This has to be one of my favorite DG fics...ever. I absolutely adore the way that you have taken JKR's revelations in DH and used them to supplement your wonderful story, as opposed to completely altering it. I also appreciate the way that you have included several nods to incidents or quotes in the canon, without using them in an overly obvious way.
Your characterization of Draco is lovely, but it's only enhanced by your depiction of Ginny Weasley, the lionness that she is!
Your dialogue is witty, and the changing POVs allows the plot to advance without portraying Draco or Ginny as too self-indulgent.
Kudos!
As I've spent the better part of two days reading this as opposed to working, I think it's needless to say that I cannot WAIT for the next installment.

Author's Response: Thank you so, so, so much for the absolutely flattering review! While this story is only canon through HBP, the original goal was to create a plausible conclusion with D/G... so I've tried very hard to stay in-character, incorporate canon, and even, ocasionally - when it suits me, utilize DH to my advantage. I'm glad it's working. Thank you so much, again!

I think you're writing Draco very well. I can empathise with him, yet he's not really trying to make people feel sorry for him. I especially liked how calmly he expressed his options. A true Slytherin indeed.

Interesting beginning. I found it a bit choppy, but it was nothing too distracting. I had to laugh at poor Draco being stuck listening to Ginny's ranting about Harry. Ginny must have been really angry.

Enjoyed the small bit of insight into Molly's thoughts at the start of the chapter. I liked the way Draco found out about the Diary from Harry instead of Ginny. Had she been the one to tell him, I think it would have come across as making her look weak; it tends be an awkard conversation in fanfic, but you found a way around that! Lots of little sarcastic lines in this chapter from everybody - love that! While your version of Hermione may seem lax, I think it works well with her personality. She takes things in stride and deals with everything step by step - her brains show through before emotions.

I had a blast reworking the beginning of the fic to show Molly's opinions on Ginny's dating delima - and the memory about Ginny as a girl. And I'm glad you pointed out the conversation abotu the Diary - it gave me fits to write because every time I had Ginny in the conversation, she did come off looking quite weak. So I'm glad my solution to remove her from the conversation worked. And thank you for the compliment on Hermione - that is exactly how I try to write her - brains first, but remember she's a girl. =D

One thing that always disappointed me in the Canon, was how Rowling set Ginny up to be a very powerful witch throughout the books, but in the end, her part in the final battle seemed small. So, of course, I love what I read in this chapter about her advanced powers. And I love how you've written Fred and George. I found the banishment to their shop, and their reactions to it quite humourous.

wow! what a great fic! I love your ginny and draco caracters (very well done) and I love our inclusions of other caracters in pov etc. I love Ginny's brothers pov when they realise what going on between their baby sister and malfoy.

As for the two year hiatus, I never lost interest in D/G - I kept up with stories and the like that I was following - but real life happened and I just didn't have the time to write anymore. It's so good to see you back! I have to admit that I did not read this chapter yet, but I wanted to leave you some encouragement and warm fuzzies for having had the courage to return and fall in love with D/G again. I want to re-read this story over from the beginning before I read this chapter, but I just don't have the time at the moment. I was wondering what inspired you to come back and if you had any other new stories planned? I do recall this story have a lot of great moments. Best of luck!
Author's Response: Thank you for the advanced warm fuzzies! I hope when you got around to it you enjoyed it! I never actually intended to leave - life just kind of blew up in my face. I kept up with stories I was following, I just didn't have time to sit down and write (though I did finish planning). When I finally made enough time for myself to start writing again, my style was different and there was a ton of stuff that I wanted to fix. So I decided to fix everything first (that took the better part of a year). Then I started on the new chapter, which took about 3 months to get right - because I hadn't written anything new in ages and ages and ages. While school is in session, I'm hoping to update every two months, then once a month minimum in the summer. I don't have anything new planned in particular, though when I'm stuck I usually write a flufflet to get in the groove again. Perhaps I'll start intregrating those into longer pieces that can also be posted. Thank you for the encouragement and luck!
