. I take minor offense to your comments because while you may have \'wasted\' a day reading part one, I \'wasted\' a long, long time writing it. I do take responsibility for not finishing the sequel, but my interest waned and I moved on. My apologies, but that\'s life, right?
I am not sure if you will read this as it seems like it's been a while since you have updated.
Two years ago, I wrote a rather offensive review due to my disappointment in you choosing not to finish the story.
I recently came back and reread your story. The quality of your writing is still truly amazing in my opinion.
I just wanted to appologize for what I had said. I may not have understood then, but I understand now.

That was awesome! The last chapter was a little on the short side and I would definitely would have liked to have seen it expanded. It was cute, I loved the banter between D and G. Also, I do love the part you slipped in about the giant squid and the hotdogs. The image of that in my head really made my day. :D
