Bummed out after reading DH? Need a D/G fluff infusion? Spoiler-free.Category: Completed Short Stories
Guh. I'm one of those middle aged women. Ah, well. Hope there's good company in hell.
Nicely done, seegrim! Look at you go!
Author's Response: Oh don't you worry, I'll set out a lawn chair for you. Thanks for reading! -seegrim
Who knew happily-ever-after could have an expiration date? New beginnings are hard, but when they happen in the middle of your life, they're infinitely more so.Category: Works in Progress
Guh. Poor Ginny. (I do applaud her for not snorting at Draco's son's name, however.)
You've managed to create a completely canonical (Is that a word?) and believable start. Congratulations, and I look forward to reading more!
Author's Response: Not a \'Scorpius\' fan, eh? I\'ll see what I can do about a nickname in the fic for you, then. :D
I wanted my first post-DH effort to follow canon as closely as possible so I can get it out of my system. After that, I\'ll adjourn to the \'Future AU\' category safe in the knowledge that I could deal with JKR\'s... epilogue *cough*Hah!NowNoOneCanWriteAroundMyCanon!bit*cough*
Hmm. Draco Malfoy seems to have morphed into my mother (the Master Gardener), I think we've had more than one of those conversations up there, complete with soil samples and sarcasm, but without wand waving.
Truly, though, they seem to have an easy early friendship, Ginny looks to have a clean break from Harry, and the stage is set. I'm really looking forward to more: how the children will handle the news of the divorce, how they'll deal with Mummy dating someone else, how she'll relate to another person after being with just one for her whole life, how the pH levels will allow her roses to flourish... all good stuff.
And I love the imagined portrait of a candy cane-ish Lucius Malfoy, and his supposed response! *giggle*
I just love this story. I don't usually, but I adore how it's told in first person; Ginny's point of view is perfect! Go, MBA!
Who would've thought that Narcissa Malfoy and my husband would have anything in common? Hmph. The teaser was fantastic, from Ginny's spiked tea (I've thought about doing that same thing often) to the mental picture I got of Narcissa, standing over the game board, lit from below, cackling evilly at taking over the world.
Looking forward to your next, and Happy New Year!

Snape snorted. “If you ask very nicely, I’ll think you’re someone else in disguise.”

Coming from a girl who loves stockings on Christmas morning far more than opening the presents, this was completely spot on, and adorable. The lipstick! The socks! The matching mother-Daughter jewelery! So perfect.
And that tea sounds fabulous!Wherever do I find that?
Author's Response: I was about to include the website for the tea--and then I read who the review was from. *laughs* Yes, that was my 'Happy Christmas' nod to you. Thanks for reading! -seegrim
